WIP Wednesday
This week I'm doing edits. First edits for Assassins Core 3. I'm trying to go through it with a fine tooth comb to make sure it reads like I want it to. I'm also doing--well I started the week doing a final read through of Assassins Core 4. I finished that last night and sent it off to Evernight for submission.
I'm stoked about it. I think it's a good read.
As for Assassins Core 3, I'm liking what I see, enjoying the trip. I'll start working on Cozy Bend 7 again next week. I think I have it on a good start, but I'm not sure yet. If I can't make it gel. I'll go back to Coyote Bound or start the next Assassins Core book in which I'll be veering mostly away from Tatiana and Alexi to spotlight another character's romance and mystery.
I have two characters in mind, and both will get shorter stories than these, I hope. I have so much fun with Alexi I get carried away.

1st Draft Done
Wow, that was a surprise ending to AC7. I finished it yesterday. Now, now on to the rewrite where I'll decide what to take how, and if I need to add more scenes.
But I am excited about this one. I didn't see the twist at the end coming. I had envisioned one thing and did something completely different. I hope I pull it off as smooth as I want to.
Let's see. Two things happened in this one that I hadn't planned on. I surprise visit and tentative alliance formed between Alexi and character from another book. That's going to change the plan for how I write the next book in that series. Not telling but I bet someone can guess which character.
And instead of switching back to Fairy Mafia to finish up, it's on hold temporarily while I write two more books in this series. Warning, these books will not feature Alexi as the main character.
I plan to write them a little shorter and focus on a developing plot. One of them with April which also includes the other character who will be getting her own story, Gracelyn and Zoe.
That is what I can tell you. The mystery character and Alexi will have further interaction in a bit of a crossover down the line. Though this character will make another appearance in this series.
How this happened I don't even know. I was just writing away and bam. There she was giving Alexi something she needed. I know you're going to guess it now, but what the hell.
So gonna be writing the first of two short books this week and doing edits on that 1st draft of AC 7 which has no title as of yet.
I had not planned to give April her own story, but the events that unfolded in this one made it mandatory. I have already started on the book this morning in fact. I have the first 1000 words written. I admit they are a scene from AC 7 that is rewritten. It will be a dream sequence to start the book. I can't share because it will give away the twist.
I will be crazy busy this week so we'll see how much headway I make with the writing. The editing will be getting done and I'll share a few excerpts.
For now, most of what I share about my writing will be on here. I'll put some on my website like the cover reveal but not much.

First Scene Sunday

I've been working on AC 9 as well as Winter's Kiss. Winter's Kiss is finished but once again in the hands of beta readers. The last one recommended several changes so I did an almost total rewrite. That may have pushed publication back to May. We'll see what they think about this one.
In Winter's Kiss I open up the vampire society of small town Avon Del a little more by showing the workings of the Council a little bit and House politics as concerns Ameila who's supposed to be taking over Thistle-Rose in her aunt's absence. However, family issues continue to abound for Amelia who meets her father and great grandfather and a cousin.
Also there's a peek into things with Ryan and how she's handling vampire politics in her own House.
Once I finish this book I'll be working on the last book in the trilogy. Once I finish AC 9, I'll be working on Coyote Bound. This will probably be the last book in that series. Naturally, there are a few more for AC.
