Last week Lady Coira fell out of the tree she had been perched on… right into Garrick’s arms. Enjoy this snippet, my lovelies, and happy reading!
Snippet:
“Sir Garrick…” His named passed her lips in a breathy whisper.
“Lady Coira…” he answered, and before common sense returned to him, he leaned down and placed his lips upon her own.
By God’s Bones, he must be mad, he thought even as her arms pressed their way over his shoulders and wrapped themselves around his neck. His mouth moved over hers gently for he did not wish to scare her. ’Twas an exploration… a first-time meeting of two souls as their breaths exchanged with one another. He was lost ’til a low throaty moan escaped her and brought him back to the reality of what he was doing.
The Piper’s Lady
The MacLarens (Book Three)
By Sherry Ewing
True love binds them. Deceit divides them. Will they choose love?
Lady Coira Norwood spent her youth traveling with her grandfather. Now well past the age men prefer when they choose a wife, she has resigned herself to remain a maiden. But everything changes once she arrives at Berwyck Castle. She cannot resist a dashing knight who runs to her rescue, but would he give her a second look?
Garrick of Clan MacLaren can hold his own with the trained Knights of Berwyck, but as the clan’s piper they would rather he play his instruments to entertain them—or lead them into battle—than to fight with a sword upon the lists. Only when he sees a lady across the training field and his heart sings for the first time does he begin to wish to be something he is not.
Will a simple misunderstanding between them threaten what they have found in one another or will they at last let love into their hearts?
This novella was previously released in the Bluestocking Belles boxset, Never Too Late. It has been revised with additional material and an alternative ending. The Piper’s Lady is now being released for individual sale.

