Merlins Millennia
Working on a novelette to be called 'Merlin's Millennia'. This should be complete in Spring 2015. This will be a freebie prequel to my current novels.

Extract from the Science of Magic
I am currently editing book 2 'The Science of Magic'. Due out 6-Apr-2015.
Here is a short extract:
We had a pleasant evening at the Otter. There was no pressure to do anything but knowing Merlin had to leave at 10pm just took the edge off it for me. What should have been a sexy, flirty, amorous and downright dirty evening drifted into small talk, fragility and tact; in all, a dull anti-climax. When Merlin left, Marie-Claire and Melanie went back to the ‘Red Doe’; Fleur and Fey went to the ‘Grey Deer’. I went to the Star. I was looking for George. I needed some vigorous exercise. Where was George? Perhaps I should have gone with Merlin? I found George in the security room.
“Miss Smith. Is there something I can do for you? I get off in 30 minutes.”
“Yes George, as soon as you can.”
I saw Ghost on the loading bay by the kitchen. ‘Ghost can you hear me?’
‘Yes Samantha.’
‘I have a vacancy for a babysitter starting no later than tomorrow night.’
‘I will bring you 3 candidates in the morning. Is 10am ok?’
I was impressed with telepathy; but I had to be careful, as you never knew who might pick up the ‘first hello’. If I knew the correct frequency then a private conversation was assured. There was so much you didn’t have to ask. I knew straight away that Ghost was on RCP duty. He was the professional soldier. He was in good health and a very contented cat.

Merlin's First Millennia
'Merlin's First Millennia' is book 1 in the series 'Merlin's Millennia'. In truth it was the third book I wrote. The 'Science of Magic' and 'New Horizons' were the first 2 books. I felt that the 'Merlin's Millennia' series required a prequel that set out Merlin's life history to resolve some of the many questions about the Arthurian Legend. The most important questions were 'when and where was he born' and how did he escape from the cave where he was trapped by Morgana Le Fey?
'Merlin's First Millennia' is in a semi-diary format which I felt was a little disjointed but unavoidable. The book is based on real world events to give it a solid foundation in English History.
There is little doubt that King Arthur was based on real world people who were legends in their own time. Arthur, Gwenivere, Lancelot, Morgana and Mordred were all real people. Happy hunting on Google.

The Science of Magic
This where I started. If 'real magic' exists then how would a modern IT consultant approach the concept? Like all things originating in nature we have to learn its rules, and there we have it 'the science of magic'.
Merlin was the most famous wizard of all time so I took the liberty of saying he is still alive. Well I have already jumped one huge gap of credibility so the second one seemed small by comparison. Merlin would follow the old methods of using real magic and, my heroine, Samantha would create new programming methods to control magical essence. So now we have the beginning; a new teacher and pupil relationship blossoming into a smouldering romance.

Freebie book 2
HoneysuckleP
The Science of Magic is free on https://www.smashwords.com/books/view... using code "EG54X"
This offer will run until 5-Nov-2015.
There are some sexually explicit scenes but these are short and a fundamental part of the story 'the sexual act creates magical essence'.
My conscience is clear over the statements on religion. I have no doubt that I am not the first to say that 'Gaia' is the soul of the Earth and is an agent of the creator. However, I may be the first to say that 'worship is not required; respect is everything. Ignore God and Gaia at your peril.'
'The Science of Magic' is exactly what it says. It is my take on how 'real magic' might be treated as a science.
The story is about Samantha, a young woman who is starting a new contract as an Analyst/Programmer. Her exposure to real magic pushes her to use her programming skills in ways she could never have dreamed. Now she must cope with the demand for her new skills and the seduction by the volatile and mercurial Merlin. Yes. This is the Merlin of the old legends; he is blessed with long life; in his case - several millennia.
A magic user must have several partners to create the essential magical essence. Merlin have several favourites and one of them, Angel, is in trouble. Samantha is manoeuvred into helping Angel.
