Excerpt from my upcoming book: My Ugly Beauty, Book 1 in the Beauty Wars series
Jonathan shakes his head. "Love isn't real. It's an illusion."
Oh wow. He doesn't believe in love? How can a person not believe in such an important thing? What kind of world does he live in to not believe in the most essential human emotion? What did he experience to have lost faith in that?
"Have you seen a therapist for...?" I ask.
"Why would I?" he asks.
"I just... I just don't think it's healthy to not believe in love," I whisper.
“Love is…” He shakes his head. “The illusion of love creates far more evil than it does good. My mother stayed with her abuser in the name of love. You stayed with your ex all in the name of love. We sell our souls to try and attain it from those who won’t give it to us or who use it against us. What good has it gotten you?”
He’s right. Too many people give up their lives chasing that stupid ideal, betraying themselves all to create the illusion that they have this thing called love. But deep down, I also feel that surely, there must be a pure kind of love, a love that is real, that doesn’t bring pain and heartache. A love that just keeps getting better over time.
“I don’t think I can give up on love just yet,” I say softly.

New Release Announcement!
I'm currently working on a different kind of series than I've ever written. It's darker than my other novels and has the POV of a male and female. Here's the blurb for the book, and I can't wait to share the books with you!
In high society, everyone who’s anyone sponsors a contestant in Beauty Wars, a cut-throat year-long competition that aims to radically transform women through any means necessary.
Jonathan Win, the youngest billionaire in America, thrives on conquering what others say can’t be done. He has long fantasized about creating the perfect woman. He has a team of pageant coaches, surgeons, aestheticians, and more, ready for the challenge.
Christie Rivers, a former beauty pageant contestant, is at the brink of homelessness. After having recently ended a bad relationship, vowing to never be controlled by a man again, she finds herself at a crossroads, with no desirable options.
But when Jonathan runs into her with his car, fate intervenes.
Jonathan’s gut tells him that if he can convince Christie to let him sponsor her for Beauty Wars, she’ll win. A man driven by power and control, and deep, dark, twisted desires, he expects her to bow down to his terms, even when it comes to extreme plastic surgeries and other invasive and painful procedures.
However, Christie resists signing the year-long contract. She’s done with pageants and with controlling men. Even so, she finds herself desperate to be close to Jonathan, a man who has a reputation for being the king of heartbreakers.