Excerpt:
Luc halted Minstrel at the edge of the forest. He kicked his leg over the stallion’s back and dismounted, setting the axe and rope down before turning to help Giselle. She all but fell into his arms, hair spilling over her shoulders.
“My braid came loose,” she said, eyes bright. “The ride was wonderful. He’s an amazing animal. Would he let me ride him alone, do you think?”
“Nay.” Luc set her down. “That is, I doubt it. No one but me has ever taken his reins.”
Luc was hard, the result of firm female breasts pressing against his back as they’d travelled. He’d have little trouble chopping down a tree. God knows, he needed some kind of physical diversion.
The exercise that morning had helped, but he still had a surplus of repressed energy. Not all of it was lustful, either. Warmer days had made life on the island more pleasant. He and Giselle had settled into a routine of sorts. Attraction aside, he’d grown used to her and genuinely enjoyed her company.
Even so, due to his discomfort, he released her now with a measure of abruptness and some of the joy in her expression faded.
“This way,” he said, beckoning her to follow. “I’m eager to see what you think of this… whatever it is.”
He paused at the top of the hill and drew Giselle to his side. “Close your eyes,” he said, “and tell me what you hear.”
Instead, her eyes widened. “Look at this place. These stones. They’re… why, they’re magnificent. Did they originate here, do you think?”
“I don’t know.” Luc fidgeted. “Close your eyes, Giselle. Tell me what you hear.”
She huffed at him but did as bidden. “I hear the birds.” She frowned. “Waves on the rocks. Um, the breeze through the pines. You, breathing. And my voice, telling me what I hear.”
He stifled a laugh. “Very droll.”
“Well, you asked.” She opened one eye and peered up at him. “Is there a purpose to this?”
“Come with me.” He led her into the circle.
Standing in the center, Giselle pivoted, her inquisitive gaze sweeping over every one of the monoliths. Luc looped his thumbs into his sword belt and waited.
“It’s magnificent, but I really don’t see…” Only as she faced him again did her jaw drop. Her hands flew to her ears. “Oh, my God. I’ve gone deaf.”
Luke chuckled and shook his head. “Nay, not deaf.”
“But I can’t hear the waves or the birds. It’s…”
He nodded. “Totally silent.”
“But how can this be?” She stepped out of the circle and back in again. “’Tis beyond curious. Some kind of magic, perhaps?”
“I wish I knew. There’s no obvious explanation for it. Nor for the light we saw.”
Expression thoughtful, Giselle placed her hand on one of the stones. “It’s not harmful.”
Luc raised a brow. “How do you know that?”
“I…” She looked at him and shrugged. “I’m not sure. It’s just something I feel.”
“Hmm. Well, it doesn’t seem to do harm. But it’s troublesome that Minstrel won’t come near the place.” He glanced up at an uncluttered sky. “The birds don’t like it, either.”
Giselle hugged herself and gazed out over the island. “There’s something strange about this entire place, don’t you think? I’ve felt it since the beginning. I think Ninian tried to explain it to me, but I couldn’t understand him.”
“I’ve felt it, too.” He gazed out across the sea. “And I still cannot fathom why Ninian did not own a boat. His supplies had been recently replenished. But by whom?”
“Mmm, it is odd.” Giselle shaded her eyes against the sun. “Look at that. I don’t think I’ve ever seen the mainland so clearly defined. It’s like I could reach out and touch it.”
“So close, yet so far,” Luc said.
“How far do you think?”
“I’d estimate twenty miles. Maybe a little more.”
“Not terribly far, then. Could you perhaps build a raft using wood from the trees?”
“I have considered it”
“And?”
“I am neither shipbuilder nor carpenter. Besides, there are too many risks attached to such a venture. For now, at least, you’re safer here.”
“Me?” Giselle pondered for a moment. “So, in other words, if I wasn’t here, you’d attempt to build a raft and escape this isle.”
He gave her a bemused glance. “Since you are here, your statement has no merit.”
“I believe it does. Answer me. If I was not here, would you have already made an attempt to escape this place?”
“Probably. But that does not mean ––”
“I’m a hindrance, then.”
Luc blew out a breath. Was the girl spoiling for a fight? “I did not say that.”
“A burden?”
“Nay. Why must you provoke me, Giselle? Cease with this foolishness.”
“Not till you admit it.” Defiance shone in her eyes. “I’m quite aware of your reluctance to play nursemaid. Being given this mission dented your pride, didn’t it? You try to hide it, but it shows plainly in your face, in how you look at me sometimes and push me away. You blame me for this mess we’re in, don’t you? But it’s not my fault we’re––how did you so charmingly put it––stuck with each other on this forsaken piece of earth. You could have refused my uncle’s request. Or ignored your misplaced sense of duty and simply saved yourself the night of the fire.”
Giselle’s fingers ploughed through her hair, raking it back from eyes alight with anger. When her hand fell to her side, the rebellious tresses tumbled forward again, swirling around her shoulders in shimmering waves.
Luc’s groin tightened. Christ. “Have you finished?”
She scoffed and folded her arms. “See? You don’t deny it, so why not admit it? I’m naught but a pain in your knightly arse. It would have been better for you if you’d let me drown with poor Anna.”
He looked heavenward and threw his arms wide. “As you wish then, my lady. I admit it. You’re a thorn in my side. An irritating burden. It would, indeed, have served me better to let you drown. Abandoned you to the same fate as your unfortunate maid. There. Is it what you wanted to hear? Are you satisfied now?”
She glared at him. “Bastard.”
He laughed at the irony of her insult and stepped toward her, coming to within an arm’s length. “May God protect me from the folly of women. What do you want from me, Giselle? Are you merely testing the limits of my patience? Or is this some feminine wile? An irrational way of seeking compliments through insult? Very well. How’s this? You look incredibly beautiful at this moment, my lady, with the blush of anger on your cheeks, fire in your eyes, and that hair of yours flying about. I am totally aroused. My cock is as hard as steel. I want nothing more than to kiss you. Touch every part of you. Make love to you right here, on the grass.”
The color on her cheeks deepened as her gaze flicked to his groin. “Liar,” she whispered.
“I’m a bastard and a liar?” He laughed again, snaked his arm around her waist and tugged her against his erection. “There. Can you feel that? You drive me to madness, lady. I live every day in perpetual frustration.”
Her eyes widened and her chin lifted. “Release me.”
The demand had as much substance as a dried flower. But did she mean it? He hoped not. He’d never been so aroused, but he would not force her. He relaxed his hold, searching her face for some indication of what she truly felt. He’d release her in a heartbeat if he thought she actually feared him. A flush still colored her cheeks and her chest rose and fell in an impassioned cadence. Were these responses created by fear? If she truly sought release, why did she not struggle against his grasp?
He touched his thumb to her bottom lip and heard her sudden intake of breath. Luc lifted a corner of his mouth, knowing beyond a doubt Giselle wanted him as much as he wanted her. But reason refused to remain silent. To act on his desire would be madness. Utter folly. He had taken an oath and, although the original plan had changed, he felt sure one day they would be found and rescued. He would complete his mission and return to claim his estate.
Then Giselle moved against that rigid part of him and Luc’s resolve died like a candle’s flame in a gale. Release? Aye, the girl would have her release. And, by Christ, so would he.
He cupped her face, bent his head, and kissed her. It was a gentle embrace, one suited to virgin lips. He moved his mouth over hers, touching the seam of her mouth with his tongue. She tasted of salt and the way she leaned into him drew a growl from deep in his throat.
Her lips opened beneath his and she whimpered as his tongue met hers. Luc’s heart beat with such force he feared for his ribs. He broke the kiss. “You have no idea what you do to me,” he murmured, gazing into her eyes as he cradled her head in his hands, “and not once have I regretted saving your life.”
A small frown settled on her brow. “But…there are times when you seem to resent me.”
He smiled and pressed a kiss to the corner of her mouth. “I do not resent you, Giselle de Courtenay. I resent the way you make me feel. You are my weakness. My downfall. My torture. Since the day you stood on the deck of that stricken ship, terrified yet defiant, and released me from my oath, I have wanted you. Ached to caress you. To take you and make you mine. I fight it every day. Every waking hour. Aye, and even in my dreams.”
“I have wanted you, too.” Giselle stroked her fingertips along the line of his jaw. “I have dreamed of being in your arms. Of being kissed by you.”
There were tears in her eyes. And desire, damn it. Maybe it was due to their forced isolation. Maybe the strange atmosphere on the isle had stoked his most feral desires. Maybe it was even love. Whatever the reason, all thoughts of abstinence vanished. Luc was beyond redemption. A man drunk on arousal. He had to have her. At that moment, there was nothing he wanted more and to hell with the consequences.
He kissed her again and, this time, Giselle surrendered with more confidence, returning his kiss with unabashed passion. She whimpered and pressed against him. Luc lifted his head and hissed through his teeth.
“Easy, little maid,” he murmured, fingers seeking out and tugging at the laces of her robe. Moments later, the dress fell from her shoulders and tumbled around her feet.

