Princess of the Indies - Book Cover Debut - Coming this July!

Coming This July

This is the tragic story of the closing days of the hectic reign of Christophe, black emperor of Haiti, when a piratical colony still infested the neighboring isle of Tortuga. The leading character is represented as a British sailor, shipwrecked in the Indies, who follows a fateful quest in the interest of the beautiful, but unfortunate, “Princess of the Indies.” In that quest, on land and sea, he encounters privateersmen and piratical hordes, the then prevalent scourges of the southern seas.  This tale of the Indies is based upon actual happenings during the second decade of the nineteenth century, revised from Captain Carroll’s log.

Princess of the Indies........Available this July!

Princess Of The Indies
Available this July
(Book Art)
This tale of the Indies is based upon actual happenings during the second decade of the nineteenth century.  It is, perhaps, only fair to observe that the writer has found it desirable to revise Captain Carroll's log to give both dialect and sequences a more modernistic twist.            The narrative opens at a time when the bloody pirate colony of Tortuga had dwindled and Isla Espanola, once the alluring paradise of Columbus, had lapsed into a fantastic realm of racial discord.  The fabulous wealth and exotic extravagances of Christophe, the black emperor, have been stressed by credible authorities during the many years which have elapsed since his suicidal exit in 1818.

What People Are Saying About The Book "The Ultimate Book Of Quotations"

The Ultimate Book Of Quotations

Most Helpful Customer Reviews great collection of quotationsBy katie on June 18, 2014Format: Paperbacki've always been a sucker for a good quote, and have browsed through many books of quotations; that being said, i found this particular collection to be very inspirational and very well put together. the structure and layout of the themes are very well thought-out and organized, and there's a great variety of a wide range of subjects, many of which i have not yet come across while browsing through other books of quotes . I would highly recommend this collection to anybody that is looking for a great inspirational piece to add to their personal library.Comment  Was this review helpful to you?
I read this often at work, but I would recommend it for a great coffee table book, too. If you have friends over, flip to a page, and whatever quotation you land on, I'm sure it would make great conversation!Comment  Was this review helpful to you?

What People Are Say About The Book "From Out The Void"

FROM OUT THE VOID
Most Helpful Customer Reviews Great ReadBy Luke Dlouhy on June 20, 2014Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
I've never been a huge poetry guy, but I surprisingly really loved this book. It really grabbed me and sucked me in. I highly recommend giving it a read.Comment  Was this review helpful to you?  I recently moved to Maine, where I was lucky enough to stumble across this book in Portland. I am an avid reader of poetry, and haven't been taken by a poetry book quite like this one in some time. I remained impressed from the first poem to the last poem in this collection. Spencer's writing is full of imagery that made me feel nostalgic for places I've never been. In more than one occasion, I simply sat lingering on the beauty of his words. When a writer can make a reader do that, I believe it is more than deserving of 5 stars. I found this book to be a great introduction to New England poetry, and I look forward to reading more works from the author.

Highly recommended!Comment  Was this review helpful to you?  I found this collection to be very inspiring. This is by far one of my new favorite collections of poetry, and i was surprised, as i had never heard of the writer before, but come to find out he was actually a very influential figure in Maine back in his day, contributing much to the rich history of the beautiful state. i'm vey picky when it comes to poetry, and in fact many of the great American poets don't do much for me because it's rare that i find things written in a style that really floats my boat... and i can honestly say that i find the style of poems in this collection to be written in a very eloquent and easy to read way that's really quite lovely. a great that i would definitely recommend, especially for those sentimental history buffs out there!
