Parting Chances Cover Reveal!!

Two things for you today.

1. The Parting Chances cover reveal! Pretty exciting stuff.

2. Something exciting that happened while I was writing Parting Chances! Again, exciting stuff!

First - if you missed it, here's what Parting Chances is all about.

The road of Haley Cavanaugh’s life has been filled with cracks, potholes and detour signs. Her mom’s cancer forced her to grow up too fast and her brother has moved across the country instead of sticking around when she needs him most. Now, her parents are forcing her to move out. They say she needs to follow through with the plans she’s set for herself, but Haley is torn between her dreams and her family’s reality. The only thing she has to look forward to is living with her best friend, Kyler.  What she doesn't need right now? Eli Park. Haley remembers him as Kyler’s boyfriend’s geeky roommate, but he’s anything but geeky now. Now, he's downright hot. And Haley cannot get him out of her head.

It would be easier if they didn’t have class together five days a week. Or have weekly study dates. And if she didn’t spend way too much time with Kyler at Eli’s house. But, the closer he gets and the harder she falls, the more Haley pulls away. Her heart is too fragile to end up broken on the side of the road. She thinks she’s got it under control until Eli brings home another girl and Haley realizes what she has to lose.

As Haley’s life is turned further upside down, will she be left to pick up the pieces of her heart alone?

Picture Isn't it gorgeous? Nicole from Cover Shot Creations did an AMAZING job!

So, you may have noticed those few little white words above the title. You know, the ones that say this is book #1 in the Fighting Chance series.

Yeah. That.

I always knew this book would just be ONE book. This story was going to end by the last page of this book. I always knew that, and I was going to stick with that.

And I did.

This book is Haley and Eli's story.

But while writing their story... I started to fall in love with the secondary characters. So much so, that I knew I needed to write their stories too.
So, book #2 will be Kyler and Noah's story. And book #3 will be Caleb and Emma's story.

For sure book #2 will come out next year some time.
When? I have no idea.

I would love to get both books out next year... but we'll see how that goes.

But what I do know is that Parting Chances is coming out November 13th! And it is up on Amazon for pre-order RIGHT NOW!!!!

Want to order it and make sure it shows up on your Kindle bright and early on November 13th?
Here's the link: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ODJ2LQK

And that's all for now. Time to get back to formatting that paperback!

The One Where I Tell You I'm Sorry...

I'm going to be honest with you.

....I am horrible at blogging.

I always have been. I cannot tell you the number of times I have created a new blog for something (books, life, motherhood...) and I have a good couple of weeks and then I drop like a fly.
I know I shouldn't be neglecting this one. But I have. And I'm sorry.

So - let's give a few updates, shall we?

Choose Us is still hanging onto some of those best sellers charts. Which is crazy and insane and something I would never have dreamed would be happening (or ever happen). But especially not with it being almost 5 months out now. Not to mention the 132 reviews on Amazon. Or the 171 reviews on Goodreads... Or heck, just the 1,462 ratings on Goodreads. That means I know 1,462 people have read my book. Crazy!

So now that I have this pretty successful book under my belt - what do I do next? What do I do to try and top that? Is that even a possibility?!

I've been pounding away on my keyboard for months now, trying to tell the story of Haley and Eli. I adore these two. They are fun and sweet and just amazing. However, they have been pretty hard to work with for a while. Refusing to talk to me, refusing to tell me their story. Refusing to let me write in Parting Chances! So frustrating.
(and yes, I do talk about them like that. It's how it works...)
But guess what!! They have been talking lately and my word count has been going up and I'm finishing chapter after chapter and it's fantastic. Which means, I'm probably, hopefully, most likely going to hit my deadline to send it to my first round betas in September. Hoping for a quick turnaround since I have an editor set up for October... and another beta read... and out to you guys in mid-November!

Yes! I said it. Parting Chances will be out in mid-November!!!