How’s that for a cliffhanger!
Isolated Hearts
By Avril Borthiry
An enigmatic Scottish laird and a young French noblewoman. An unforgettable night of passion. And a subsequent quest to reunite an illegitimate girl with her Highland sire.
Giselle de Courtenay’s chosen escort is an honorable but surly knight. Luc de Warenne is less than impressed with his assignment. He’s a proud warrior, not a nursemaid. Still, all he has to do is deliver the girl safely to her Scottish father and then return to France to claim his substantial reward. It seems straightforward enough.
But fate decides to take Giselle and Luc on a detour. In a tragic turn of events, they find themselves thrown together in a fight for their lives. Their refuge, a mysterious island with its ancient circle of stones, raises more questions than answers.
After their spectacular rescue, Giselle and Luc are forced to decide where their futures lie. Will the bitterness of deception keep them apart? Or will love and a sprinkle of Highland magic lead to a happy ending?

Enjoy this next snippet from The Piper’s Lady as Garrick tries to get Lady Coira out of a tree!. Happy reading, my lovelies.
Snippet:
Coira began to scoot off the branch whilst attempting to keep her skirts in place. Garrick lifted his arms to catch her, but suddenly, Coira lost her grip on the tree. Another startled scream was torn from her lips as she began to fall.
Garrick once more captured the woman in his arms as they fell to the ground in a heap. In a repeat performance, he rolled to bear the brunt of the impact ’til she was captured beneath him. Hazel eyes stared at him in wonder, and his heart lurched in his chest.

Read on to learn what happens next while Garrick continues his conversation with a lovely lady stuck up in a tree!
Snippet:
A short snort followed by a muffled laugh had Garrick staring up at the lady perched above his head. “Well… if you are certain. I feel silly now for making such a fuss, but thank you for saving me again, Sir Knight.”
“’Tis a pleasure tae be of service tae ye once more, my lady,” Garrick said, again not correcting her assumption he had been knighted. He should do so whilst they had the rare opportunity of being alone. Still, he could not forget the earlier scene he had witnessed just a short time ago and mayhap ’twas his reasoning to let her think on him favorably for a short whilst longer. “Let us see what we can do about getting ye out of the tree now, shall we?”

