STONE - A Time to Love
Spring is a time of change so I decided to start a new series. STONE (A Time to Love Book 1) is a time travel sci-fi romance. It goes on Amazon pre-order beginning Sunday, March 6, 2016 at a discounted price of $1.99. (Psst...don't tell anyone but the price will increase to $2.99 on the release date of March 31. 2016). There are several books out with the title (STONE) so be sure to look for the one with my name on it. :-)
Here's the blurb:
In 2230 Earth was invaded by an alien species. After years of war, the men are gone and the women are left to fight for the survival of the human race. When one of the aliens’ time travel devices is discovered a task force is formed to bring some of Earth’s most elite soldiers into the future.
Lieutenant Sunny Blake is ordered to travel back to 2125 and retrieve Lieutenant Jefferson W. Stone. Sunny can lead a squad of fighters and keep them alive, but she’s never had to deal with a man like Stone. A man whose reputation on and off the battlefield has proceeded him into the twenty-third century.
Stone has two interests. High-risk missions and lust-filled nights of pleasure with the many ladies who pursue him. Finding himself thrust into the future, where the women know how to fight but don’t know what to do with a lusty man, is the last place he’d ever want to be.
*
I finished STONE's book so now I'm back on the Zarronian Bondmate series working on Ronin's book. Then, I'll be working on the second book in the new series.
What else is going on? Well, the weather is heating up and its almost time to plant a garden. This year I'm so busy I've decided to only plant tomatoes and maybe a few green beans. Two crops that are easy to harvest and will give me a reason to go outside while the sun is shining. Other than that I plan to get in a lot of writing with a little fishing and some swimming as soon as the water warms up.
I hope you have great plans for the spring.
Happy reading.
Mardi

Aw - Spring
I've waited all winter for spring to arrive but I forgot that April showers create puddles and mud.
As soon as the sun came out and melted the snow I dug out my sandals, put them on and left the house. Twenty feet into my journey I turned back with wet shoes and muddy toes.
The critters aren't having trouble with the rain because there's a lot of twitterpattng going on out there. The birds are singing and flying back and forth with twigs and pieces of string for their nests. The sweet little squirrel is being chased up and down my pecan tree by several eager males.
And, I'm stuck in the house with slowly drying muddy shoes and cold feet. So, maybe this is a good time to just announce the news and wait for the sun to warm things up.
The News:
STONE (A Time to Love series ) is on Kindle Unlimited now. Its the first in a new series. If you read it let me know what you think. You know I love hearing from you.
I'm busy writing The Doms of Club Mystique 7, "Her Viking Dom: Thor's Story." Hopefully, I'll be done with it and have it sent to Siren by the middle of May. Then, they'll decide if or when they're going to publish it.
Then, I go back to Ronin's Bondmate in the Zarronian Warrior series. And, CALDER, in A Time to Love series.
That should keep me busy through Spring and into Summer. Although you never can tell who or what will pop into my imagination when I'm in my garden with my hands in the dirt (not mud).
I hope you're having a great end to winter and beginning of spring.
Happy reading!

What I'm up to now.
Her Viking Dom has been released on Bookstrand (I'm really sorry it won't be available on Amazon, or other distributors for 3 months but I'm not in charge of that). So, I'm done with that book for the moment and moving onto the next project.

What's that, you ask? Well, I'm writing a paranormal novella for Mystic Realms: A Limited Edition Collection of Paranormal & Urban Fantasy Romances. Its on pre-order right now on Amazon (and other places) for 99 cents! Twenty authors / twenty great novellas. My book in the collection, TORKEL, is a steamy paranormal, time travel novel. Here's the blurb:
*
Cursed with immortality, Torkel MacAsgaill has spent centuries exiled to an abandoned village in the Highlands. His only chance of happiness depends on his one true love finding and falling in love with him, then choosing to stay with him forever.
Ella Ross’s acting career has made her rich and famous. When life goes wrong, and she needs a place to hide, she remembers an ad for an isolated cottage in the Highlands of Scotland. She contacts the Misty Glen Travel Agency and rents the cottage for a month. It’ll be the perfect place to rest while she plans a new future.
Torkel is living proof that magic and curses exist, but Ella doesn’t believe in either of those things. When her car breaks down, and Torkel rescues her, they’ll be alone at the cottage while true love searches for them.
*
I'm also working on the fifth book in the Zarronian Warriors series, Rolf, but another book in The Mating Challenge is begging for my attention. So, what's a writer to do? We'll see what happens.
*
And, I've decided to take a lot of road trips this Spring and Summer. I intend to write about them on my new blog, Mardi Maxwell Books and Road Trips. But, of course, I'll have to wait for the weather to let up a little for that. Today its freezing cold and the roads are icy with more ice on the way.
*
In the meantime, I'm dreaming of warm weather and fresh tomatoes from the garden. I hope you all are staying safe.
Happy reading,
Mardi

HER VIKING DOM available now
Wow, its been a long wait but Her Viking Dom is now available on Amazon and other distributors. :-) The buy links are here on Goodreads along with the cover and the blurb. Its the final book in the Doms of Club Mystique series and I really hope people enjoy it. If you take the time to read it I'd love to read your review. Unicorns may live on glitter but writers live on reviews you know! lol
I also have a new book coming out in a few days on April 10, 2018. TORKEL is an immortal Highland warrior time-travel short in the Mystic Realms collection. 20 authors joined together to write a collection of paranormal and urban fantasy stories for your pleasure. I've read a lot of the excerpts from this collection...and WOW! I can hardly wait to get my hands on it. Be sure to grab a copy and enter the contests (one right here on Goodreads) for a chance to win.
Here's the blurb for Torkel -
Cursed with immortality for a deed he didn’t do, Torkel MacAsgaill has spent centuries exiled to an abandoned village in the Highlands. His only hope of happiness depends on his one true love finding the glen, falling in love with him, and choosing to stay forever.
Ella Ross has a successful acting career, but she needs a place to hide when her life goes wrong. She contacts the Misty Glen Travel Agency and leases a quaint, but isolated, cottage in the Scottish Highlands. It’s the perfect place to avoid the paparazzi while she plans a new future.
Ella is lost on a mountain road when her car breaks down. The sun is setting and the temperature is dropping as a storm grows in intensity. She sees a light in the distance and leaves her car, hoping to find help. Torkel is sitting by his fire glad to be warm and dry when his hounds alert him to something going on in the glen. He releases them and they lead him to a beautiful but unconscious woman.
Alone at his cottage, love seeks Ella and Torkel in a hidden glen in the Highlands.
Now, for what's going on at my house. Sunny and cool today but ice and snow in a couple days. I'm covering my peach trees to protect them but haven't even begun to garden yet. Weird weather. Otherwise I'm making a few plans for road trips - digging for diamonds in Arkansas and sitting on a sandy beach along the Southern coast sometime this summer. Trying to get in some writing and lots of reading as well.
Hope your Spring is going great. Stay safe and happy reading.
