Laurali again
March 9, 2014
Laurali
Here’s a drawing of my friend Laurali, who lives in Florida. Originally, I wanted to draw Florida scenery growing out of her head, but I couldn’t find any decent photos of oak trees draped with Spanish moss. (When I think of Florida, I don’t think of palm trees. I think of oak trees covered in gray moss. When I was growing up, I spent a lot of summers with my grandparents in Tampa.)
Anyway, after combing through Google Image Search for a few hours, I finally decided to dump the Florida scenery idea and stick a dinosaur and a nutcracker on Laurali’s head instead. And here it is.
My new job is going well. It’s harder work than my previous job, but it’s not nearly as stressful. I spent most of Friday shoveling sludge out of gaps in the floor. And once I had done that, I shoveled the sludge into a big metal box.

Clockwork 4 – Death
Here is Clockwork 4 – Death, the last picture in the series. In this one, the man has grown old. He lives in comfort, enjoying the wealth he has amassed. But it doesn’t matter. His life is over now. Time has caught up with him.
And a sinus headache has caught up with me, so I’m going to get ready for bed. I hope you have a great week.
Tomorrow I start my new job. I’m excited and nervous.

Citizens of Purgatory is about a young newspaper reporter who moves to a small town and confronts a bad driver one morning … only to discover that the bad driver is actually a notorious killer who only spent two years in prison. Under the Electric Sun is a science fiction novel about a cybernetic raccoon who lives in an underground city.

Clockwork 3 – Rat Race
And here’s the third picture in the Clockwork series. In this drawing, the man is middle-aged. He is miserable and frustrated and caught up in the rat race. You can see the clock robot in the background, running toward him with an axe. I’ll post the fourth and final picture a little bit later.
I hope you all have a nice weekend. I quit my job today after working there for five years. I start my new one on Monday. God is good.

Convair Model 118 ConvAirCar takes a test flight in California in November 1947.
Originally posted on I hope to be remembered for my atrocities!:

The handling dynamics in the air would be interesting to say the least…
“The Convair Model 118 ConvAirCar (also known as the Hall Flying Automobile) was a prototype flying car of which two were built. Intended for mainstream consumers, two prototypes were built and flown. The first prototype was lost after a safe, but damaging, low fuel incident. Subsequently, the second prototype was rebuilt from the damaged aircraft and flown. By that time, little enthusiasm remained for the project and the program ended shortly thereafter.” (Source)

Clockwork 2 – Spring Chickens
Here’s the second picture in the Clockwork series. In this one, the main character is no longer a fetus growing on a tree. He’s a teenager now. And he’s in love.
I’m about to start a new job soon, so I won’t be posting quite as frequently for a while. I want to focus most of my energy and attention on learning my new job skills. I’ll need to clear my head and put my creative stuff on hold. But I’ll still keep posting these old Clockwork drawings.
Have a lovely week.

Clockwork 1 – Birth
Here’s a photo of Clockwork 1 – Birth, the first picture in a four-part series I did back in the summer of 2010. I posted it on my Facebook page last night and I thought I would share it here too.
I hope you’re having a good week. In my corner of the world, it feels like spring is slowly easing in. The snow is long gone and the tree frogs are singing outside.