First Kiss Friday with Rue Allyn
Thank you for joining me today for another First Kiss Friday! Today’s guest is my friend and fellow Bluestocking Belle Rue Allyn who has a scene from her latest release The Legend of Skinner Robelard. Happy reading and take it away, Rue!
Sherry, thank you so very much for inviting me to First Kiss Friday. This first kiss scene is from The Legend of Skinner Robelard, and I may have posted it here several months ago. For this visit, I give a bit more context to the kiss. We begin with the end of a wild celebration at a saloon.
Excerpt: He set his nearly empty mug on the bar as he walked toward the piano. He stepped over bodies littering the floor. The barkeep slept with his head pillowed on the polished wood. The piano player’s hands still moved over the keys, but the melody, if there was one, was completely unrecognizable.
“Play Goodnight Ladies,” Boyd told the pianist then reached for Elise, as the tune took shape, “Time to call it a night, Mister Skinner.”
Elise batted at his hands in a very un-masculine manner. “Naw, party’s just gettin’ started.”
At least she’d kept her mule-whacker’s voice. He grasped her waist. “All the same, you’ve got a big day tomorrow.”
She speared him with an amazingly steady gaze. “I do?”
“Yeah, you do.”
“’Kay.” Her eyes closed, and she fell forward.
Boyd caught her and settled her against his chest, one of his arms supporting her back, one under her knees. The hat she always wore to hide her hair tilted against his face, blocking his vision.
The music stopped. A hand took hold of Elise’s hat and moved it to cover her face. Over it, Boyd’s gaze met that of the piano man.
The man studied the room. “Ain’t no one t’ hear me. So, you take good care of her. And stop looking at her like she’s a girl. You’ll give her away.”
Boyd tried to look surprised. “How many people know?”
“A few folks Robelard trusts. Did most of ‘em a good turn at one time or another, like she did me. Won’t none of us say nothin’. It’s someone like you who’s the greatest danger. Skinner’s friends all love her enough to make any sacrifice needed, but we ain’t in love with her.”
Boyd snorted. “You got that all wrong, Mister.” In love with a hellion shemale? That’s plain loco.
The pianist raised an eyebrow. “I know what I see. You just see you don’t hurt her, or half of Wyoming will string you up whether they know she’s a girl or not. Ain’t no one don’t like and respect Skinner Robelard.”
“I don’t intend any harm.”
“Even good intentions can hurt. Now git her outta here. Somma these saddle bums are startin’ t’ stir.”
Boyd had caught slight movements in his peripheral vision, so he didn’t argue. Skirting around drunks and furniture he got himself and Elise outside. Before he stepped off the boardwalk, he scanned the street in both directions. Nothing moved. All the same, a prickle on his nape made him keep to the shadow of the buildings rather than taking the smoother route down the middle of the street.
A five-minute walk brought him to the boarding house. He circled the building and entered by the back door headed for the kitchen stairs. Miz Riper must have retired. Only the cat dozing before the potbelly took brief notice of him and his burden before going back to sleep.
Halfway up the stairs, Elise woke up. She jerked awake. Her hat pushed upward, blocking his vision and knocking his own hat to the floor. Her head banged into his chin, forcing him to bite the inside of his cheek. He stumbled, twisting this way and that to keep his balance until her fist struck his shoulder.
“Ow.” He sat with a thump.
“Put me down, you cock-assed son of a bull-moose.”
He glared at her and released her immediately.
Poised on his lap for a long two seconds, she grabbed her hat then slid downwards, pushing herself off his legs onto the stairs. Once she stopped moving, she put her hat on her head and looked back at him.
A sheepish grin spread across her face.”
What the hell does she have to smile about? Boyd glared all the harder.
Elise grasped her middle and subsided into a fit of giggles.
He lunged for her, slapped his hand across her mouth, and anchored her against the stairs with his body. “Will you be quiet, or do you want to bring Miz Riper and the other boarders down on us,” he hissed.
Against his hand, laughter still burbled. Against his body, hers wriggled as the laughing fit shook her, and he went instantly hard. Damn, this had to stop or he’d take her right there, Miz Riper and disguises be damned. He had to shut Elise up. He refused to use force; striking a woman was just wrong. So, he used the only part of his body he was certain would do the job.
He covered her mouth with his. The giggles faded into a hum. Her arms went around his neck and hot damn if she didn’t kiss him back. Enthusiastically, to the delight of his least responsible organ. Inexpertly, to his surprise. She’d been an innocent when he first met her. He’d assumed she’d have learned a few things in the past five years, but her kiss told another story. He lifted his head. Kissing a drunk woman was almost as wrong as hitting one, but how else was he supposed to keep her quiet.
She stilled instantly, but she didn’t pull away. How could she, with him plastering her to the stairs? She had to be uncomfortable. He started to ease away. But her hands grabbed his neck and pulled him back. She attacked his mouth, thrust her hands into his hair, and gentled her kiss to tiny nips on his lower lip.
She wanted kisses? Well, they’d do it right or not at all. He opened his mouth over hers. It took her a moment, but she opened in return, and her tongue tangled with his, her mastery of the basic mechanics growing as she copied every move he made. Boyd’s head spun. We can’t do this on the stairs. He rolled over. Elise clung and rolled with him, ending with their positions reversed.
He felt the stair treads press into his spine and his shoulders, but more, he felt the firing of every nerve as she stroked his arms, throat and chest. Chest? When did my buttons come undone?
“Elise, stop.”
“No.” She’d left off kissing his lips to nuzzle the fine hairs of his torso. Her hands raced downward.
He caught her wrist before she could unbuckle his belt.
“You don’t know what you’re doing?”
“Do, too.” She slipped from his grip and aimed for his trouser buttons.
“No.” He lifted her bodily away and sat her beside him. “You don’t. You’re drunk.”
Her expression would have done a mule proud. “I know how to handle my liquor.”
“Maybe.”
She added a glare to the mulish set of her jaw.
“Probably.”
Her mouth twisted, and she folded her arms before her.
“All right, definitely. You definitely know how to handle your liquor, but I don’t know how to handle you.”
She dropped her arms, and a smile replaced the mule imitation. “Way I see it; you did some pretty good handling just now.”
He wanted to puff out his chest and preen like a rooster. Instead he bowed his head and stared at his room key on the floor. When had that fallen out? “I’m glad you liked it, but I shouldn’t have. I took advantage of you.”
She stood in a blink. If she’d been taller, he would have said she loomed. Her mouth opened and closed like a squawking chicken. “For your information, Mr. Alvarez,” she growled in an angry whisper. “No one—I repeat—no one takes advantage of Elise Van Demer. You didn’t do anything I didn’t want you to do. But I’ve changed my mind. Don’t. Ever. Touch. Me. Again. Ever.”
“Since I shouldn’t be touching you, that suits me fine.”
“Good.” She bent and swept the key into her hands then retreated up the stairs.
She’d taken his key. Boyd turned to go after her, then slumped back to the steps. He’d get it from her later, or he’d wake Miz Riper and get her to unlock his room. First, he wanted some time to think over what had just happened.
The kiss had been fantastic, way beyond fantastic in fact. He couldn’t deny he wanted more, and if she’d done this before, maybe… No point in maybes. Next thing, he’d be convincing himself that she’d had a dozen lovers, and one more time wouldn’t matter, and that was two lies right there. Yes, she’d more or less attacked him, but he knew an innocent when he kissed one. And under all the dirt, she was a decent woman. Decent women cared about the men they let into their beds. Elise deserves a man who plans to stick around, and that isn’t me.

