Peace of the Five Houses – This book is the first in a series set in a land where hatreds run deep, and loyalty is only given to one’s own family. It has action, suspense, dangerous plots, and forbidden love. This book is a mixture of science fiction and fantasy, where magic and technology violently compete for dominance in the form of the Cult of the Ascended and The New Civilization Group.
Book Description:
For centuries, five great noble houses have slaughtered each other in bloody wars of hatred and spite. Each family raises their children to uphold the ideals of their ancestors so that they might continue to thrive in the midst of constant bloodshed. From the brave knights of the Virtus to the powerful mages of the Eruditio each family has grown strong through constant competition and conflict. But now their leaders seek to end that cycle of violence with a grand, unstable experiment of peace.
Within the cradle of civilization, the city of Aterdivitia, five young nobles struggle to contain the hatred brewing between the rival houses in their newly founded academy. As their families strain against the peace that is forced on them, new threats arise unlike anything these mighty civilizations have ever faced. As madness and terror pour into the streets of the city, these young warriors are the only ones willing to put aside their family's hatred and cooperate. But the solution to their problems lies in an ancient mystery that has driven great men to madness. Amid bloodshed and chaos, hatred and suspicion, the heirs must fight for that which their people most despise: Peace.

Peace of the Five Houses
This post is dedicated to a book series that I have begun. It is an action/adventure series that blends sci-fi elements into a fantasy world full of horrible monsters, spiritual magic, and five rival noble houses living together in a single great city. This city is known as Aterdivitia. It is a large, wealthy trade hub with ancient and powerful secrets, and the nobles have been fighting over control of this great city for centuries. The story is set four years after the declaration of peace between the noble houses. They're leaders have brought their family members to the city to enjoy a newly built academy where the young nobles will be learning alongside one another. The story revolves around five young leaders within these noble houses as they struggle to maintain the peace between their families. But the bickering between the noble houses is not the only problem that threatens the city. While the nobles balance a precarious line between war and peace, two deadly criminal organizations battle each other for dominance of Aterdivitia's streets. The nobles are faced with two common enemies, but even as this threat grows deadlier by the day, it might not be enough to bring the five houses together in a lasting peace.
The following is a short description of each noble house:
The Virtus- noble knights and holy warriors. They stand for justice and hold grudges against the other nobles for past sins. They are the closest to the church, and can be influenced by them more easily than the others, but they still come into conflict with the church from time to time.
The Eruditio- powerful mages and scholars. They value learning above all else, and value their books and libraries as temples in their own right. They love knowledge for its own sake, and horde it protectively from the other noble houses. Knowledge is seen as its own end, rather than a means to one.
The Sapiencia- scholars, poets, and philosophers. They value learning above all else, but unlike the Eruditio, they use their knowledge to change and improve their society after long debates. They change much more quickly than their rivals, and they love knowledge as a source of wisdom to be shared with their people. Knowledge is seen as a means to achieve happiness and perfection.
The Saevitia- hunters of great and deadly beasts. The Saevitia homelands are surrounded by three great forests filled to the brim with dangerous beasts and monsters that provide a constant threat to the towns and cities beyond their borders. The Saevitia hunt because they must.
The Potentis- warriors who value battle skills as a sign of worth. When they aren't marching on their rival's homelands to the beat of their brutal war drums, they are holding tournaments of strength to see who is worthiest to lead their family in the next
great battle.
