Search for a Bestseller Competition ends in August — Submit now
Judy and Richard’s Search for a Bestseller Competition is nearing its submission deadline. You’ll need to have a full manuscript in order to enter, but past winners have gone on to have some serious success so it’s worth getting it done.
The competition stemmed from Judy and Richard’s book club which began back in 2004. It’s a great opportunity for unpublished authors to skip the lengthy traditional publishing process.
Follow this link to learn more about how to apply. The actual deadline is August 14.

YOU’RE INVITED to a celebration of creativity

CRY is bringing creatives together to celebrate and you’re invited!
The inaugural We CRY Together celebration brings together two talented creators from different continents.
Mapitso Thaisi is a fashion designer and blogger from South Africa.
Michele Dougard is a writer and photographer from New Jersey.
We asked each of them to create a piece that genuinely reflects where they’re from and they delivered! Both have created pieces to capture the spirit and energy of where they call home. They will share those pieces with you and discuss their process along with why the pieces they created so authentically represent their region.
We also have some special guests who will speak briefly at this celebration. Artists and creatives from different disciplines who will share their experiences with you. A full plate of creativity!

Call for submissions — Dealing with reality while chasing your dreams
We’re all dreamers. We wish and work for the day that we can wake up and write, draw, design, direct, shoot or create whatever our hearts desire and make a living doing it.
The reality is that most of us just aren’t there yet. We have to deal with the reality of our economic circumstance while chasing our dreams. It’s a difficult thing to balance emotionally, but we do it every day. The question we’re asking is how are you dealing with it? What tactics are you using to keep making progress towards your dreams while still dealing with the reality of making a paycheck and living your life? What kind of toll is it taking on you emotionally and how are you not allowing yourself to be broken?
Feel free to be as creative as you want in your response.
Same rules as always:If you’re already a writer for CRY, go ahead and submit. If you’re not a writer for CRY but would like to submit to this request, let us know and we’ll add you ASAP.Just because you submit doesn’t mean we’ll post. If you haven’t heard back from us in three days, consider that a pass.Deadline to submit is this Friday, July 17.Please reach out if you have any questions at all. If you are new to Medium, here’s how you submit a draft to a publication.
Looking forward to your stories. If you know someone who would be interested in submitting to this request, go ahead and share this with them.
