Past memories and family

My favorite pass time with my Aunt was garage sale’s on the weekends when I was around eight. I don’t really know why I loved garage sale’s so much back then, maybe it was being able to go out with my Aunt and cousin who usually came with, some times she would take us to the beach too.
My Aunt moved to California a long time ago, and I didn’t really see her that much, but always thought about her and the other family that moved and lives out there.
She became an elementary school teacher, and married out there around ninety-seven, which I flew out for the wedding and reception with some family. For the most part the reception was a blur to me other than Karaoke, that turned out to be surprisingly fun. I remember my dad and his three-brother’s singing Hotel California. Most of my other memories of that wedding were the toilet and the bushes.
Some of the other memories was how my Aunt would always speak her mind when she felt she needed to. She will be missed.
On a lighter note, I was able to see some family that I haven’t seen for sixteen years or so, and they all looked good and are doing well. I was glad to be able to spend some time with them. It was nice to see them after so long and reconnect with them. The one thing people should know is, we love to drink and we’re rowdy when we get together.
I enjoyed some of the memories that other family members had of my Aunt.

Goodreads giveaway, and books in general
Congratulations to all the winners on the goodreads book giveaway, I will get all the books out as soon as possible. I did have to hold the release date off for a couple weeks due to some editing issues, I apologize for that, but the issues are being taken care of, as soon as it is done I’ll get them all out in the mail.
There is one thing I realized while reading the last book I read, I love physical copies of books. I always buy digital copies, but end up buying the physical copy anyways. I love being home with the light on and turning the pages. For some reason, I don’t get that feeling when I read digital copies. I have so many books, I don’t know what I’ll do with them all. I do go back every once and a while to find something I read in a book from a couple years ago, that I wanted to reread. My bookshelf is set up to have my favorite books in it; the books I think about. I just don’t get any of those feelings when I read digital books. Not that digital books are bad, I personally don’t find them as fun as real books. Digital copies let you buy the book cheaper; sometimes, and you can have the book right then. Physical copies of books are more expensive, but there is one thing that they have that I don’t get from digital copies. After the ending of the book, after it’s reached its climax and is resting itself in my head, or that feeling that I get of being blown away by the ending; I get to close the book and give out a sigh, and say that was really good, then read the back cover over, as though I missed something or a yearning wishing the book was longer or had more to read. I don’t know if that is true or not.
One thing I can say for sure right now is, I have a head cold and any kind of lights are giving me a headache right now; including typing this, so a kindle book is no good, had to order a couple books off Amazon today.
I’m curious about other readers, do you feel the same way about books and eBooks or are you the other way around? I’d love to hear what other people think about the two, or what you prefer?

Chicago Auto show, pictures, book giveaway, and t-shirts
This weekend was the Chicago Auto Show. I have so many videos and photos to go through. I was thinking of making a new tab on my web page so people can see them. I’ve already posted several on twitter. I'll put some on Facebook soon. It is probably going to take me a week or so to go through all the pictures and pick the ones I like, but I’ll post a couple of my favorites down below. With a new picture of Bruno at the vet, there’s a story behind it which is too long; I tell you guys about it another time. This weekend was exhausting, but was well worth it. I gave out over twenty books, ten t-shirts, pens, and bookmarks. I’ll post some pictures of the Nissan Rogue, that I had to see for myself. All and all I think Ford had the best display, even though I would have liked to seen some concept cars from them; that's a hint for Ford for next year. I did get a couple from Toyota.
I was thinking of giving away t-shirts as a special book giveaway of 5 signed copy's on goodreads, but I’ll have to think of a way to get the sizes people would want, maybe have them tell me the size in a direct message. Of course, the front of the t-shirt is a picture of my book cover and the back is my favorite slogan, “Is your mind safe anymore?”-picture at the bottom.
Congratulations to all the kindle book winners of In Between Dreams on Twitter, I hope you enjoy the mystery.

