AtoZ Theme Reveal
A to Z Blog Challenge is here again, and this year I’ve decided to participate. I’ve done it a few years back and I’m glad to do it again. So click the more button down below to see what my theme will be.
Anyone who follows my blog, especially my posts for IWSG, already knows what my theme is this year. But for new visitors participating in AtoZ, my theme will be based on my upcoming book (due June 15th), Character Astrology Profiles.
My book will use Greek and Chinese Zodiac to map out 144...

IWSG – Going Down the Right Path & Announcement
First I want to give a shout out to Nicohle Christopherson. She is co-hosting IWSG this month. She is also my first student, and it has been a privilege to teach her. Like many beginners, she was resistant to my teachings, but over time, saw the value of my wisdom. In that time, we’ve watch the first 12 seasons of RedvsBlue (good to watch for great dialogue), and started watching Elementary together, and a number of movies, many of which she thought she wouldn’t like.

Updates about Site and Book
Every Friday on the IWSG FB group, they ask us to post our achievements for the week. I hope they don’t mind that instead of posting it all there, I am making a post about it. Several things to update everyone on.
Let’s start with the website. Thanks to donations on my GoFundMe (see ad above) and some private donations, I have enough to keep my site running for an additional 6 months. I have adjusted the GoFundMe for how much I need for the other 6 months. Thank you everyone who has donated....

#IWSG Book Reveal(ish)
This month, I promised to talk about my big project that has kept me very busy. So busy I haven’t done anything else that I really need to do. I do apologize for all the secrecy, but I need to make sure that it is I who releases this, as it may very well help me out of my financial situation.
I love writing and I love teaching. So it’s only natural that I want to do writing help books. My books will mostly center on character creation. I have this long overly complicated method of making cha...

How Elementary Helped Me Become a Better Writer
http://thetamnews.org/wp-content/uplo...
Start off, I am currently at the halfway point for the current phase I’m in for my project. Likely after I finish this and the next phase I’ll be at the halfway point for the project. I’ve decided that for February IWSG, I will reveal what the project is.
I love the show Elementary. Sherlock Holmes in NY with a female Watson. What’s not to love. It’s a great show and writers can learn a great deal in watching it, especially t...

What’s It Like to Write a Writing Help Book
In one word: Tedious.
You thought writing a book was hard enough, but doing a writing help book is a whole other beast.
I’m sure if you ask Angela Ackerman or Joanna Penn, they might tell you all the joy they had in doing their help books. It is a lot of fun to do, but right at the beginning, it is a lot of research, and putting in an organized way, so you can then write your book from that.
It’s where I am right now. I have the information, but the phase I’m at right now is trying to make s...

Profiling Personalities
Given my IWSG post this month, I am working diligently towards a goal of sustaining myself. Not just because I want to be self-reliant, but because I have to be. I’m sure another place would open up to me and I can move and live there for a spell, but I don’t want to keep doing that. As they say, Need is the Mother of Invention.
Look at the name of the ship. From Red vs Blue.
I want to chronicle my journey as it pertains to writing. This blog is a major part of me, and all of you who visit my...

#IWSG – This Is The Year
2017 will be my year. Not because I want it to be, but because I need it to be.
My current living arrangement ends in July this year. After that, I don’t know what will happen to me. I’d rather move into my own place, even if just a studio apartment, and also have insurance (rather than Medicaid) to figure out how to fix me (or treat me enough to be productive).
Having a disability is tough enough, but having one and not having any avenues in which to get help, has really been a great challe...

#IWSG – Mentoring NaNo
We are now in the middle of NaNo, a time honoured tradition of trying to write a story in 30 days. This year I am not participating, but NaNo is still a time for me to celebrate.
First, there is the forums. It’s like Christmas comes early. This is just information upon information, upon information. So many people with thoughts, and ideas, and suggestions… it’s a time to collect it all and store it for when you might need some inspiration at a later time. I go to posts and print them out, w...
