The Magic Thieves
It’s not TOO long before the fourth Magic Thief book comes out, and I figured it’d be a good idea to give a summary of each one, so you’re ready to read it on September 16th!
If I forget anything, put it in the comments, okay?
In The Magic Thief, Conn is a gutterboy, who stupidly intrepidly picks the pocket of a wizard named Nevery and becomes the wizard’s servant apprentice.
Conn simultaneously has to stay hidden from the Underlord, Crowe, find his own locus magicalicus stone so he can becom...

If the Shoe Fits … (my YA books!)
I’m thrilled to announce that Harper Teen will publish two young adult books by me–and even happier that I get to continue working with my wonderful editor, Toni Markiet.
The first YA is titled Ash & Bramble, and it’s not so much a retold fairytale as an exploded one in which a happily-ever-after is the worst possible ending. It’s got smooching in it. The publication date is in May 2015.
This is the book that I wrote in a wild five-week frenzy last year while moving to a new house, the book fo...

Summerkin paperback (plus Rook story)!
With all the excitement ofMoonkind‘s release, I didn’t mention that on the same daySummerkincame out in paperback. It’s an edition with “extras” in the back, including an interview with Gnar and Lich that made me cackle like a cackly thing when I wrote it.
When revisingSummerkinI took out a big section in the middle where Rook goes to New York with a changeling baby that he wants to return to his parents. It just about works as a short story, so I’ve cleaned it up and posted it here. Enjoy!
A P...

Moonkind!
Today isMoonkind‘s book birthday! It’s the third book in the Winterling trilogy, in which Fer has to deal with the consequences of a very bad decision, and Rook proves what it really means to stay true. Also: giant spiders.
As is traditional on this date, I blog the dedication and acknowledgements page from the book because even though I write the words, a lot of other people helped turn it into a book.
