Happy First Day of December!

December is not my favorite month, but maybe this December is attempting to convince me to think differently. Because late last night/early this morning, the first late night/early morning of December 2021, this was the sky I saw outside my front yard.

A NEW Review by Vin Whitman of my poetry book, Malformed Confetti!

"This is a magnum opus of gore, so if you don't like smears, streaks, spills and spews perhaps this is not for you. I rather enjoyed it though. Juliet Cook harnesses her wild streams-of-consciousness into powerful rivulets of alliteration and rhythm. There is also a healthy dose of clever wordplay, which made the auditory centers of my brain sing."

the beginning of a wonderful new review by Vin Whitman of my poetry book, "Malformed Confetti", of which you can read the rest by clicking below...

New! My poem "Sometimes I Stay Quiet, So I Don't Launch An Attack" appears in Writing In A Woman's Voice today!

"Even if I dislike or disagree, I have a hard timethinking I can end something by quickly hitting a button,
tossing them into an online pile of trash.
Maybe I give too many multiple choice chances
to rancid meat or maybe I don't give enough.

Maybe I am too messed up and broken
and divided into conflicted fragments"
in my poem "Sometimes I Stay Quiet, So I Don't Launch an Attack", appearing today in Writing In A Woman's Voice (thank you very much to editor Beate Sigriddaughter) read more HERE - https://writinginawomansvoice.blogspot.com/2021/10/blog-post_22.html?spref=fb&fbclid=IwAR02-kFdfpa0ZUh-mHWgkzVPBakW-2ALfrUUbHB8R9VHLw2TfS7JBJcge7U

New! Three collaborative poems by Juliet Cook and Darryl Shupe in Menacing Hedge!

I am delighted to share the new Fall 2021 Issue of Menacing Hedge, in which Darryl Shupe and I have three of our collaborative poems appearing, surrounded by lots of other creative oddities!

The three collaborative poems are entitled, "Deep-fried Model Faces Sold Here", "Double Deep-fried Giblets", and "Bloody Rubber Chicken" and are part of a small series we're working on.
"I cracked open the caged runway models who were not allowed
to wear anything other than dirty sheep wool.
Whose teeth and tongues had been removed to make room
for more nasty spittle."

(from the poem "Deep-fried Model Faces Sold Here")
Partake of more of our poems HERE - http://www.menacinghedge.com/fall2021/entry-cook-shupe.php

Happy Spooky October from Thirteen Myna Birds! A New flock is here to haunt you!

Happy October from Thirteen Myna Birds! A new flock is here to haunt the walls of your brains, offering poetry and art by Jason O'Toole, Daniel Snethen, MISH Murphy, John Maurer, David P. Miller, John Grey, and Malachi Ray Adkins!

"As soon as I sleep, I forget to be positive - vociferous soul-catcher screeching - From hating the lack of love - To loving every bit of hate - still in my hometown driving past cemeteries - strip carcasses bare recycling death unto life - are you sure your mouse finger twitched on the link we told you to twitch? - Might be you don’t have prior experience being human - happiness is a hollow goal - The orange ball wasn’t. Then all at once was and there it is - I’m not allowed to betray what that means - Pumpkin squats on porch and continues to die - Do books go to heaven? Or even hell? - If a book can ascend can it also be murdered? - Who would have thought that little black book would turn out to be great black night..."
