A Busy Month…
Hello all
It’s been just shy of a month since I last blogged. This author has been very busy with writing and promoting…and here’s why. The past four weeks have seen the release of four separate anthologies, plus my new short novel, all in a tight time-frame. Promotion and spreading the word has taken priority and I can tell you, there aren’t enough hours in the day.
I blogged about Autumn Burning on a previous blog. Here are the newest releases…

My second novella,...

Carnage: Extreme Horror – Coming in December 2014
Good news today. The cover for Carnage: Extreme Horror was unveiled. Provided by the extremely talented Mark Kelly, pun intended, this book is looking to be one of my favourite works of the year.
Anyone who reads my blog will have heard of Carnage: Extreme Horror. This is a little side project I’m helming, in order to bring the future of horror – in my eyes – together. I’ve not been writing for long, but I’ve been reading long enough to know a good horror story when I read one. In 201...

Autumn Burning: Dreadtime Stories for the Wicked Soul
Another blog post and another anthology release. On October 9th – early by a whole week – Autumn Burning: Dreadtime Stories for the Wicked Soul was released on Amazon print and eBook. Published by J Ellington Ashton Press, this collection of horror stories perfectly encapsulates the Halloween spirit.
My short story, Hollow Be Thy, features alongside a number of phenomenal horror stories from some of the best horror writers in the field today. The book is already climbing the Amazon ch...

Rejected For Content – Splattergore: Review Part 1
As per my previous blog, Rejected for Content – Splattergore was released recently. Since then, I’ve been slowly working my way through the short stories on hand and reviewing them one by one, with exempt to my own story. This has been taking place on Goodreads.
However, due to space constraints on Goodreads – I only have 20,000 characters to use – I will be posting it in two sections. Part 1 is here now, and Part 2 is over at Goodreads. Once the entire review is complete, the whole r...

Rejected for Content: Splattergore
Morning all
This past week saw the official release of Rejected for Content: Splattergore. Released by J Ellington Ashton Press, this anthology is a dedication to stories that were ‘rejected’ for being too gory, too weird, too unreal, too sick, too sexual and, well, pretty depraved. My short story, ‘Rendezvous’, is included in the TOC. I’m so proud to be involved in a project that is sure to shock and offend and unite.
Edited by Catt Dahman, CEO of J Ellington Ashton Press, Catt herself has rev...

Dark Chapter Press Competition Winner – Stuart Keane
It’s been a busy few weeks in the author world. For me, it’s consisted of creating several short stories, tuning a novel or two and preparing for the busiest period in my career thus far. I have several contributions being published in several anthologies in the next few months (see the Anthologies thread for info) so juggling the promotion for these and certain deadlines has certainly tested me. But, as always, I’m a glutton for punishment and I love every second of it…so bring it o...

Seven Months…
It’s been a busy week for me, away from the writing that is. I managed to finish two more short stories but I’ve also been doing some thinking. On a general chat with some fellow authors, I was reminded of one thing: there are some decent authors out there. Authors who are hard working, dedicated, amazingly talented, and unique. Not to mention generous. You see, I know these authors through general banter, conversation and chat, but I also know them as people who’ve helped me in some...

A Misunderstanding or Two…
Well, I’ve been on an amazing honeymoon. I’m still here, I fly home tomorrow. It’s been the most amazing two weeks of my life. However, in my absence, something has come to my attention. Something that’s been blown out of context. Now, this isn’t an attack, this is me saying my piece about the issue because I haven’t had a chance to until now. I’m on holiday for crying out loud! : )
First of all, my previous post – A Moment of Reflection – was my way of apologising to the readers for...

A Moment of Reflection…Lessons Learned
In February, I began the long journey to becoming a horror writer. At the time, I didn’t know what I was doing or how I was going to achieve my life-long dream. Humble beginnings, it seems, don’t prepare you for the reality of being an author in this competitive world. I started with an idea and a notepad…
Six months later, hindsight is a great ally. I look back on the early months of my career, when I was a fresh new writer looking to make his mark, and I gasp and cringe at some of t...

Rejected For Content – The Seventh Anthology
Great news this week. I’m happy to confirm my short story, Rendezvous, will be included in Rejected For Content. The latest anthology from J Ellington Ashton Press deals with stories too debauched, too gory, too violent, too sexual, or just outright disturbing for normal presses. Recruiting some of the best horror authors in the genre today, new and old, this anthology truly has the potential to offend and raise the bar for horror anthologies everywhere. Content is guaranteed to repu...
