Welcome to Histories & Mysteries, my website to advertise and promote my published writings. I am Alexander Marriott, a historian who publishes in American history and also murder-mystery/crime/detective novels. My two most recent works–a chapter contribution to James K. Polk and His Time: Essays at the Conclusion of the Polk Project & The School of Homer, the first in a series of novels following my detective protagonist, Virgil Colvin–are described in greater detail below. I hope to use this website not only to promote my work more broadly, but also to keep fans updated on current and future projects.