New Release ~ The Piper’s Lady
Oh happy day! I’m always so excited when I can release another book baby out into the world. Although The Piper’s Lady was previously released in the boxset Never Too Late with the Bluestocking Belles, it’s gotten a facelift with new material and a new ending. It took me a while to finally get around to adding to this lovely sweet novella so that Garrick of Clan MacLaren and Lady Coira Norwood now have the happily ever after ending they deserved. I hope you’ll enjoy this new version and the return to many beloved characters in my Knights of Berwyck series!

Last week, Garrick learned that Coira was afraid of a snake slithering through the forest. Happy reading, my lovelies!
Snippet:
“’Twas a harmless reptile, my lady. Besides, where else should a snake be living except in a forest? Ye are treading in their territory when ye venture tae take a walk amongst the trees. Truly, such a little animal would not have done ye harm.”
“Are you sure?”
“Aye, Lady Coira.”

New Release ~ Holiday Escapes
One day, not too many weeks ago, I got a bee in my bonnet and asked the Bluestocking Belles if we should re-release the novellas from Mistletoe, Marriage & Mayhem which was no longer available. I ran with it and got the boxset up in record time. So today, we’re celebrating four of the original novellas (plus two new short stories) that are now in Holiday Escapes! We hope our readers will love having all these stories available again in one box set… just in time for your holiday reading pleasure.

