I was very pleased to see another positive review of Alien Morning, this one in the San Jose Mercury News. And that same week the February issue of Locus magazine (a top industry magazine that keeps track of the science-fiction and fantasy fields) my Alien Morning novel made the Recommended Reading list for 2016.  You can see the online edition of the magazine with that list here:  http://www.locusmag.com/News/2017/01/.... There were hundreds of novels published, so to be one of the 23 to make that Recommended list was quite a thrill.

Alien Morning cover_HiRez    In that same issue of Locus the February Science Fiction bestseller list is posted for hardcover books, and Alien Morning made that list, as well, coming in 10th. That list comes from a number of sources including chain and independent bookstores. I'm very proud to have Alien Morning on the list.

The Mercury News reviewer talks about several science-fiction novels in the review. Of  Alien Morning the reviewer says the novel is "the beginning of a series, and it promises to be a good one." And then discusses the novel and closes with this: "Put it all together, and “Alien Morning” is one of the better books I’ve read in recent months, and I’m genuinely looking forward to volumes two and three." Great! So am I.

I had a great time at the Tampa Bay Times Festival of Reading, chatting about the book and reading
Allan and Ricka couple of short excerpts. Host Allan Smith did a great job of introducing me, and that's him on the left here, me on the right. Tampa Bay Times Book Editor Colette Bancroft makes the whole thing happen every year. She does an amazing job. It's a beautiful venue and the people are great.

Then the very next day I was off to San Francisco for an appearance/reading/signings at SF in SF Nick and Terry and Rickwith the very talented Nick Mamatas and hosted by Rina Weisman, with Terry Bisson (yes, -that- Terry Bisson) as the moderator. That's Nick, Terry and me, left to right, in the pic on the left.

Then it was off to Scottsdale, AZ, for a conversation and signing at the famous Poisoned Pen

Poison Pen bookstore. Great fun, and signed a lot of books!

And now it's off to a Wednesday evening signing with Kevin J. Anderson at The Old Firehouse bookstore in Fort Collins. You can read about it here:

And then it's back to California for a signing/reading with Gerald Brandt at Mysterious Galaxy in San Diego. You can read about it here:

Come join us in Fort Collins or San Diego!!

SF in SF today! I'm heading west to San Francisco, where I'm reading from Alien Morning and chatting about the book. I'm there with terrific writer Nick Mamatas. If you're in the area, stop by this evening. Here's the link: http://www.sfinsf.org/?p=2200
