The Leadership Factor

Business and life are not what they used to be! We, often, hear of times when things were simpler without too much stress and anxiety where your primary goals were to earn a good salary, take care of your family, and prepare the basics for the next generation.
No room for what you want, or how you would like to do some things!
Yet, still, these were the times when many people said they were happy and lived a meaningful life.
But these times have long passed. Now, most of the people do have not a steady monthly paycheck, the needs of their family have changed dramatically, and they do not know how to prepare the next generation for a fruitful and prosperous life since they, themselves, are straggling to deduce a meaning from their life and work and send a word of solidarity to the other people living the same exact lives.
2 Pillars, 1 Direction, and 1 Constant
Modern times are “interesting” enough to bring to the table a large dose of uncertainty and the abolishment of the prime constants that have led the lives of people in previous years.
It seems that everything has changed in view of the internationalization of the market, the advance of technology, and the straggle of the modern person to bring meaning to everything he/she does.
The only pillars that can hold a meaning, today, for modern people, seem to be the struggle for “balance” in professional and personal life (whatever that means for everyone) and the intentional posing of limits in what you do and how in order to gain momentum and a sense of execution along with some results.
Without self-imposed limits, people wouldn’t be able to have the basis for a discipline and build upon that a life with meaning and balance.
This is the main direction. To gain and live a fruitful and prosperous life instead of piling up money or assets that obscure your real goals for a meaningful life.
Both of these components are essential to what has come to be known as Leadership. This constant is something that remained for so many years with humankind that today it is considered as self-explanatory, whereas most of the time it is not!
Why Leadership Equalize Everything
The case with leadership is that a little of leadership and initiative in the life and business of everyone is enough to change the game and build a disruptive practice with long-term results for the person or group decides to add the “leadership factor” in his/her/it operations.
Most of the people are concerned with the procedures and the tools while they haven’t clarified their goals and their strategies (i.e. the how to achieve these goals).
And leadership can leverage your skills and knowledge in the pursuit of logical goals you want to achieve.
Why?
Because leadership:
can be used by everyone in many situations and disciplines,
provides a frame of thought, a logic, a practice, and a discipline, can be used for achieving results on many levels,
is based on science and long-standing practices, providing raw examples and cases for what works and what not,
has propagated beliefs and habits that bring the best self in everyone invest the time and effort in its mastery.
provides multiple results both at the personal and at the professional level.
to sum up, just a few things. But that’s not all!
Leadership is the only one inexpensive thing that can multiply your intended results many times over.
What should you do?
What You Should Do Next
The one thing you should do is to inject a little leadership virus into your everyday actions (personal and professional ones) that would help you decide in clarity what you want to do, why and with what means.
Other than that, you need to:
Start thinking about what works and what not and if your goals are feasible to pursue after,
Find out what you need to implement your goals,
Make and implement the necessary decisions and actions,
Set your plans in motion, and
Review often to change what does not work or does not work as you expected.
Simple, isn’t it?

One Thing at a Time

Productivity and effectiveness are tricky situations, especially so, if you don’t know what they look like (or what do you want to achieve)!
There is not point to have the best tools around if you don’t use them or don’t have a system for doing what needs to get done!
And most people want just that! Getting Things Done (as David Allen has codified it in his book with the same name), or a way to do the things needs to be done effortlessly!
One Target, One Focus, One Thing at a Time
Often, you need to focus on one thing only and to become very good at it, before you go on pursuing more activities.
We have learned to do a lot of things during our day both personal as professional.
Some times there is a necessity or an urgency of doing something, but that is not always right! To do the urgent things at the time of call, so to speak.
To gain control over what you need to do for achieving YOUR OWN Goals you need to stop re-acting and start planning and scheduling one the things you need to do.
You Don’t Need to Spread Yourself Thin
Spreading yourself thin is not going to help you get the things you need to accomplish done.
Rather it would give you anxiety and stress beyond any logical reason and it will lead you to a mental paralysis, if not ineffectiveness.
You need to decide on what need to get done per case and start doing it as yourself think fit. Or with the order it serves you.
No by the urgency someone else place on the accomplishment of this task.
Some time success comes from doing small things repeatedly or habitually and only that you reach the greater outputs you have designed for your life.
You Don’t Need No Ones Permission to Start Living Again
The trick here is to set your priorities straight. You need to start living again and remove the unnecessary things out of your life. Like to things you don’t want to do, the stress, the anxiety, the over-scheduled day, the immensurable hours to achieve something you are not fully committed to, etc.
You need to focus on one thing at a time in order to live a balanced life and have a successful business, by:
Clarify your goals and priorities,
Define what makes you happier, healthier, richer, etc,
Investing in yourself and your family,
Finding time for more quality time with the people you care about,
Declutter your life and your environment from the things does not make sense anymore are are obsolete,
Leaning more, teaching more, and be of service for other people
I do the same work in order to remove obsolete things from my life and make room for the really important ones.
That’s why I have removed little-by-little the things occupy space and times while they don’t give me back what I was expected from them.
The same work I’ve done with my work, try to focusing on tasks that provide the output I designed for with the limited effort required.
How I do that: I outsource, automate, and delegate a lot!