And my cover artist is working away on the cover right now. I have not seen anything yet, but have been refreshing my e-mail like crazy these last few days, just waiting for it! I'm excited for it. I can't wait to see it, since I know it'll be amazing. And I can't wait to show YOU it!

...I'm sure I'll be setting up a cover reveal, so you'll probably have to wait a little bit, but it'll be worth it. Promise!

Aside from Parting Chances, I've also been working on two co-author projects. Both are Paranormal Romances, which is a step out of my comfort zone... you know, the whole paranormal thing. I can do romance all day, every day. But paranormal is a bit more tricky. I adore both projects - they are so different from one another and I'm really excited for you to read them... but it won't be until at least next year. So, I'll just sit here and tease you for the next few months! Hehe.

Okay - that's my update. I think that's all. I've rambled enough for today. I'll try to keep this updated more often. Guess I need to figure out things to talk about.
For now, I must get back to Parting Chances and finish a few chapters!

Choose Us 100 Reviews Giveaway!

You guys are amazing.
When I published Choose Us, I thought, maybe I'd sell 50 copies.
And most of those were to family and friends.

Not only did you guys blow my mind by actually buying my book and reading it...
But you reviewed it too!

And there wasn't just 10 or 20 reviews on Amazon.
Oh no.

No. You guys reviewed it!

Never in a million years, did I think that 2.5 months after hitting publish, I'd have 100 reviews on Amazon.
.... well, as of posting it's 109 - so still completely blown away!

I wanted to do something to thank you.
I know it takes time to write a review.
I know a lot of people usually don't know what to write for a review.
But you left them.
You left short ones, long ones, ones that made me smile and laugh, ones that made me say "yes! she got what I was trying to say!".... and there were ones that hurt.
But they were all reviews, all the readers opinions and I respect each and every one of them.
And I thank you for each 109 of them!

Now, with all that being said. I want to do a giveaway for you!!!
Yay! Giveaways!!!!!

Up for grabs...

UtopYA Con 2014

Yes yes.
I have been the BIGGEST slacker ever, with updating this blog.

I apologize.

Life is crazy.
So. Very. Crazy.

I barely have time to write my next book!!

I mean, that's priority, right? So, when I do get the writing bug, I go there.

But finding time to write?!
Oh jeez.

I thought getting a desk and making a nice little office area would help.
But my kids just want to hang out with me. Which means, sitting on my lap, pulling things off my bookshelves, crawling under my desk and playing by my feet... or just all around being really needy.

So... no. I have not gotten much writing done. And I'm starting to panic a little... especially if I want to get this out to you guys when I imagined I would.

Anyway, moving on.

Anyone going to UtopYA this weekend??

I'm not.
I'm sad about that.
You have no idea how much I wanted to go. But I couldn't find a babysitter and couldn't justify the cost this year.

But next year? Oh... next year it is on!!

So, I may not be going. But there are some Rebel Writers who will be there! And they have a table!! And they have planned an AWESOME scavenger hunt for all the fans!!

So, if you are heading down to UtopYA this weekend, be sure to stop by exhibitor table 26. Chat up with Theresa and Regan (and whoever else might be there) and sign up for the scavenger hunt!

I'll be following those hashtags on Instagram, Twitter and FB - so I can join in the fun that way! And there are some awesome prizes up for grabs!

Don't miss out!

One Month Number Game! & Giveaway!

Hi All!

I have a number game for you today.

(And before I go into this, I want you to know, I am in no way bragging about these numbers. I am just so incredibly thankful for all of you and what you have done for me.)

So numbers.

30 - The number of days since Choose Us has been released.

50 - The number of e-book sales I was hoping for within the first month.

5 - The number of paperbacks I was expecting to be bought (because I knew a few friends who were going to buy).

0 - The number of borrows from Amazon Prime I was expecting.

Now, it's not that I didn't have high expectations for Choose Us. I knew it was a great book - I loved it and had gotten amazing feedback from the lovely ladies who had already read it.
But I'm a newbie. So, I was keeping my predictions/expectations low. I had done enough research to know that your debut novel typically doesn't do amazing.

