Donna Chaffee is a retired County financial manager (as well as a former staffer for Senator Robert F. Kennedy) who lives in Los Angeles. She graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a B.A. in Political Science. In her spare time, Ms. Chaffee enjoys writing and traveling on ships. She's been on more than 30 cruises, including several transatlantic crossings, which has provided her with a wealth of knowledge about what goes on at sea -- both above and below deck. She counts a number of crew members as friends and received the assistance of a retired ship’s Captain on some of the technical aspects of this novel.
