Lost & Found

Travelled
Space
Time
To reach here & now.

Paradise
Found.
Lost
If I look there & then.

A Legend in Your Own Lunchtime

Digital books should apply meaningful personalisation. Who wouldn’t want to be the hero or heroine of the very novel they are reading!

I think that romance novels like the ones published by Mills & Boon (Harlequin Romance in the US) would be particularly appropriate.

All that would be required is a quick find and replace so that the main character then becomes the reader – voilà!

Which famous novel would you (yes, you) like to be the star of? I’d love to know.

Cosmopolitan?

Torn apart.
Heart and face
In place.
But not.

Your Phone is Listening to You

Wouldn’t it be great if our connected devices (laptop/PC/tablet/phone) actively listened to our conversations and suggested products/services/remedies according to what we say?

So, if we’re in an argument our phone could jump in with the telephone number of a mediation service (or a marriage guidance counsellor if the context is different (or a divorce lawyer if it’s a serious argument (or just contact the local police if it turns violent (but imagine if they arrive and it’s not an argument,...

Who You Really Are

So There

Shouldn’t I have some privacy?
Don’t I have the right to speak?
Can’t I choose who to speak to?
Isn’t there some kind of ruling?

’cause there comes a point where the things on my mind
need to be said
so that my head don’t explode from the pressure of it all

Will I be able to continue like this?
Should I even be made to choose?
Shall we be made to part forever?
Can a compromise ever be found?

’cause there comes a point where the things on my mind
need to be said
so that my head don’t explode f...

Bouff Daddy

Please can someone untangle the meaning of these lyrics for me:

Now they see me and say Bouff Daddy, Bouff Daddy
Everywhere I go they say Bouff Daddy, Bouff Daddy
In the ends I’m the Bouff Daddy, Bouff Daddy
Ya dun kno’, ya dun kno’

And while you’re at it, explain to me why these words are stuck in my head.

When I wrote on this blog yesterday, this song was there. Now, when I come to the blog again, it is still here!

The song, by J Hus – in case you want to hear it:

Jigsaw Puzzle

Life is like a jigsaw puzzle – first you do the edges, then the broad shapes, then then scatterdy little details, then the boring, sky-like expanses.

I mostly feel like I’m still trying to find the corner pieces. At other times I feel like I’m lost in the wide expanses of nothing much at all. I often spot colourful pieces that look as if they should fit with something else I saw towards the end of last week, but by the time I get around to reaching out to grab them, they’re gone.

Joke for Trinidadians

Two guys walk into a bar.

The first guy says to the barmaid “pour me one.”

The barmaid looks puzzled and says, “that’s not true – you have your friend with you!”

And yep, I made that one up too.