Holidays, relatives, pressure to marry—sometimes it is all too much. Is it any wonder a woman may need to escape? The heroines in this collection of stories aren’t afraid to take matters into their own hands when they’ve had enough.
The Ultimate Escape, by Susana Ellis – On the eve of her wedding, Julia needs to take a moment to consider what she is doing, and where better than 100 years in the past? Unfortunately, Oliver finds a way to chase her through time.
Under the Mistletoe, by Sherry Ewing – Margaret Templeton will settle for Captain Morledge’s hand in marriage, until she sees the man she once loved at her second-best bridegroom’s Christmas party.
Gingerbread Bride, by Jude Knight – Travelling with her father’s fleet has not prepared Mary Pritchard for London. When she strikes out on her own, she finds adventure, trouble, and her girlhood hero, riding once more to her rescue.
A Dangerous Nativity, by Caroline Warfield – With Christmas coming, can the Earl of Chadbourn repair his widowed sister’s damaged estate, and far more damaged family? Dare he hope for love in the bargain?
These stories are republished here at 20% of the cost of collecting them all from each individual author.
Two bonus short stories round out the collection.

First Kiss Friday with The Piper’s Lady
Welcome to my First Kiss Friday blog! With the release of The Piper’s Lady this coming Tuesday, I had to give you the second kiss between our hero Garrick of Clan MacLaren and our heroine Lady Coira Norwood since I previously shared their first. I hope everyone will enjoy this novella, along with the extra material and new ending, and a return to Berwyck Castle and its people. You’ll see some familiar faces along with a ghost I can never forget. Happy reading, my lovelies, and enjoy!

Excerpt:
Coira closed her eyes and waited for the moment when Garrick would kiss her again. Her lips parted. Their breaths mingled and yet… nothing. Her eyes opened, and she gazed into green eyes as vivid as the forest around them. She could not mistake the expectation held within those flashing orbs, which mirrored her own desires.
“Are ye sure this is what ye want, sweet Coira?” he whispered, and she swooned at the way he rolled the R in her name with his Scottish brogue. “Just tell me tae put an end tae what we might start, and I shall let ye return tae the castle untouched.”
“I cannot tell you to halt.” She ran her fingers through his tawny colored hair till she urged his head forward. “I have never been more certain of anything in my entire life, Sir Knight.”
’Twas all the encouragement he needed. He swooped down and took possession of her mouth. Aye, this kiss was entirely different from the one they had shared but moments before. His mouth devoured hers with deep sweeping strokes of his tongue. Coira willingly surrendered herself to the sensations Garrick awakened in her. Since she was unsure of what would please him, she followed his lead and mimicked what he was doing, drawing his tongue further into her mouth.
He groaned deep in his throat. ’Twas a distinct primeval sound, and Coira would have smiled knowing she had pleased him, if her lips had been free to perform such a feat. He continued to plunder her mouth. ’Twas a pleasant assault on her senses she did not want to end.
The bark of the tree pushed into her back but she cared not. Her current position enabled her to revel in the awareness of every inch of her body pressed intimately against the hardness of the knight who held her tightly in his arms. Her heart furiously beat within her chest when he deepened their kiss. Surely Garrick could hear the clamor himself of what he was doing to her. She never wanted this moment to end, but how long would it be before someone came looking for her?
’Twas as though he read her thoughts as they crossed her mind, for he suddenly broke off their kiss.
Coira gasped to catch her breath, and they took their ease, foreheads gently touching. “That had to be the most perfect first kiss,” she murmured, holding his shoulders for support. She knew, if she let go, she would crumble to the ground in a heap of pleasure. No one had ever made her feel so alive before.
He chuckled. “’Twas our second, if we are counting, sweet Coira.”
She laughed with him and smiled, happy about what she had unexpectedly found with this man. “Aye. I suppose you have that aright, Sir Garrick.”

When last we checked in with Garrick of Clan MacLaren, he had just learned that Lady Coira had scooted up a tree in terror of a hideous snake! Read on and enjoy, my lovelies!
Snippet:
Garrick attempted not to laugh, drew his sword and began poking around the low shrubbery. He at last saw Coira’s monster slithering away, minding its own business. He picked up the snake with the tip of his blade before giving the reptile a toss to ease the lady’s mind.
Coira gave a sigh of relief. “You should have killed the beast so ’twould not harm another venturing in the woods,” she scolded.
