Korean Phrases Ep. 50: 자화자찬
This week's new video is a "Korean Phrases" episode. This series is for learning quick idioms and phrases in Korean. Lately, it's mostly been a series for learning about 사자성어 ("4 character idioms"). These types of idioms (mostly) originally come from China and the Chinese language, but are still useful to know in Korean as well. And this week we'll learn about the idiom 자화자찬.
Even if you don't use any of these idioms in this series when speaking, you might find them written in books, or hear someone use them when speaking.
Check it out here~

This episode will cover honorific speech. I'll give you an introduction to the concept, and explain how to use it. We'll talk about honorific verbs and honorific nouns, and more.
Remember that there are free extended PDFs available for every "Learn Korean" episode (at the bottom of this post), and each contains additional information or examples not covered in the video.

How Long Does It Take to Learn Korean? – A Glass with Billy Ep. 5
Do you wonder how long it will take? Learning Korean can feel like a long journey, but sometimes you just want to know "how long will it take?" I've been learning Korean for 12 years, and I started back in 2005. If I look back on the trip, I can definitely see how long it took me to reach each level. But my personal experiences will differ from everyone else's, and it's important not to compare ourselves to other people. In the video, we both agree that it's a difficult question to answer, because the amount of time spend learning a language and the way a person studies is a lot more important than how many days have passed since someone's started learning.
I met up with SpongeMind TV to discuss this. Check it out here~!

Learn Korean Ep. 92: Changing Action Verbs to Adjectives (Part 2 of 2)
What's wrong with sleeping in now and then? I mean, who said 14 hours of sleep every night is too much? Nobody said that. But Keykat doesn't like it. I think she wants me to wake up earlier. She's always the early bird. How unfair.
This episode will take a look at more uses for the word 것 ("thing"), when used together with verbs. It is a continuation of the last episode in this series (Ep. 91).
