Monday Mythology at RITBS

I'm the Monday Mythology blog today at Romance In The Backseat!

I'm talking about mythology and folklore from Brittany in the north of France and the stories I used as the basis for my Carolina Wolf series.

It's fall!

Maybe just for today, but it's definitely autumnal out there. In the mid-50s when I woke up and my maple tree has a dozen red leaves all of a sudden.

I love fall and hope it's a long season this year. Of course, just watch. We'll get another heat wave out of nowhere now.

As seen on a T-shirt

I have A.D.O.S.Attention Deficit…Ooh Shiny!

(Couldn't paste the picture, sorry.)

As I mentioned yesterday, I've been struggling to get back in writing form after the summer holidays. I've been using timed challenges to help, but they're 20 minutes long. I can't stay on task for 20 minutes. Yes, I realize that's pretty bad.

So yesterday, partly in self-flagellation, partly out of sheer desperation, I tried 5 minute challenges.

It totally worked. I wrote nearly 1K in about 40 minutes of short...

What am I writing?

Working on the 3rd Carolina story, as yet untitled. Although the DNPH did suggest CarolinAmok. Yes, he's a funny, funny man.

I've struggled to get back into anything resembling a routine after the summer break. Now that the MCs are back in school, I'm slowly finding my raggedy old groove. So last night, I finally get some words down and I'm motoring along until… duh duh duuuuuuuh! My hero's POV comes to a crashing halt.

Why?

Because he's broken. Cracked. Mental. And I don't know why or how he...

The Taming of Mei Lin by Jeannie Lin

Jeannie Lin's debut story, The Taming of Mei Lin, (Harlequin Historical Undone, e-only) which comes before the release of her debut print novel, Butterfly Swords, (Harlequin Historical) is out today at eHarlequin!

I've had the pleasure of reading some of Jeannie's work before and I've been waiting for these releases forever. I'm putting my money where my mouth is and I've already bought this one.

And it doesn't hurt that the hero looks like Daniel Dae-Kim from Lost!

I'm thinking of blogging again. What do you think?

I know, I know. A month. It's been almost an entire month since I wrote anything here.

Actually, it's been almost more than a month since I wrote anything anywhere. "Slump" doesn't begin to describe. More like "descent into an airless hell."

But I think I can now tentatively state that I'm writing. I started a 3rd Carolina Wolf story on Saturday and have just over 1K words down. I don't want to get too excited, but it's good to write again.

Really, really good. I feel like I have purpose again.

N...

Ok. Here's the plan.

I like making plans. They look so pretty on paper. Real life tends to make them messy, but at least I have a direction to head, right?

Today is my last day of work! Yay!!!

I have a rather dreadful feeling that DH intends to rip out a chunk of my kitchen this weekend, so that means I need to clear off the counters so he has space to work.

Honestly, the plan is to finally clean the damn house. Since I started working, housework fell completely off the radar and I'm starting to ick myself out...

Happy Birthday to Me!

Yep, I'm the big 4-0 today.

Oy. My knees hurt just thinking about it.

And for my birthday? I GOT A NOOK!!!!! Wheeeeeeeeee!!!!!!! I'm so excited!!! I've been wanting an e-reader for years and I've really liked this one every time I get to play with it in the store!

I've got more to add, but it'll have to wait until after work. I'm late!