Mischievous puppies and an auto show
My dog Tazzie was a handful when she was a puppy, that is why I named her Tazzie after the cartoon. Tazzie is about six years old now, she was rescued in the Kankakee river, with eight of her brother’s, sister’s, and mom who were dumped by some jerk. She has a bump on her nose where it broke a piece of her skull off. She's the best dog I’ve ever had, and is smart too, sometimes too smart.
After getting two more puppies I realized that all puppies are just bad, there is no going around it. They’re six months old. Buttercup is the mischievous one, she loves getting into stuff, anything she can reach while standing on her hind legs is her hobby. Bruno, who is all muscle, and twice as big as his twin sister, gets whatever his sister grabs from the counter and eats, that goes for anything, including something weird they may find outside. I constantly need to watch them. Recently, I caught Bruno eating a pop can they found outside. Here is a small list of the stuff they’ve gotten a hold of in the last month that I caught them eating, including, but not limited to: napkins, plastic, paper, pens, anything electrical, shoes, controllers, CD's and socks. Those are the items that I’ve found them chewing on. I have no idea on the stuff I didn’t see. When I pick up after them outside, I always end up wondering where they got some of the items that hang out of their stool.
Recently, one of my dogs got a hold of Tazzie’s medication, I was thankful that it wasn’t harmful to them, but my cat seemed to have a hand in that case, she helped knock it off the counter so the dogs could get it; it's a conspiracy, with all the animals involved.
They’re just puppies, but a pain in the butts. I always feel like one of them is keeping my attention while the other one is getting something they shouldn’t be, as though it was planned from the beginning. Just like I picture my dogs listening to rock music and banging their heads while I'm at work, like in the animated movie, The Secret Life of Pets.
Below are some picture of the pain in the puppies, the 1st picture is right after I brought the little adorable trash eaters home; they are Bullies. The 2nd picture is of them coming in after playing in the mud, Buttercup is on the left, Bruno is on the right. The last picture is Tazzie, who is part lab and chow.
On another note, The Chicago Auto Show is going on now, I’ll be there the 18 and 19, promoting my new book, giving away t-shirts, copies of my first book, and some other stuff as well. I want to check out the Nissan Rogue’s Star Wars Edition crossover vehicle with wings, that’s funny, it has wings. I need some pictures of that.
Have a good week,
Eugene

Pre-order winners, review, and a character
This is my first blog for the month February, here are the winners:
Customer 53 Sandra, Florida
Customer 28 Denise, Washington
Congratulations on winning, and as an added bonus, both books will be pre-loaded on the laptops, and of course you’ll get the physical copy.
Thank you for your support and interest in my work.
All the other pre-orders I've received will get a couple special gifts as well.
I received a fantastic review of In Between Dreams, that I thought I would share, you can check it out at this link: https://goo.gl/xevzNy
On another note, I’ve read and gone over my first book so many times, I have dreams of it. But, the one thing that has always stuck out every time I have read it is, one character that I thought about deleting, Ethan. If you've read the book, you know why.
Looking back at the book, there were several reasons I decided to keep that character. One, it showed how unstable Junior was. Two, it showed where Toby was is with his thoughts. Above all else, if Ethan wasn’t there Cody wouldn’t be fighting as hard as he was; Haggs, probably wouldn’t get anywhere in his investigation. Ethan brought all those elements together.
I guess you can say, it’s just a side note I thought I would share.

Death and the future
Death is always an easy topic when writing a character in a book. I can kill him off instantly, he or she may die of natural causes, there’s so many possibilities, that I probably will never learn them all.
I was in a discussion with a friend over death recently; probably, not the way you would think anyways. I was asked what I would want done with my body after I die? Halfheartedly, I said cremated. They asked me why, don’t you want to be buried with your family? That really wasn’t the issue for me, I don’t like the idea of bugs and worms feeding on my body while I’m eight feet under. I’d rather just be cremated to feel the pain just one time rather than over time, ridiculous, right? I was told that’s just stupid, your dead you won’t feel a thing. That was exactly my point from the beginning, but felt like having the pointless conversation.
But truth be told, who say’s we have no feelings when we die? Science? Common sense? It doesn’t really matter. In the back of my head I always wonder, if I’m buried and dead maybe my soul is trapped or some other name if you like.
My truthful answer, I rather be cryogenically frozen; depending how I die and how old I am. I love the idea of a slim chance that I could come back to life in two to ten thousand years from now, just to see what has come of our earth and the way life has changed; or if there is much life left at all. If laws are crazy, like people being arrested for not recycling. Crazy stuff like that, even if it was for ten minutes, it would be worth it.
One of my Characters that pops his head in my next book, Burning Through Their Eyes is Adam Lorn, who has visions of the future, and he has his own book of what the future may hold for us, if things continue the way they are. He’s always looking for a way to change that future for the better, because his future is pretty grim for us.
The book I’m writing right now though is, The Devil’s Circus, about immortal Circus entertainers that deal with suicides and the regrets people have after committing suicide. They try anything they can to come back to life after their selfish death; it has its own twist on what happens to people after suicide, and the monsters they become. I’m pretty excited about it, and a lot of the profits for that book are going to AFSP, if you don’t know what that is, you should. I haven’t decided yet, but I may throw a chapter or two of that book at the end of the book I’m releasing next month.
always looking forward to you own opinions and thoughts.
Thanks,
Eugene

