Paw-fectly Wacky Wednesday
I’ve noticed on Facebook that I get a lot of feedback and comments about my paw-fect doggies. Everyone seems to really enjoy the pictures that I post of them. So, I thought why not give them their very own blog.
Along with being a full time mom, spouse, student, and writer, I’m a full time doggy mom. While my kids are away at school and my man is at work, my four legged children keep me busy. Every day they are doing something silly or funny that make me proud to be their owner.
I love sharing their pictures with everyone on Facebook, but I would also love to share some stories about them to go along with the pictures. Some might be long, while others will be short and sweet.
So, starting today, I would like to introduce my dogs to you, and tell you a little about how they became part of our family. I’ll start with the oldest and end with the youngest.
This is Kimber. She is our five year old Beagle. We got her when she was almost a year old. She is very sweet, very loveable, and very much a pain in the butt. You know how most dogs in the hound family like to be outside, whether it’s hunting, or just playing with the squirrels? Well, NOT Kimber. Kimber is allergic to grass. She flares up and has to take children’s Benadryl. She is also deathly afraid of loud noises. Even doors slamming. We call her our “blonde” because she is always doing something silly.
This little guy is Scout. We got him from the shelter in May of this year. He is a Dash-hound/ Chihuahua mix…or a Chi-weenie =) which is what my kids love to call him because it’s so much more fun to say. Scout came into the family right after the death of my 13 year old Apple-head Chihuahua. I wasn’t sure if I was ready for him, but he is such a blessing to have. He’s defiantly my little man…that is until his daddy gets home, and then I’m none existent. Scout loves to have his picture taken, and he is my writing buddy. He has a little bed right next to my desk, when I sit to write, he sleeps.
This little stinker is Booster John. Booster is a ten week old Chesapeake Bay retriever. We got him from a breeder about three weeks ago and our lives changed forever. I thought I missed having a baby…that is until I got a PUPPY. Boy-oh-boy does he keep us busy. His hobbies consist of chewing on everything that he isn’t supposed to, eating everything that he can swallow before we can get it out of his mouth, and finding new ways to terrorize the girls. And…I’m pretty sure he thinks his name is, “No Booster! Bad Dog!” =) But we still love him all the same. I’m sure you guys will enjoy all his cute moments as much as we do!

Meet Shay and Connor
Today I woke up thinking about Connor and Shay. If you don’t know who they are, you will soon. Connor and Shay are the MC’s in the book that Natalya and I are currently working on called, “Silently Waiting”. This book is written a lot different than the last one we did, but it’s all a learning act. We are having a lot of fun writing these guys, and I’m so absolutely in love with them. We are starting to come to the end of our first draft, and I’m a little sad about that. I guess this feeling comes from the fact that I know once we are done, that’s it for them.
When we first started writing this book, Shay became my MC. He is the light of the story for me. While I love Connor, Shay is my man. =) Natalya seemed to really enjoy writing Connors part right from the start, so we started writing this book in tandem. I will write Shay’s part, and then Natalya will write Connors part. At first it was really hard, but I found as we went along, it became a lot easier.
I also feel that it makes the book a lot stronger. The reason I feel this way is because we really get the differences in the characteristics of the two MC’s because they are written by two different people.
Shay is a quiet, shy guy who has been through a lot in his life. He was in a really bad car accident when he was a teenager, which resulted in him losing his father and his hearing. He started to isolate himself from the world and drown himself in self pity. He is a manic depressive, and has anxiety really bad. That is until he finds something, or should I say someone, to pull him out of his shell.
Connor has always lived the “normal” life of any teenage boy and his life continued to stay that way as he grew older…boring, normal and a complete lie. That is until he told his family he was gay. After that his whole world seemed to tilt on its axis and his life changed forever. His family disapproved of his life, his dad became a man he never thought was possible, and his mother ran like a scared kitten. So, he packed up his bags and moved away. Starting over with a new job, and with no family was hard. Then one day he met Shay, and he knew that no matter how hard his life was, he made the right choice. Even if Shay was ten thousand kinds of crazy!
