WRITING UPDATE: MITCH TURNER #5 MOVES FORWARD!

I am making incredible progress on Mitch Turner #5! I am hopeful, fingers crossed, that I should finish it up within a few more weeks.

I’m about 73% of the way done with the novel before I send it over to copyediting.

The first chapter of Only The Guilty is up for Patreon subscribers. I have included a little excerpt of this here and will be publishing more about it the closer we get. WRITING UPDATE: MITCH TURNER #5 UPDATE AND ONLY THE GUILTY!

I’m very pleased with how Mitch Turner #5 is progressing. Mitch is up to his old tricks, fighting for justice and I think you’ll find this story very enjoyable.

I’m about 68% of the way done with the novel before I send it over to copyediting. The picture above is a clue for #5!

WRITING UPDATE: MITCH TURNER #5 IS MOVING FAST!

Mitch Turner #5 is coming along fast!

I’m about 60% of the way done with the novel before I send it over to copyediting because much of the work was done last year.

This story involves a case unlike one Mitch Turner has dealt with before. Currently, I’m working through the details of the trial, and building toward the explosive conclusion and finale.

In other news, the copyediting process for ONLY THE GUILTY is coming along, and I anticipate that to take another four weeks.

And then it will be time to publish it!

I’ll be sharing more details the closer we get.

WRITING UPDATE: WORKING ON MITCH TURNER #5 AND ONLY THE GUILTY IS DONE!

Late last week, Mitch Turner burst into my office, and demanded that it was time for me to start working on his latest novel, or he was going to take my computer and tablet hostage until I agreed.

And like lawyer, he also threatened to sue me, something about tortious interference.

I don’t know, I was already opening his file.

So it is with great pleasure that I announce I’m back to work on Mitch Turner Number Five!

I don’t yet have a title for this novel because titles usually come to me later in the process.

I made significant progress on this book last year when I wrote it at the same time as THE VERDICT.

I’ve been pleased as I’ve picked it up again to see that it’s in fine shape and much further along then I remembered. I’m working on it now, and can’t wait to get it out to everybody to read!

Only The Guilty is now going through the copyediting process. Since it’s a bit thicker of a novel than my typical book, it will take extra time to get out, but I hope to have that into everybody’s hands sometime very soon.

WRITING UPDATE: ONLY THE GUILTY IS AT THE FINISH LINE, HERE’S AN EXCERPT!

I am putting the finishing touches now on ONLY THE GUILTY, and will shortly be sending it for copyediting.

I think you are all going to enjoy it. It’s been a lot of fun writing it.

The icy wind jolted Burke Wyatt’s hair as he exited his truck, surveying the frozen scene while shaking his head. Winter had come early, and he repressed a shiver as he flipped up his collar and put on his black wool ball cap against the biting cold. There had been a time when he wore a standard cap in the winter, but his wife had insisted, so he wore this because of her.

It was her last gift.

That made it hard to stop wearing once things warmed up, but he was forced to when it got hot. As soon as it was cold, he picked it up again.

His eyes narrowed as he focused on the two bodies that were just visible. He wouldn’t have known what to look for if he hadn’t already known what they were. They were a hundred feet from where he’d parked his truck on the side of the road.

WRITING UPDATE: ONLY THE GUILTY IS GETTING CLOSE!

It’s been a great week.

I’ve really enjoyed working on this particular draft of Only The Guilty. I am reminded of that quote from the A-Team.

“I love it when a plan comes together.”

Anyhow, Only The Guilty is coming together. It won’t be long before I start sending it to my copy editors, and turn my attention to Mitch Turner number five. I’m excited to get Only The Guilty out to you to read, and can’t wait for you to experience the world I’ve been living in now for some time.

I was looking through my notes and noticed that I first started working on Only The Guilty back in December of last year. This book started out longer than almost anything else I’ve written, but as I’ve worked on it, wrestled it, and fought it, I’ve gotten it down to a much more appropriate size. It’s about the same length as The Killer’s Club.

Also, don’t forget, The Good Client is in Prime Reading for only a couple more days. Soon it will be out! I don’t know if or when it will come back in again.

WRITING UPDATE: Draft EIGHT of ONLY THE GUILTY is DONE!

Last week was a really busy week here at Grim Archer Media. I’ve been working away on Only The Guilty. It’s been going very well. I’m excited to finish up with this story and it’s turning out better than I expected. I’ve had the ending in mind now for quite some time, and it’s fun to see it all coming to fruition. The image above makes me think of a moment in the book.

I still have several more drafts to go before I finally call it done and start the copyediting / proofreading process.

And then, I can’t wait to start working on Mitch Turner Number Five!

I already have the first/second draft of this done, so I’m hoping that I’m able to get it ready to go in record time, but we’ll have to see. My muse doesn’t always agree with my production manager, and the muse always wins.

The Good Client is in Prime Reading for another week! When September hits, it won’t be any more so get it now if you haven’t already.

But I have a fun announcement coming in September so …. stay tuned!

Don’t worry I haven’t forgotten about Jake Ramsey Number Four. I’m still working on getting it out there, but as I’ve mentioned in the past I am working on a rebrand for the whole series, and that sort of thing takes time. More to come in the weeks ahead.