Back to numbers.

#3,981 - First Amazon Best Sellers Rank I took a screenshot of, because I figured it would be the highest and I was incredibly excited about that.

#1,849 - First time I broke into the 1000s and was FREAKING.OUT!

#963 - When I broke into the hundreds. WHA?!

Okay, I could go on and on with this, because I took a screenshot every time my ranking got higher and higher.

#162 - The HIGHEST Bestseller Rank (Paid in Kindle Store) I hit.

#1 - Bestseller Rank I hit in Women's Fiction > Humor

NUMBER ONE FREAKING BESTSELLER!  Um..... what?!?!?!?!

Okay - now... if that wasn't enough to make me pee my pants and scream uncontrollably...(The screaming happened...not the pee)...Here are some numbers that just BLOW.MY.MIND.

1 - Number of days it took to hit that 50 sale goal.

ONE FREAKING DAY.

You are amazing.

100+ - The number of times that 50 goal got hit.

To say I'm surprised/happy/amazed/ecstatic, is a HUGE understatement!

I'll go back to that 50 number. FIFTY. That's what I was hoping to sell. That's what I was going to be super freaking excited if I hit. FIFTY. 5-0.

You have left me speechless.

2 - The number of words I want to say to you.

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's really all I can say. You all are so amazing!

I just....

Unbelievable is what I would call these past 30 days.

Unbelievable. Unexpected. Utterly Amazing.

I feel like 'Thank you' just isn't enough for what you've done.

So - how about a giveaway?!

One person will win a signed paperback copy of Choose Us. (US only!!)

BUT, I'm not forgetting about you awesome international folks!
So, for you, one person will win a $10 Amazon Gift Card. **This contest is for international fans only. Entries from non- international fans will be deleted. There will be no exceptions.**

Just enter the Rafflecopter giveaway below!

Thank you a million times over!!!!

Newsletter = Exclusive Travis POV!!

Hi Friends!

A few things for you today.

The first. Have you signed up for my newsletter yet? If you do, you will receive exclusive updates, teasers and contests/giveaways. ONLY for those signed up for the newsletter.

The very first newsletter will go out on Monday morning (May 5th). It will include an update on my current WIP (maybe even a teaser) and an exclusive never-before-seen (and never to be seen again) Travis POV. Seriously folks - you do NOT want to miss this POV. I haven't decided exactly which scene/chapter it'll be from... but it'll probably be from Chapter 11 or Chapter 25. I mean, you don't really want to miss that, do you? You really want to know what is going on inside Travis' (stupid) head!

So - go sign up, you can do it under the Contact Me tab. The last day for you to sign up to get this special POV is Sunday, May 4th. Because, again, the newsletter is going out MONDAY MORNING! So get signed up before then so you don't miss out!

Just to tease you a little more... what I'm saying is you could either get more of this:

“You’ll have time after your date. Now, go get ready.” Jim clicked off the line before I could answer.

“DAMNIT!” I slammed the phone back on the counter and punched the door shut. The longer I waited to talk to Riley the worse I felt it could be.

or this:

After not seeing her for two weeks, my heart jumped when she walked towards me. But that wasn’t all. She was undeniably gorgeous. A fact that had not been lost on me since I turned sixteen. If I had balls back then, I would have asked her out back then. But I was chicken shit, and scared of losing my best friend. Then I started dating girls the exact opposite of her, trying to get her out of my mind, because, let’s face it, dating your best friend is never a good idea—especially when you are young and stupid.

So... you know... sign up!!

The next thing...
On Saturday - it will have been a month since I released Choose Us. I'll be posting a blog that day about the craziness that has been this past month - and how you all completely exceeded my expectations of selling my first book. Seriously, it is still very unbelievable to me! As a thank you - there may be some sort of giveaway. So be sure to check back then!

And.... well, that's about all.
Make sure to sign up for the newsletter!!!! I want you to understand why Travis was doing the things he did! And really, do you want to miss a Travis POV?! (I'll make it easy for you... SIGN UP HERE!!!!!!!)