Dreams, and how they affect us
Dreams, are on my mind all the time. I was listening to the radio and heard about a woman that had a dream about her husband cheating on her, then killed him; and yes it is true. I read an article about a woman beating her boyfriend half to death with a baseball bat, because of a dream she had that he was cheating on her. Turns out, he really did cheat on her; Some type of telepathic connection.
I’ve personally, woken up from dreams where I’ve been covered in cold sweats, thinking someone or something was trying to kill me.
Sadly, I remember a time I ended up on the couch sleeping. My girlfriend at the time had a dream of me cheating on her. I remember being cozy, warm, and sleeping under the blankets, then being violently kicked out of my bed hitting the floor; in the middle of the night no less. I do recall later asking her, who I was cheating on her with? I was curious about the answer, but magically, she forgot about that embarrassing night.
The amazing part about dreams, is our mind. Our brain tricks us, giving us senses in the dream that just feel too real to not be real.
I'm intrigued at the fact that dreams have a large impact on our daily lives, at least from my point of view. If I wake up with a good dream in my head, I feel pretty good throughout the day. Bad dreams, well let’s say I don’t feel the enthusiasm I normally would when I wake up. If there is a day I don’t remember a dream when I’m waking up in the morning, forget about it. It feels like the world might be ending, and I can’t hit my snooze button fast enough on the alarm clock.
My favorite dreams, are the ones that motivate me to get up and write about them in detail. Possibly, turn it into my next book at any moment, or an idea that gives me energy for hours while I write or keeps me inspired throughout the day.
I'm interested in hearing your thoughts, on your dreams, anything similar, or embarrassing that you laugh at now?

Book giveaway, and other things
If you haven't entered for a chance at a free copy of my new book Burning Through Their Eyes go to goodreads: https://goo.gl/x1iZyT
to enter, they have lots of book giveaways daily. If your a book lover, like me, it is a good place to check them out.
Coming up shortly is what I am looking forward to; it's not the Superbowl. The Chicago car show, that I will be at, promoting my new book and giving out some t-shirts and looking at the concept cars. I also have to check out the new Ford Bronco they're bringing back, that everyone is talking about. I will also upload all the pictures I took from the car show on my site.
The picture I uploaded below is a picture I took from a couple years ago, it reminded me of the old 80's futuristic cars they always used in movies.
I will talk about what day's you have a chance at getting t-shirts and more when the car show gets closer.
The pre-order contestants will be announced on my first blog of February.
The reason I decided to change web host is the SSL certificate, that I wanted for my customers who asked for a more secure page and myself who felt the same way. When I asked my host for it they told me it's safe, but that isn't what I wanted. That would be like me telling someone the water is safe and finding out it might not be water at all, but a pool of acid, without the sign.
On that matter I appreciated the concerns some of my customers emailed me about and I felt the same way.
Thank you,
Eugene

New web host, bear with me
I am in the middle of switching web hosts, and started building my website over from scratch, I apologize. I probably won't be done completely for a couple weeks.
On another note, I waited until I got the hundred pre-orders of my new book, Burning Through Their Eyes, before switching hosts.
The winners will be announced on my blog here and on the home page. I appreciate all the interest in my new book, and hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did writing it.

Damn red light out to get me?
I don't know if it is me or a stop light is out to get me, you decide.
How could that be you ask, it's a light?
Hear me out.
I've worked and drove up to the light for over three years. I can count on one hand how many times it has been green, as I pass it. Do the math, tell me the light isn't out to get me. That's twice a day, 5 to 6 days a week, for three years.
Here is what I imagine when I come around a curve, it sees me then says, "Yes... here he comes..!" then turns red. On top of that, I
