Intrigue
Sit down. Get yourself comfortable. You’ll want to know about this.
I’m presently working on these thoughts. At the moment it is rather like a jar of mud that has been shaken up – everything will settle out eventually. That is the only way I can explain it to you atthe moment. I hope it will make some sort of sense to you as it becomes clearer to me.
My information can sometimes be fractured and will more than likely mean something to you alone. It is probable that the process will not be pre...

Guess The Book
Okay, we’re going to play Guess The Book. Here are three alternative beginnings I wrote to a rather famous tome. See if you can guess which fine piece of literature I’m paying homage to here:
Beginning #1
Mr and Mrs Dursley were sitting down to a nice cup of tea in the living room of number four, Privet Drive when the dragon peeked in through the window, it’s golden-flecked eye the size of a particularly large serving platter. Mrs Dursley’s tea cup danced briefly in the saucer, and Mr Dursle...
Faux Pas
Nearly put my foot in it a few minutes ago.
I saw a work colleague and, vaguely remembering something about her dad being poorly, was on the verge of saying (in a friendly, chatty way) “How’s your dad?”
Fortunately I just remembered at the very last second what was wrong with her dad – he had just died!
It was good that this came to me, otherwise it would have been, like – “How’s your dad (pause) still dead?”
Yeah, I know – sorry about that – it sounded a lot funnier in my head.

Bell Bottom Spider
The bell bottomSpider
Beside her
Said Madam
I had ’em
Today.
So the flies
You despise
Can’t be had now.
I just wriggle
And jiggles
This way.
And outside
The downside of
Autumn
Made me hunt for
My jumper
Again.
And the
Never of ever
Just falls down.
Fall was
Ever Forever
This way.
(this is nonsense, written to test whether people are actually reading these ‘poems’ or are just dropping Likes cynically)

Moving Forward
As far as moving forward goes, it’s just a matter of intending to fall, and then catching yourself. Here’s a step-by-step (literally) guide:
1. Stand up
2. Lean forward
3. Fall forward
4. Move one leg in direction of travel
5. Put your foot down
6. Come back to standing
7. Repeat steps one to 6 but this time with the other foot
8. Repeat steps one to 7.
Important Rules Pertaining To The Above:
– You have to fall
– You have to catch yourself
– It doesn’t work if you wait for someone else to ca...
Autumn
A leaf, caught by the tail on a spider’s web. Swinging and twisting in the breeze – aching to be free. One quick swoop of a hand, so easy for me. Feeling the crinkly scratch against my palm I took it across the road. I released it into a group of its brothers. I watched it flutter on – I imagined gleefully. Smiling, I sent the thought that it would be remembered. That it would be immortalised across the world. Spread the word – one more is free, and we are all increased by this being so.
Hiding
Old soul hiding in an sweet child’s place.
Sweet child hiding at a young man’s rave.
Young man hiding in an old man’s face.
Old man hiding in a dead man’s grave.
Far Away Across the Sea
All his love was far away
Far way across the sea.
So when he inspected
His pile of clothes
A dirty sock would do
As well as a clean one.
When it came to shirts
Ironingwas notneeded
And as for new jeans
Old with holes worked.
Mirrors didn’t matter
They just showed old
A bearded stranger
The careworn frown.
Head inside a book
When walking out
Inside himself again
Escaping from no-one.
His only best friend
Worked in a corner shop
But never knew his name
Probably never cared.
To have a bright dr...

The Deadbeat and the Whore
It’s about love. It was always about love. He did it for love. She did it for love. Just love.
So now,how do I make this a mystery for you? How do I make you want to read on? How am I supposed to do that when I’ve already told you everything! You have no reason to walk to the end of the line now because it’s all here already. Heck, I wish for your sake that I could say something wise now. I guess you’d like me to be world-wise instead of the world-weary I feel. Alright – let me put this beast...

Graven
Can someone turn the heat down in here? Anyone! Can anyone hear me? It’s too much.
You’ve graven yourself onto me. Etched deep. Reminds me of a tree I once climbed. It was a thin, whippy tree. But then, I was only a thin, whippy kid so that was alright. I was after the nuts. Hazelnuts. I was in one tree and my mate, my pal, my friend – he was in the next tree. Twin trees. Both as laden with nuts as my nose was with bogies. I was always picking my nose back then. Once you’ve got yourself nice...
