#ThrowBackThursday

I'd like to hear from you for today's #ThrowbackThursday. Let's take a look back through all my books and I'd love to know what some of your favorite scenes are from my books and why?
.
I grin and giggle every time I think about the scene where Kimberly meets Henrietta in #GoingAllInn. I had no idea who or what was hiding in the closet until she opened the door! Was it a bat? Was it a person? Was it a ghost? Nope! It was Henrietta!
.
GRAB GOING ALL INN HERE: https://lizabethscottbooks.com/going-...
.
There were so many scenes in #SurrenderToLove that I love. Probably the most special was the first time they made love after she'd been captured and abused. I was so worried how this book would be received by you. It's not a book of pain an suffering, it's a story of Shayla, a strong survivor who falls madly in love with her friend.

WIP WEDNESDAY!

Today's #WIPWednesday is going to be a look into the future. In My Bet's On Love there is a tight group of male author friends. Do you remember them? I'm thinking about a spin off series. I've had lots of emails and messages wanting their stories. When I originally wrote them into the story they were just supposed to be minor characters but their involvement grew because I liked them.
QUESTION: Would you like to see a series featuring this group? Warning, I'm seeing this as a very mature series. Comment and let me know your thoughts.
.
Here's an excerpt from My Bet's On Love. This is from Jackson's POV and the first time he talks to his buddy band.
.
Later, after his shower, he was back on the deck with another beer and his feet propped up, a fire going in the outdoor fireplace, when his cellphone chimed. He read the short text, grinned, and replied, Give me five.

He ran inside and threw a sandwich together, grabbed another beer from the fridge, took his laptop from his office, and went back outside. He’d only taken one bite before his computer rang and his four friends appeared onscreen.

Brandon took one look at him and chuckled. “Oh, man, you look like a serial killer.”

Josh leaned closer to the camera for a better look before getting his jab in. “I think you took getting into character a little too literally. You have the serial killer/hermit look perfected.”

“I don’t know, guys,” Hawk interjected. “I think the lumberjack look is working for him. All he needs is a plaid shirt and a toothpick between his lips.”

Ryan leaned back and crossed his arms. “Well, he can forget about puXXy with a look like that.”

Josh jumped in, “You’re crazy. Women love the wild and woolly look.”

Jackson smirked. If anyone would know, Josh would. He writes erotic romances under the female pen name of Lacey Lush.

Jackson ignored their barbs. He just let them get it all out while he took a bite of his sandwich, chewed, and then swallowed another delicious sip of beer. “Are you through?” he asked of his best friends and fellow authors.

“Yeah, I guess so. How are you, Jack? Where are you with work?” Ryan asked. He wrote mysteries and lived in Utah.

“I’m doing good. I finished a few hours ago. This one is an emotional rollercoaster.”

They all congratulated him, knowing how much sweat and tears went into a finished manuscript. The five of them met early in their careers and had instantly clicked. They got together whenever they can, but living all over the world makes it difficult to mesh schedules.

“Have you seen the latest Love Vixen blog post?” Hawk asked and, by the look on his face, it must be something the guys knew would set him off.

The hairs on the back of his neck bristled. He’d heard that woman’s name enough for one day. “I have not, but I’m getting the vibe that I should.”

Brandon shrugged. “Really, it’s just more of the same.”

He couldn’t imagine The Love Vixen ever straying from her usual drivel. “I’ll read it later.”

He may even stop replying to her. Then he thought about how much enjoyment he got out of her sanctimonious replies to his comments. Nah, not gonna stop.

“Did you see she’s hosting a conference soon?” Ryan asked.

Jackson chuckled and shook his head in annoyance. “Yeah. My sister actually signed me up to go. I told her I wouldn’t be attending and she could go herself or get a refund.”

They guys broke up laughing. Jackson waited for them to get it out of their systems. He thought it was hilarious too.
“You should go,” Brandon said, and the others agreed.

Jackson grimaced. His friends had lost their minds. He thought it was a horrible idea. There wasn’t enough money in the world to make him attend a Love Vixen conference. “Go? And do what? I don’t want any part of her crap advice.”

“It’s for sure nobody would recognize you like that,” Hawk pointed out, and that got the guys going with their slapdowns again.
When they finally calmed down, Brandon asked, “Wouldn’t you like to take her on face to face?”

Ryan was quick to add, “Look at it as a public service. Everyone that attends is going to buy into her spiel. You could at least bring some hard truths to her attendees.”

He was shaking his head before Ryan finished. “I don’t know, guys. Going up against her posts and blogs is one thing, but I don’t know about speaking up in person. My publicist would have a coronary if I even mentioned this. Think of the media circus if it got out that Boston Butt was actually Sutton Gratz, the international bestselling author.”

