Hard Target paperback release available for pre-order

I just found out the mass market print release date for Hard Target. On November 26 you'll be able to get the first book in the Elite Ops series in paperback through Amazon or by ordering through any brick and motor bookstore. You can pre-order today, it's even on sale at Amazon right now! Here's the link. 

You can also download Hard Target to any eReader November 12. That's less than three weeks away! Squee! This is kinda like having two birthdays…I get to celebrate the Hard Target release two times. November is going to be a party month! Details on the party part coming soon. Stay tuned.

Dates added to Calendar

I just added more dates to my on-line and in-person event calendar. Highlights around the Dallas area include:

Friday-Sunday, November 8-10, I'll be at the Readers & 'Ritas weekend in North Texas at the Hilton Garden Inn in Allen, Tx. Join me along with 35 other romance authors including Sherrilyn Kenyon, Shannon Butcher, and Dianne Love for a weekend of formal and informal discussions about reading, writing, and margaritas—of course. Get the scoop on this readers weekend here. 

And on Saturday, February 15, 2014, I'm excited to be participating in the Adventures in Fiction "mega" booksigning in Addison, Texas, sponsored by Fresh Fiction. This open-to-the-public signing will be at the Intercontintental Hotel from 12-4pm, featuring over 400 authors of various genres. More details here.

Hey, hey, hey! We have a series title. We have back cover copy AND we have a smokin' hot guy on the cover! (Isn't he lovely?) All this unfolded rather quickly (in a week's time). So here's the latest, all in one post—drum roll please...

New Title: The Snatchback is now HARD TARGET

Last week my lovely editor asked if I was up for considering a new title for THE SNATCHBACK. I said yes, absolutely! It's always exciting when a publisher is actively working to position your book more favorably in today's market. 

We started working from one word titles and batted a couple of ideas back and forth via email. She came up with the word Target and I piggybacked onto that with Hard. Thus HARD TARGET was born. I'm thrilled. We'll be using the word TARGET in the rest of the AEGIS book titles…so stay tuned for more on my new "TARGET" series.

Blue Avatars, Autism Awareness & Not-So-Random Acts of Kindness

This week I changed my Facebook profile picture because my teenage son has Aspergers and April is “Autism Awareness” month.

My guy was diagnosed just before his fourth birthday. We were told he would never function in a typical classroom and not to expect that prognosis to change. At the time of the diagnosis he spoke only in small chunks of language that he had memorized from Disney cartoons. He had behavioral outbursts that made it impossible to take him places without public meltdowns. Despite the doctor’s lack of encouragement (or more likely because of it) we dove into traditional and non-traditional treatments.

Today our son is in 10th grade at our local High School. He takes Japanese and pre-AP courses, runs Cross Country and participates in various clubs at school and in the community. He’s funny, articulate and he’s going to be okay. He still struggles at times reading social cues and can appear a little quirky, but we are confident that he will go on to college, get a job and support himself.