That is all for now. I'll see you again on Saturday!!

Want Your Name in my Next Book?!

Let's face it... I can't talk about Choose Us forever.

Even though it's only been out a week. And I probably should still be talking about it. I just feel like that's all you've heard from me since I started this whole thing.

*snickers*

So, I'm working on my next book *hooray!!*, and I am horrible at picking names for things.

Seriously, do you know how long it took me to name my main characters?!
Okay, well, maybe not in this story. But another one I'm working on - it.took.forever!

For my current WIP, I need the name of a college. And that's where you come in.

You get to name my college!!!

All you need to do is leave a comment down below (or on the post on my Facebook page) with your suggestion. And yes, multiple suggestions are allowed.

****Note - I would prefer it to not be a real college name. But I can be, as long as it's not a real college in Wisconsin, since that's where the story takes place.****

I'll be picking my favorite name on Sunday (4/13) at 10pm (CST).

But that's not all!!!!

No no... there is more.

If I pick your suggestion, I'll name a character after you in the story (or whatever name you want.. as long as it's not already a name I'm using). And I can't guarantee the character will be loveable. Just got to put that out there!

So, not only are you naming the college and when you read the story you can tell all your friends, "I named that school!" BUT, there will also be a character named after you.

Imagine all the bragging you can do!!

Anywho, comment below (or the Facebook post). You have until Sunday (4/13) at 10pm (CST). And submit, submit, submit! I don't care how many suggestions you give me!

And.... GO!!!

Also - THANK YOU to everyone who has read Choose Us! (Yeah, back to that old story... haha!)

Thank You!! And a Special Teaser!

You guys.

Do you have any idea how amazingly unexpected this weekend was?

I had no idea my book would sell like it has.

I mean - I had my categories picked on the KDP site, and I put "new adult" down, just because. Never thinking I would end up on a list.
Especially a New Adult list.

Do you have any idea how many books are on that list?!

But look - this was my highest ranking (which was on Sunday).
Picture Wha?!?!?!
What is going on here?!

Oh, and no big deal... but on the Romance>Sports list... I passed all three "The Game Series" books by J. Sterling.
Seriously... she is amazing!! And I know her books have been out for a while.. but to pass them?!

WHAT?!?!?!

No.. this is not really happening. It must be a dream.

I just....

THANK YOU!!!!

Thank you to everyone who has bought the book.
Who has read the book.
And who has reviewed the book.

You seriously have no idea how much this means to me!!!

So.... I want to give you a special 'thank you' teaser today.

A Travis POV teaser.

It'll be posted on the Extras page.

If you haven't read Choose Us yet, this POV will contain spoilers, so you may not want to go click it, until you are done.

Thank you, thank you, thank you - a million times over!!!

Choose Us is LIVE!!!!

Ever since Choose Us finished with the editing process, I have become a little trigger happy.

I had it all uploaded on KDP and just needed to click "Save and Publish".

I kept holding off though, since my release date isn't until tomorrow. And darn it, I wanted to publish when I said I would!

Well, a friend told me I should hit publish now, so it's available all day on Friday.
Smart... especially since it could take up to 12 hours to go live.

So, I hit publish at around 4:00 pm today.
Then proceeded to refresh the KDP website every minute.

At 5:30 pm, I clicked refresh and guess what?!

IT WAS LIVE!!!

12 hours my butt. More like a whole hour and a half.

Anywho - the whole point here....

CHOOSE US IS LIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And I haven't puked or had a major panic attack. So we're all good so far still.

Here's the link:
http://www.amazon.com/Choose-Us-Caylie-Marcoe-ebook/dp/B00JGABH1Q

It's only the e-book that's up so far.

I approved the paperback proof yesterday and Createspace said it takes 5-7 days to upload it to Amazon. Sooooo..... I'll let you know when that is live too!

But if you wanted to just buy the Kindle version, I wouldn't mind.
