Guest Blog: How are my Vampires Different on David Lee Summer site

intellectual selfie png colourFor the next two months, I will be doing a series of guest blog posts to help market my Kickstarter campaign. The first post is featured on David Lee Summer’s site, talking about the vampires of the Daygar Legacy series. These days everyone has a vampire tale that is either immediately loved or hated simply because it is a Vampire tale. My goal is to try to do something different that still feels familiar. Go check out the article.

Interview – David Lee Summers

DLS-Author-Photo-pngI had the privilege to interview David Lee Summers. I met him at Phoenix Comicon and asked for his help in promoting my Kickstarter and since then have emailed each other several times. He is one of many writers I respect and look up to, hoping to one day match his level of success.

David has broke the mold of traditional writers by writing outside his genre and being quite successful at it. He is known for his Vampire tales and is currently doing a Steampunk western-era story. Join me in welc...

Daygar Legacy – Chapter 1 Part 1

daygar legacy coming soonAt long last, the first part of Chapter 1 is available for view. This has been 4 years in the making. The purpose of this is to show those who support my Kickstarter campaign what they are investing in. Admittedly, it is with mistakes. It is only a first draft and could use the hand of a professional. However, I am very proud of how it came together and this is just but a taste of what the rest of the novel will be like.

The first book is called Templar Five. This book explores what that means...

Tools of the Trade — Coopetition [REPOST]

tools of the tradeOriginal post on 01/28/2014

All writers have their little tricks and shorthand to be better writers, and I am no different. Some of what I do seems unnecessary while other things I do are almost unheard of from others. What I do is what works for me and I share this with my followers (both present and future) in hopes that it helps other writers. Today we discuss working together with your competition.

COOPETITION

Such a stranger word. Basically it is combining Competition and Cooperation togeth...

Book Review: How to Market a Book by Joanna Penn — Repost

Originally posted: Jan 20th, 2014

Find it on: Amazon Goodreads 18135290 http://www.thecreativepenn.com/ From what I can tell, I’m not the first to do a review on this book and so many have given great reviews. I’m not exactly breaking ground here in this review, but I do talk to a lot of starting writers who need a boost forward and this book is unknown to them. I hope that those writers visit my blog, so this review is for those who need a good starting point. And this book is that starting point. I...

This article briefly goes over Twitter. Now most of the tools I discuss in my blog will directly help you with writing, but Twitter is a marketing tools, much like other social...

Kickstarter Update 6 – Weekly Posts

I’m a firm believer in people knowing what they pay for. On a week to week basis, I will be posting either my written work or a video.

The written work will be the first chapter of “Templar Five”, broken up into 4 parts. This will be a first draft only and meant for you to get a feel of what the story is about. Every few weeks, you will get another part of the story, leading to the most important chapter of the entire series, giving you everything you need to know.

The videos will be extra vide...

Worldbuilding #9b – Advanced Forests

WB IconI want to apologize again. I wanted to get more articles done for my Worldbuilding series, and it is now the end of the month. I started a kickstarter campaign to try to get the funds together to write my new series. This took more time and energy than I anticipated. However, if you get a chance, take a look at the campaign, there are maps available that you can purchase, designed by me. A variety of sizes. Any maps I don’t sell at the end of my KS, will be available to purchase on my site. K...

Kickstarter is Working

Not much to say here but I woke up this morning to see $3 on my account. Amazon did something. I am slowly building up now. I am not recreating Kickstarter, I will just take the loss of 4 days. If you were waiting to donate… go do it now… if you could please.

Update to my Kickstarter Situation

daygar legacy coming soonSome of you already know about this, but many of you who have tried to donate have seen that it won’t let you. I’m going to go over what has happened and what is happening with my Kickstarter.

For the last month, I had worked hard on getting everything in place. I had 3 months worth of work to do within a few weeks. I did everything I could to check and double check and then check once more that I got everything right and I didn’t break any rules.

It’s like Murphey’s Law states, “If you anticip...
