Thirty Days of Gia

Day Three...
Today's question comes from Tabitha W. She's been a wonderful supporter since my first release, and an active member in Gia's Gang on Facebook.

She asks.....
Who is your celebrity hall pass?

My closest friends all know the answer to this one......Channing Tatum. With the Magic Mike craze going around the internet, women losing their minds over his sexy body and dance moves, it would seem like a logical choice. But I fell in love with him back in 2006 when he stared in Step Up. We got a glimpse of his talent back then, and it's only evolved over the years, proving Channing is the real deal.

So, why Channing? Well, have you seen him? But beyond looks, he's crazy talented, and seems like the real deal - not just an act he puts on for the media. And speaking of the media, you don't see him being blasted for doing ridiculous nonsense every other week. The stories are about his work, his family, his talent. That's refreshing. Any celebrity who can manage the chaos of Hollywood with class gets an A+ in my book.

And have you seen him? Sorry, I'm done.

More reasons why I'd pick Channing.....
Picture He knows the good things in life - the simple things that
can make a bad day pretty incredible.
Picture He made me swoon in Dear John.
Picture He made me laugh in 21 Jump Street & 22 Jump street.
I could probably keep going for days, add a bunch of pics, and continue. But I don't think you ladies will need much convincing. If your not already a fan, please hop on the Channing express.
Keep on dancing,
Gia

Thirty Days of Gia

Day Two...
I got a little behind with the release of Weightless, but I'm back! I'm ready for day two of Thirty Days of Gia. In my reader group on Facebook, I asked for Q&A questions. I've decided to post a question a day along with my answer. Hopefully this will help you get to know me better, too.

Lets get started...

The first questions come from Heather Marie.
She asks...
If you could relive a moment in your life, would you? If yes, what would it be?

I would relive my entire senior year of high school. It was one of the best years of my life. Looking back at my seventeen/eighteen year old self, I'd tell her not to worry so much about the future - to live in the moment and let the cards fall as they may.

I'm a thinker, a planner, and a doer. It would be amazing to go back with the knowledge I now have in my early thirties. Imagine how cool it would be to go back in time as the person you used to be - time hopping around, stopping at the best parts, fixing the ones you'd like a second shot at. All those shoulda, coulda, woulda's erased.

But it's not up to us, and there's only one person who knows how this journey of mine is going to play out. I was so sure my life would turn out one specific way, but it's okay that it didn't. The path has veered in other directions multiple times. I'll keep adapting to each one the best I can.

But there's nothing like being a kid. Being young truly is one of our greatest gifts in life. I miss those carefree days.

Trix aren't just for kids, and I'll always pick the marshmallow's out of my Lucky Charm's no matter how old I get.

Thirty days of me...

Thirty Days....
Picture Now that I've updated my website, I really want to try to bring you a post a day about life. Whether it be something silly that happened during my day, what I worked on, or what I was thinking about -  pretty much anything and everything.

So, I'm going to kick off Day One with a blast from the past. SPOKEY DOKEYS!

Who remembers them?

Who sported them on their tires?

I remember riding my yellow, banana seat bike around the neighborhood with my tires decked out in rainbow colors. As each pedal went around, it was music to my ears. You could hear my bike coming long before I got to my destination. As a kid, I remember feeling like nothing could stop me as the wind whistled through my hair.

I looked as cool as I felt.

Now, I'm on a mission to find more of my favorite things from my childhood. There's no greater feeling than reminiscing about the best days of your life.

Think about it....what makes you go back in time?

I can still smell the paste from preschool, the crayons from Kindergarten, and the stink bombs (some kind of horrific smelling fruit or nut) that fell from the giant tree overlooking the see-saws on the playground. I remember going to the pool with my friends while my parents worked. We had the square pizza from the concession stand for lunch, and Cow Tails or Chick-o-sticks for dessert. The scent of chlorine lingered on my bathing suit the rest of the summer despite being washed over and over.

If I could go back in time, I'd be a kid again. There's not a single thing I would do differently, but I'd make sure to suck up every ounce of joy each day before I grew another year older.

Enjoy the little things in life.

Stop and smell the roses, but watch for the bees.
Celebrate the good moments, but learn from the bad.

You get one shot at this life. Make it your best!

It's a Celebration!

It's a Celebration....
Every July 4th, I eat too much and laugh a lot. As I make my way down the line to sample a little bit of everything, even some stuff I know I don't need on my plate, I do so with a smile on my face. In the evening, once the sun starts to set, I wave my sparkler around in the air, creating lightning fast patterns in the open air. Then, when the starts are shining, and we're all tired and worn out, we sit on the ground for the fireworks. It's a day of traditions that have been celebrated in similar fashion all around the United States.

But, there's that one moment, when it hits me. As Proud to be an American blares from the speakers in the park, chills run up and down my spine. It's the one song that puts the entire day into perspective. The lyrics remind me why I'm decked out in patriotic colors, why I'm eating too much food, and why I enjoy this day so much. Most importantly, I'm reminded of all the men and women who fight every single day to give me the freedom I've always known.

Thank you to all who fight.
Thank you to all who believe.
Thank you to all who remember.

Happy 4th of July!
