New to Goodreads - Hope to Get to Know You, Too!
Hi Readers,
I must have my head stuck in Fairyland to not have known about Goodreads. Although I've been an author since 2001 and thought I was incredibly cool to even know about the coming of social media, I've yet to stumble upon Goodreads until well...now. I'm so impressed with the gathering of book lovers on this site, I may never want to leave. Taking me to a bookstore, a library, or anywhere there are stacks of books is like taking me into a candy store, although I really don't like chewing on candy, except for licorice, chocolate (if you count letting it all melt into your mouth...chewing), and marshmallows (again a kind of candy that sorta melt in your mouth).
Now that I'm on, as an official author, I thought I'd know what to do here. There are guidelines and such, but really, I'm here, I think to hopefully connect with you, my readers.
I love connecting with readers - that's why I write and that's why I go out and do book signings. At the end of the day, writing books isn't all about me. It's all about whether or not I've connected with you in some way with a story, an experience, characters, or moment.
I hope to participate in discussions here on Goodreads and let you know what I think are great books and great authors, too. And hopefully we can get more people in love with books, too.