Hawk, the bad boy of the group, sneered. “Then don’t tell him. I mean it. Nobody is going to recognize you. Your picture might be on millions of books worldwide, but looking like you do now—”

Brandon cut him off; they all knew that Hawk didn’t pull his punches. “Let’s just say the yuppie guy on the covers looks nothing like the recluse you are today.”

The devious light in Hawk’s eyes worried Jackson, especially when he said, “And to make it a bit more interesting, why don’t we have a little wager?”

Josh picked that up and ran with it. “That’s an excellent idea. Since this is Hawk’s idea, I think he should put up that fancy new boat he just bought.”

Hawk’s gaze narrowed in on Josh. “It’s a yacht, asshole, and nobody is touching it. I haven’t even taken it out yet. You’re going to have to get your rocks off with something else.”

Josh threw his hands up and rolled his eyes. “Fine, then let’s bet the proceeds of our next releases go to charity.”
All four men quickly agreed.

“Done.”
“Done.”
“Done.”
“Done.”

Jackson couldn’t believe what he was hearing. How had things gotten so out of hand? “Wait, wait, wait. Do you guys hear yourselves? You’re going to bet millions that I do… what? Attend the conference and point out how wrong she is? I imagine that would get me booted out real quick.”

Brandon rubbed his chin. “He’s right. We need a plan.”

Hawk offered, “You’ve always said what a phony she is. What if you prove it?”

The other three grinned and agreed. “Yes. Prove that she doesn’t know what she’s talking about and that she’s doing more harm than good. You can plant seeds of doubt at least.”

“You would be helping the world. People can’t live up to her perfection. Men can’t live up to the impossible standards she sets for us,” Brandon added.

Hawk looked Jackson in the eyes, wearing a sideways grin. “If you get ten people to post negative comments or reviews of the conference then you win and we’ll all fork over the dough.”

“I think we should all go,” Josh said and Jackson cringed.

This was going too far. Yes, he enjoyed sparring with the woman online, but in person brought a whole new perspective to their matches. “Stop. Just stop. You’ve all lost your marbles. There’s no way I’m doing this.”

With a look of sorry on Ryan’s model-perfect face, he replied, “Think of the millions of little children your selfless bet could help.”

Hawk grinned, knowing they had him. “Yeah, man, think of the children…”

TEASER TUESDAY!

It's #TeaserTuesday! And you know what that means...
I have a peek inside the upcoming release, #GroundsForLove. April 1st is quickly approaching and I can't wait for you to read Jen and Rod's steamy island romance.
.
Here's an unedited excerpt from Chapter 3 and is in Rod's POV. SETUP: This is the first time they meet face to face and they are walking on the beach at dusk.
.
A wave washes ashore and covers our bare feet. She grins and says, “You know, I’ve seen you on the ferry several time.”

“I know. I’ve seen you as well.” That was hard to admit.

“It’s just that… I had this crazy idea that when you looked at me, we had a moment. Was it all my imagination?”

I could have denied knowing what she was talking about but I didn’t. “It’s not crazy. I felt it.”

We walked along quietly for long easy minutes before she said, “Good.”

Without words we turned and headed back towards Blakes house. This woman mystifies me. “Do you think I’m old?” I wish those words hadn’t erupted from my mouth.

“As opposed to what? Dirt?” she replies with a chuckle.

I have no idea how to reply to that. I decide to be straight forward. “Do you think I’m too old for you. Hypothetically.” I’m smart enough to tack that last word on as a disclaimer or sorts.

“Is this a roundabout way to get me to admit that I find you attractive? Does your ego need stroking?”

I really wish she hadn’t used that word. Now I’m thinking about something I’d like her to stroke. “No. I just want to know if I have a chance. With you.” I can’t be any clearer than that. I’m so outside my comfort zone I’m in a totally new area code.

“So you want to know if I would ever go out with someone of your doddering age? Which is…”

I wince and say, “Forty-six.”

A Year in Review

A Year in Review

Let’s face it, this group is where I spend all my time. And I found lots of new reader friends! YAY!!!!

So it’s no wonder I needed to take December off to regroup and plan out my 2022. Here’s what I’ve come up with so far, but is subject to change…

The third book in the Faire Island series, Grounds for Love will release on my birthday, April 1 – https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09DDJXDPZBook 7 of the Royal Heirs series, Failure to Seduce will release May 6 – https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09HR79BYWI plan a 3 book series that will be released close together. More info to come.I plan on releasing another Faire Island Brides book but not sure yet which one. Probably in Oct.And another Royal Heir book to come in 2022. Probably in NovemberAnd if I can work it in, I’d love to write a holiday book for December. It will be in the world of one of my series. The Magic 8 Ball Says...

br
Early reviews are coming in and…

YOU LIKE IT! YOU REALLY REALLY LIKE IT!

