Christmas Crafting
It’s a Christmas workshop over here. There is literally glitter and peppermint sprinkles everywhere. (I also have the entire Michael Buble Christmas album memorized. :P) We have our dining table covered with scrapbooking stuff and our breakfast nook table covered in cookie making stuff.
My siblings are wowing me their creativity. We have wreath cookies, an adorable snowman, a few UYC (unidentified yummy cookies), and some delicate snowflakes. My brother also made a house out of sugar cookies. O.o. I attempted a Tardis, but I’m afraid the blue frosting wasn’t the right shade.
Book Review: The Father Christmas Confessions
[image error] “What if Santa Claus isn’t one man? What if he is a secret organization?
Jeremy Ogden has 25 days to accomplish his mission. Just like every man in his family, he has a list of people whose lives can be changed forever if he makes it to them in time. But he has one big problem…And her name is Virginia.
Virginia Kipyard is the last girl in the world Jeremy wants to hold his family’s ancient secret, until it becomes apparent that she might be the key to handling the hardest assignment he has ever faced. He just has to keep her out of trouble in the meantime. But that is easier said than done, even for a Father Christmas.” (from Goodreads)
The first time I read this book (last month, to be exact), I rated it five stars but now I’m reconsidering that. It’s probably a lot closer to six stars. (Maybe it’s because this time around I caught more references. Or maybe it’s because my sister and I giggled so much over the banter. We even started casting actors…

Let It “Snow”
We live in the desert Southwest, so snow is one thing we don’t get around Christmastime. (It does get cooler at night, though, which is pretty nice.)

A Passel of Parcels
I love the post office. Rows and rows of boxes and mailers line the walls. (Cue my paper and container obsession.) Wrapping and tape, envelopes and labels abound. Grandparents and teenagers, father and mothers all wait in line to send their packages off to distant places. So many stories in one place.
Today I wandered into line with two packages in my arms–one to a complete stranger, another to a close friend. I wrote random Christmas-y facts all over the outside of one along with some colored pencil drawings. I have first-grade drawing skills, but I had a ton of fun.

Candlelight
Tonight ends the first week of Advent when we light the candle of hope and celebrate the anticipation of Christ’s birth. Each night this week, we’ve been discussing the Messianic prophecies, reading through our Advent calendar, and singing “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel”.
This time was a little different–and a lot more special. My oldest sister and her family came over to visit, and her little boys were so cute taking everything in. Their eyes practically shone as they looked at the single candle. They seemed a little bewildered but very fascinated as we all recited the meaning of Advent. And they were very excited for cookie time.
My Favorite Christmas Music
(This post was meant to go up last night, but I didn’t get to writing it. Sorry for the delay!

Deck the Halls…
…with stacks of homework! Fa, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, laaaaa!!! (Yes, I had to mentally count those. No, I don’t have a math class this year.)
I do, however, have several other classes that are quickly wrapping up! Finals are quite exciting and brain-stretching.

The Boy on the Roof
Our house is decorated for Christmas now! White icicle lights sparkle along the eaves, casting a glow on the wreaths hanging over the windows.
My brother climbed up on the roof last night and hung icicle lights along the high eaves. (It was especially funny when one of my sister’s furniture customers dropped by and Paul was talking to him from the roof.
