Live for Today – Awarded Gold Seal
So exciting! From the US Review of Books, Live for Today receives a positive review. The gold seal of literary excellence has also been awarded!

In the second book of Sandra Steiner’s Spring Island Trilogy, we meet the central character Lily, a young woman who seems a lost soul. Throughout most of her life, Lily has been plagued by disturbing dreams and unable to remember the early years of her childhood. Now settled in the quaint island town of Seaside, she lives with her pet terrier Lucy, and owns the local Driftwood Diner. In a resolving effort to put the past behind her, Lily secures a two month caretaking position for a woman dealing with cancer. In Rollingway, the recurring town of her dreams, Lily will piece together her fragmented memories. With both literal and figurative newfound “Joy” (Steiner’s well-chosen name for Lily’s long lost sibling), readers will share in the uncovering of long hidden family secrets. Here the author infuses a fluid storyline with connections of love, family discord, adoption, kidnapping, and eventually self-discovery.
Steiner makes good use of classic mystery elements, as journals, diaries, hidden safes, and secret rooms prove useful in Lily’s unraveling of her familial history. Though the island takes on a less prominent role here, compared to Book One, it still provides an ideal respite, particularly for Olivia, the recovering cancer patient and serves as a place for family to reunite. Like the soothing cups of tea savored throughout the storyline, both offer solace and a moment for characters and readers to ponder new clues and information. There seems a minor overlapping timeframe between Books One and Two in this trilogy. Though ultimately as the plot plays out, the non-sequential order of events is resolved.

How can I help?
I’m a published author now. What exactly does that mean? It means that I put a lot of time and effort into writing two novels. It means my husband and I invested money in my dream.
Now the hard part begins. Trying to get my novels in the hands of those that will be inspired by them. That’s where you my friends and family come in.
Maybe my genre of contemporary inspirational romance and mystery doesn’t interest you. Maybe my writing style is not your favourite. But you can still help me realize the next part of my dream. Here’s how!
Ten things you can do to help an author promote their work:
1. Buy the book!
2. Read the work!
3. Provide positive feedback to the author!
4. Make suggestions on improving TO the author!
5. Post a positive review for other prospective buyers on amazon, goodreads and facebook.
6. Share a post or book link on social media.
7. Encourage the author when they stumble.
8. Diffuse drama, to avoid negative publicity for the author.
9. Be a beta reader at the early stages of writing.
10. Be there for the author on release day. Provide support.

Happiness…an inside job!
Happiness comes from deep inside, so it makes sense if our soul is at peace and happy you will be as well. As humans we have the ability to turn our mood around, it’s simply a state of mind. We can choose to be happy about what we do have, where we are, and where we are going! Or we can choose to be angry and upset. It’s all a choice.
I believe we are each in control of our own destiny, some of us choose to work harder to make our dreams come true. Others coast through life, unconcerned about what they don’t have. It is not our job to judge, but to accept everyone for who they are.
Where I object is when I’m faced with someone so bitter and angry that they impact a good day just with their presence. Totally unacceptable. If your grouchy and bitter, please just stay away, I work too hard to be a positive, cheerful friend to many.
Life is so short, I choose to live each moment as happy as I can be! I choose to smile at a stranger and perhaps make their day a little better. I choose to look past the mistakes to the positives. I choose to wake up each morning grateful for the day!
