Jubilant #AtoZChallenge

She walked swiftly making her way through the swarm of people heading towards different directions and destinations. Almost running past through the security she almost hit a stranger. Shooting angry glances at him and mumbling something under her breath she picked up the stuff that had fallen off her hands.
She resumed her struggle and continued to make her way through the crowd. She sprinted and then skipped a few steps of the stairs, jumping off the two at a time. Her bag that swayed aroun...

In The Seventh Heaven #AtoZChallenge

“Would you like some tea?”, a sweet voice asked me while I was reading my morning newspaper. “Thanks, beta, but no”, I replied. She stared at me with anticipating eyes, and reframed her question, “Some coffee then?” I didn’t quite understand why she was doing this, but I played along, “Yes, coffee would be wonderful.” Her eyes glowed and she ran back towards the kitchen to find her mother. Only to return a few minutes later, trying so hard to balance the cup of hot coffee and not spill anythi...

Hilarity#AtoZChallenge

Everyone gathered around him and he felt little-troubled thinking he had done some mistake. Surely, dropping a spoonful of ice cream on the new shirt he was wearing was more of a crime for his mother than just a mistake. Everyone stared at him seriously and the tears started to well up in his big brown eyes. His eyes constantly searching for an escape from the group of huddled adults. But there was no rescue to be seen, not even his mother.
“Aside everyone”, he heard the most familiar voice o...

Glee #AtoZChallenge

“Two little ducks.”
“All but one”
“You and me, twenty-three”
The shrill voice kept piercing the silent room at a set interval of every 5 seconds and repeated every word exactly twice. It sounded like the trained voice of a person who might have been at this job for years now. The voice showed no excitement or emotions whatsoever.
“Two fat ladies”
“Pack of cards”
“Watch your son, twenty one”
A few giggles followed but died down soon, the moment the shrill voice cleared her throat for the next...

Felicity #AtoZChallenge

There was hullabaloo of emotions amongst everyone. Some felt genuinely happy while others still showed resentment. You can’t make everyone happy seems a bit too real at the moment.
“I now pronounce you as husband and wife”, said the priest before getting down from the altar as the newlywed held hands and their eyes shone brighter than the north star. Their face glowed with extreme happiness. They walked towards the elders for the blessings.
He stood there to be one of the first one to offer b...

Elation #AtoZChallenge

“Everyone come here”, pierced the shrill voice in everyone’s ears.
Everyone reluctantly left their seats one by one, every face showcasing a different emotion, proud, confident, scared, worried, happy, content, strategic and so on.
He got up last, with no expression on his face, few lines on his forehead showed tension but the slight dimple on his left cheek gave the hint of a slight smirk. He quietly walked little steps and stood at last in the queue, not entertaining any queries that others...

Delirium #AtoZChallenge

The sound of metals clinking was making him nervous. Clink and clanks of the buckles followed one after the other. His heart was beating faster than ever, as if it will soon jump out of his body. He could hear the people shouting and even crying and it only added to his jittery. One step at a time, he kept walking the queue. The screams becoming louder, the heart racing faster. Did I make the right decision, he asked himself. His heart partially trying to walk him out of this. But isn’t this...

Contentment #AtoZChallenge

Click. Click. Click.
Three different pictures.
Three different angles.
Three objects.
Frown.
A man in mid-forties was looking at the teenage girl’s incessant attempts to get the best interesting picture click out of a monotonous inflight meal, a cup of coffee and her kindle. a slight smile reached his lips as his eyes now foused the paperback he was holding in his hands.
She caught him smiling from the corner of her eyes, a little embarassed she put her phone away and looked at him and smiled...

Bliss #AtoZChallenge

The door creaked a little as she managed to sneak out of the room leaving her roommate in her deep hangover induced slumber. With a little sling-bag on the shoulder, flip-flops in one hand and a book in other she made her way towards the elevator. She paced impatiently while waiting for the elevator. Taking longer time than usual, it finally arrived as the doors slid open. She let herself in.
The journey to the ground floor took forever, as it seemed to stop at every floor on the way. It only...
