The new barbarism: A return to feudalism

The progressive left seems to have no concept of what civilization is, and of what undergirds civilization.

Business prospect incentives discourage innovation

Complicating the law and raising taxes, then lowering them for businesses that know how to lobby local or state governments, is not a recipe for encouraging innovation. It is a recipe for killing it.

Nathan Phillips, character assassin

“That is not some disagreement about who went up to whom, or whether the wall was mentioned by the boys, or what caps some of them wore. This is an extremely defamatory statement by a political agitator, designed to shape perceptions that the boys were vicious racists with a killer instinct. The language is purposefully inflammatory and of the harshest variety.

“It is a lie, and unless Phillips is clinically insane and out of touch with reality (something I don’t believe is the case), it is a knowing and purposeful lie about a bunch of teenagers who were minding their own business. It is a lie so egregious, so foul, that I really lack words to describe the depth and depravity of that lie.” “Is this a banana, or is this an apple? Are they even pretending to care about the truth any longer?”

Failure theater in the Syrian war

Just when I think I’m starting to understand the Democrats’ new policies post-2016, they come out of left field and support war in Syria. Are they flip-flopping because of failure theater or because they hate Trump?

Why don’t taxes go down when population goes up?

The left says that government can better take advantage of economies of scale. So why don’t they lower taxes when population rises?

Money Changes Everything: Empowering the vicious

Barbarism empowers the rich, the powerful, the vicious, the strong. Civilization empowers everyone else. Gun control and centralized economies, darlings of the progressive left, have empowered the vicious since the beginning of time. The beltway crowd prefers no competition from people free to barter, or free to defend themselves.
