A Moment of Recognition – Julia Gibbs

Julia

Hello all

As a writer, the process and the creation can be a lonely yet thoroughly satisfying one. However, and many authors will know this, unless you’re multitalented you can’t do everything on your own.

I outsource covers, use beta readers and some research is done externally. And I read a lot. However, the key role I neverskimp onis the proofing. A book is only as good as the prose and literature within and if the words do not flow, you run the risk of alienating your audience.

Which is where...

My First Anthology – The Terror Train

Hey everyone

If you missed this announcement several weeks ago, in the past few weeks I’ve had several short stories accepted into a number of horror anthologies. For me, this is a huge moment in my career. Reviews and praise are flattering but when people deem your work good enough to be included in their work, their babies, their petprojects,it speaks volumes.I’m involved in threeanthologies due this year…and the first one is due on June 15th (sooner for Kindle).

The Terror Train Anthology.

International Sales…

Hi allIndian Amazon Rank2

Just surfing the Amazon sites, checking sales reports, etc. when I came across this little ditty.

I didn’t know I sold anything in India, let alone cracked the top 100 in three separate lists. A massive achievement. Very humbled by this.

Selling books internationally is something I never dreamed of doing, and despite performing well in the U.S, Canada and Australia too, India is a special place for me as they love their horror.

A sign of things to come? I hope so.

Cover Reveal – All or Nothing

Hello all

Today was an eventful day. I finally (and I say this because the anticipation was killing me) got the artwork back for All or Nothing. Steve Crisp, known for Richard Laymon and Stephen King covers, has produced a thrilling cover, one that I think encapsulates the book perfectly.

It’s been a pleasure working with Steve over the past few months. Hopefully we can work together again.

But what am I waiting for? Here’s the cover in all it’s glory.

A Moment of Reflection…

Hello all

P1040109 small

For those who know me, I can be a sentimental chap from time to time. Being a horror writer, a lot of people assume I’m cold, homicidal and love wading through the misery of the human condition. This isn’t strictly true, and most of the time it’s my weird brain conjuring the hatred and misery. Sometimes, I love to relive nostalgic moments and as I advertise and promote today, this little gem came to mind.

In 2o12, I met one of my writing idols, Lee Child. After some chatting, general...

This week has been an amazing week for me. Not only have I been accepted into Journals of Horror: Found Fiction (as discussed in my previous blog post) but I’ve now been accepted into The Terror Train Anthology as well. See below.

Terror Train

So yes, an amazing week for me. I’m now part of two horror anthologies and as you can probably guess, I’m in excellent, very talented company. Details of release will be promoted when known. I will keep everyone updated.
