The cover art incorporates Alexandre Charles Guillemot's Mars and Venus Surprised by Vulcan, a scene from Greco-Roman myth depicting the result of the god Vulcan's trap -- a trap set to catch his wife and brother in an adulterous act.

Venus seems to feign shame, Vulcan takes in the scene with furrowed brow, and Mars is nothing but a lingering hand in our cover--a synecdoche in their ongoing story.
