Eve Devon’s Book Birthday Party!

Happy Monday…er, Tuesday, right? I’m thrilled to have a guest today, Eve Devon, who is another Entangled Ignite author. It’s her book The Waiting Game’s first birthday!

I’ll invite the new June  Ignite releases here in a day or so, too!

So, here’s Eve!

Firsts…

So The Waiting Game turns one year old today and as it was my debut book it got me thinking about all the firsts I experienced with its publication.

This year has flown by, but I can still remember the flutter in my heart when I first saw ‘copyright by’ and the copyright symbol next to my name.

And seeing my cover for the first time? I can admit that it took me a while to realize Big Ben was in the background—I was distracted by something in the foreground. Abs can say so much, don’t you think?!

Then there was seeing my book appear on all the bookseller sites that I usually purchased books from. Typing in my name and having my book pop up to buy—yep, total rush!

But as I raise my glass in celebration of The Waiting Game being out a year, the absolute icing on the cake was the first time a reader took the time to contact me and tell me how much they enjoyed my book.

I think that’s why all the firsts surrounding the release of your debut book are so special. The fact that people are prepared to take a chance on a new voice and without any pre-judging dive right in for an adventure, well, it’s the greatest of compliments. It is also why writers write—to share a story.

If you’ve been looking for the next adventure to dive right into, then consider the wait over! Here are all the details you need to immerse yourself in The Waiting Game:

Blurb:

Five years ago a madman stalked her. Kidnapped her. Tattooed her.

When security expert Cameron Dexter—the man Brooke Bennett once loved—appears unexpectedly at her door with terrifying news, the former musician discovers she can no longer hide from her past. After five years, her vicious kidnapper is out of prison and on the hunt—for Brooke.

Now he’s returned to complete his art.

Cam failed to protect Brooke once before. Now he’d rather die than let her be captured. With her life at stake, Cam vows to keep her hidden and safe. Brooke, however, is done with running. Unlike Cam, she wants to stand and fight. Emotions both old and new roil between them, but addressing their heated past must wait. Together they set a trap in London to catch a killer. But they soon discover the enemy wears many faces…

And waiting is no longer an option.

Bio: Growing up in locations like Botswana and Venezuela gave me quite the taste for adventure and my love for romances began when my mother shoved one into my hands in a desperate attempt to keep me quiet during TV coverage of the Wimbledon tennis finals! When I wasn’t consuming books by the bucketload, I could be found pretending to be a damsel in distress or running around solving mysteries and writing down my adventures. As a teenager, I wrote countless episodes of TV detective dramas so the hero and heroine would end up together every week. As an adult, I worked in a library to conveniently continue consuming books by the bucketload, until realising I was destined to write contemporary romance and romantic suspense myself. I live in leafy Surrey in the UK, a book-devouring, slightly melodramatic, romance-writing sassy heroine with my very own sexy hero husband!

Summer Reading

It’s here! I think it’s really, finally here!

SUMMER!

Stella Takes Her First Swim of the Summer

Stella Takes Her First Swim of the Summer

We’re spending the weekend getting our camp set up. And by camp I mean opening the kind of fancy fifth wheel travel trailer, getting the lawn furniture set up, making sure there’s toilet paper and plenty of bug spray.

Not exactly roughing it.

I’m also gathering the summer reading material. What are you going to read this summer? Right now I’ve got How to Marry a HIghlander on my Kindle app, and Kristen Ashley in paperback (one she signed for me at RT: SQUEE!).

I just finished The Fault of Our Stars by John Greene, and cried all the way through it. When I wasn’t laughing. How incredible!

One thing I might suggest for your reading list? DEADLY CHEMISTRY, by Teri Anne Stanley. It releases in just one month from Entangled!  I’ll post buy-links and all that good stuff as soon as they are ready!  I can’t wait to see the cover!

There Is Strangeness In My Brain

That’s not really a news flash. Anyone who knows me understands that seemingly disconnected statements sometimes (!) pop past my verbal filter. There are a lot of funny jokes that work really well in my brain, but fall flat once out of my mouth–usually because I skipped some sort of processing step. And sometimes I just think odd thoughts and have to share them.

But it’s been a long time since  I remembered a dream. And last night’s was a doozy. So I’m going to tell you about it, just because I can.

I dreamt my mom and I were standing in my driveway, and from nowhere (okay, from the sky) appeared a military helicopter. It dove right down near us and shot a bumper thing out of it’s front end, bounced off the street and did a flippy thing in the air.

And then a soldier guy in a Transformers suit jumped out and did more flippy things in the air, and off the hood of my car, with his transformer armor/wings/stilts stuff, and then flew back into the helicopter and disappeared.

And that’s all that happened. What on earth do you suppose THAT means?

APRIL releases from ENTANGLED IGNITE !

Yay!  I also have a post to put up as part of a blog hop I’m participating in, but I’m going to hold off on that one for a little bit, just because I’ve been, um, maybe procrastinating a little bit…

But I wanted to show you the yummy new releases from Ignite this month. They’re all .99 right now, too!

Here’s the link to the Entangled page, blurbs and buy links are all there:

SWAG season

There.

I made a new banner.

AND I ordered some buttons. AND some new business cards. I’m cutting myself off, though…the temptation to get coffee mugs and t-shirts and keychains and…well, it’s all pretty fun to futz around playing with all that stuff online. But I really need to be writing, so I’m done ordering promotional stuff.

Well, I might still get a personalized phone case. I’m trying to make myself wait until I have a cover for Deadly Chemistry. Because I think what I REALLY need is a semi-nekkid hot guy in my pocket, or plastered to the side of my head.

I’m getting excited for RT…and Lori Foster, after that!  Tis the season for conferences. I only wish I could go to EVERYONE of them.

Maybe next year…I mean, the day job is nice and all, but they don’t REALLY need me there, do they?

Choosing a new, improved me!

My original tagline, above, goes with my All Fun, All Romantic Suspense, All the Time self. But I also write contemporary romance without all the crime and punishment (punishment. heh. heh). So I spent WAY too long today, messing around with ideas, but I had fun!

Here’s my elevator resume: I write contemporary romance and romantic suspense that is equal parts funny and sexy–and mostly set in Kentucky.

And I made some banners–I can switch it all around, because I’m just that good with Photoshop…so I want to know what you think, especially about my taglines!banner love laughter nekkid psycho

Happy Ignite Release Day!

Whoo Hoo!

It’s release day for three of my Ignite home-girls…three awesome tales of suspense and romance. And suspenseful romance. I could go on and on, but I have my own books to work on, and that crazy day job, so I’ll just give you the links and suggest  you head on over there and check ‘em out!

In no particular order, we have YOU AGAIN, by Ashlee Mallory, and can I just say that high school teachers didn’t look like this when I was there…

Annnd, LIE BY NIGHT, by Cathy Marlowe. Look at the triceps on that hero. Unless he’s the bad guy, and then I might want to step over to the dark side…

I’m still goin’ strong!

That’s what the little “hello dolly” thingy in the upper corner of my dashboard says. I’m not sure WHY I have the “hello dolly” thingy, but the Bearded Wonder felt like it was important when he helped me set up my website.

But it seems appropriate today, especially since it took a good five minutes–okay, forty-five, if you count snooze button hits–to get out of bed this morning.

*cue rusty hinge sound now*

But anyway. Today is the REAL BIRTHDAY day. The climax (heh) of BIRTHDAY WEEK.

And guess what ELSE I found has a March, 1964 birthday! The Midlife Crisis! That’s what I call my own personal little red convertible Mustang. Mine came off the line somewhere in 2012, but here’s me, driving around in it’s mom:
