New Giveaway for All or Nothing Day!

Okay, did you know July 26th is designated as, "All or Nothing Day"? I had never heard of this before, but when I read about it, I thought what a great idea. It's the day you are supposed to live like it is your last day on Earth! A great reminder for us all to value this precious life we've been given. I also thought of how the key day in Olive's life where so much happens to her in the book was truly Olive's "All or Nothing Day"! Need Your Help? If you love Olive...

I'm one of those people who rarely ask for help when they need it. Perhaps you are as well, it's a fairly common trait it seems. But, I'm going to ask for help and go against my nature because I really believe in Olive and want her to find an audience. I'm getting so many amazing reviews of my book (thank you from the bottom of my heart, dear readers!) but I'm still not selling any books. 76 Ratings for 1776! Happy 4th of July!

I just noticed that as of today at 10:22 a.m., I have 76 ratings. Kind of cool for celebrating on the 4th of July and remembering the heroics of 1776! Perhaps this will be a great omen for me. Happy Independence Day!

New Giveaway in honor of the 4th of July!

If I get depressed about something and start feeling sorry for myself, I always try to just go back and remember that I already won the lottery: I was born in this amazing country. That I was lucky and blessed to have fore-fathers who were brave and courageous and fought for their ideals of what a nation could be. Yes, I know that they are probably turning in their graves to see what our current culture is like, but still...I'm just so lucky (particularly as a woman) to be born in, "the land of the free and the home of the brave!" Play ball!

I have to tell you that when I read one of your reviews when you say how much Olive means to you, it makes me smile - huge! Thank you for taking the time to go on the adventure with Olive and thank you for letting me know you love my ugly princess!!

Usage, Typos and Errors - Oh MY!

So, as a first-time author, it is terrifying to send your book out into the world, constantly fearing that your audience will think you an incredible idiot, who bored them to tears. Happily, so far (fingers crossed), most of you love my dear little Olive. Yes, there are typos, errors in usage, etc., but don't worry, dear reader, one day you will love them. There are only about 150 copies of my 1st edition and the second edition, sans most of the errors (we hope), will be out in the next month or two; so you will have an original that certainly does possess the aforementioned typos and errors and is a first edition. Let's be optimistic...the higher the sales, the better for you :-)

And yes, I did have 3 different friends help me edit my book. They did warn me that they kept getting lost in the story and forgot about the editing...I suppose that's actually a compliment. Just wanted to take a moment to thank you for the lovely reviews, they are wonderful.

Found Fairy Tale Books Free on Amazon

In my first post, I mentioned that when I was a little girl, I read all of these fairy tale books that had colors in the title, "The Red Fairy Tale Book, The Blue Fairy Tale Book" and on and on through a multitude of colors. I adored them. I just found them on Amazon and most are free for your Kindle! I've just downloaded all of them and now I'll have to see how they stack up today compared to when I was nine years old! Should be interesting. Give them a try. The author is Andrew Lang.