Before I started my writing career I had an admin job that depended on some pretty big decisions. We asked a magic 8 ball many times what the outcome would be and do you know that it always got it right. If you believe in that kind of thing. I like to think that our department was just that good!

I didn’t have any insider tips on this one. However I did a happy dance when early reviews started coming in showing readers are loving Mina and Jackson’s story in, My Bet’s On Love.

You blow me away with your kind words. Thank you so very much! I could not do this without your support. ❤️

MINA & JACKSON DATE NIGHT

It could have been the perfection of the night. The moonlight made the landscape shimmer and glow. The sound of the jingle bells on Betsy’s harness was like background fairy music. It could have been the way Jackson had held her when he’d helped her from the sleigh and they’d had a moment. At least, that’s the way she was looking at it.

Maybe it was simply because they’d shared interesting conversation over the delicious dinner at the lodge, the candlelight, the warmth of the fire they’d been sitting by. But as Jackson’s arm wrapped around her shoulders pulling her close on their way back to the hotel, she was positive she’d never had a more romantic evening.

Whatever magic was going on, Mina knew that if the evening didn’t end with a kiss, she’d regret it for the rest of her life. With all those feelings making her stomach all aflutter with butterflies, she turned her head and found him staring down at her. Jackson was a handsome man. Devin was Hollywood handsome; Jackson was ruggedly handsome. Even in the moonlight, she could see the beautiful blue of his irises.

Was she reading his reaction right? There were all kinds of reasons why a kiss was the wrong thing to do. His gaze went to her lips and she shivered, but not from the chill of the night. She licked her bottom lip.

Jackson groaned. “Mina, I…” he started to say, but then looked away.

She needed to know. For once, the voice of The Love Vixen wasn’t in her head. She was Mina, and she wanted to be brave and go for what she wanted. Reaching up, she cupped his cheek and turned his head until their eyes met again. “I know we just met, but this doesn’t feel like a casual acquaintance. Please don’t freak out. I’m not talking about anything but right now, right here. In this moment… I really want to kiss you, Jackson.”

Jackson let out a slow breath and grinned. “I’ve wanted to kiss you all night.”

He leaned down and the moment his lips touched hers, everything else ceased to exist. Strong arms lifted her until she was on his lap. Her hands inched up his chest and into the hair at the back of his neck. She yanked his knit cap off and ran her fingers through the silky, long locks. She’d wanted to do that for so long. She was right. His hair was the softest of soft. She loved the feeling of the strands between her fingers.

It All Started With A Blog

The last Love Vixen book is coming in 12 days and then it’s a wrap. Or is it? I’m not really sure.

OMG, I’ve had so much fun writing in the Love Vixen world. She has an answer for everything! I’ve also had a blast reading how each author put their own twist on how the Vixen helped their HEA’s along.

What you can look forward to in My Bet’s On Love:

the story behind the Love Vixen (has something to do with a blog)five super hot guys that know how to use their penssteamy, hot sexy timesquick changes in closetsa moonlight sleigh ridea swoony HEA you may shed a tear over

Preorder your ecopy now and don’t forget you can order a signed paperback  in my store when available.

Ya know the best part? If you haven’t read all 11 books, this is a great weekend to binge the Love Vixen before book 12 releases. Grab them HERE.

EXCERPT:

She startled and then looked up into his eyes. Jackson saw a familiar pain hidden behind the tears. He was compelled to ask, “I don’t mean to intrude, but are you okay?”

She gave one slow nod and replied with a watery smile, “I hope to be.”

He knew how that felt. “Relationship gone bad?” he surprised himself by asking without thinking he shouldn’t. It wasn’t his thing. All he was doing was trying to make a sad woman…not so sad.

Her lips pulled upward. “That obvious?”

He shrugged and sank to the other side of the bench. “Maybe not to most, but like recognizes like.”

She turned her head and their eyes met. “Ahh, broken heart?” she asked.

Jackson hadn’t noticed how beautiful she was. Her hair was thick and richly brunette. There were many shades of brown reflecting the low, setting sun. Her eyes were a clear hazel green and rimmed with long, dark lashes. He was so taken with her eyes, he found himself saying, “Broken heart? No, but I was dumped three years ago. How about you?”

She turned back to the falls. “A while now. This was supposed to be my wedding weekend.”

His head turned sharply back to her. An idiot let this beautiful woman go? “Ouch. Let me guess. He cheated on you?”

Her lips flattened into a frown. “You got it in one. Funny how you knew that and I never saw it coming…”
