Solembum
Often a companion of Angela the herbalist, the werecat Solembum would ultimately provide vital information to rescue the dragon race and end Galbatorix’s reign.

Nothing is known about Solembum’s life prior to the first time he met Eragon in Angela’s herbal shop in Teirm. The young Dragon Rider thought Solembum was a normal cat until the werecat began communicating with him telepathically. When Angela discovered the two talking, she explai...

Tenga
Tenga was an elder magician who lived in Edur Ithindra during the events of the Inheritance Cycle. He often mumbled to himself.

Eragon was on his way back from destroying the Ra’zac in Helgrind when he first encountered Tenga, who sensed him watching and offered a meal in exchange for help weeding around pea plants in his garden. Eragon was surprised a short time later not o...

March 2018 Update: #TSiaSoS

Greetings Friends!
As promised, a quick March 2018 update on the status of my sci-fi book #TSiaSoS (yes, the title is still top secret). I’m currently working through a round of rewrites in order to nail down some changes to the story. The work is going super fast, so I’m confident I’ll have it done in a few months. Christopher Recommends: A Natural History of Dragons
A Natural History of Dragons: A Memoir by Lady Trent, by Marie Brennan, is a superb novel in every regard. It’s a classic, first-person adventure full of travel, science, and of course, dragons. The writing is clean, concise, and well-assured. The characters are interesting—especially the main one, Isabella. The plotting is clockwork-tight. And the worldbuilding is a masterpiece of sophisticated evocation. It’s clear that Brennan has put an enormous amount of thought and research into her cra...

Ajihad
Ajihad was born a member of the wandering tribes. Not much more is known of his past. His deceased wife, Nadara’s, cousin was leader of the Inapashunna tribe, so there is some possibility that Ajihad may have been Inapuashunna as well.
He became the steward of Enduriel’s main estate and was forced to swear oaths of allegiance in the ancient language. By this time, he and Nadara had their daughter, Nasuada. Some time later, Nadara passed away. Ajihad was able to gain freedom when he discovered...

Ursula K. Le Guin – An Appreciation
Much has been written about Ursula K. Le Guin since her passing, and for good reason. She had a huge influence on our culture. There’s little I can say about her that hasn’t already been said, but sometimes it’s the saying itself that is important. Like so many others, Le Guin’s books had a profound effect on me, both as a person and as an author. Just last month, I reread the first three entries in the Earthsea series, and once again I was struck by the depth of her mastery.
