New Joint. Things Start. At the HEART.

True that. Happy much. Appreciative to the HEART we are. Excerpt? Cool.

"How did it start?

With a bump and a thud, or maybe it’s a thud, followed by a bump, not that the bump thud order of things is truly important.

How it started though, that is important. It’s everything.

One minute there isn’t a body stuck to the front grill of your car and the next minute there is. Not that you notice this until you and your wife get home, leave your car, find blood splattered across the hood and see the twisted body hanging there and not moving.

So, it sort of starts like that. Though even that arguably isn’t how it starts."

Multifesto: a Henri D'Mescan Reader (The Remix Edition) is happening. And it is freaking cool.

Very cool really and quite honored we are to be included with such a fine coterie of writers. And yes, we just used the word coterie. Possibly even correctly.

"Tanzer captures the character and the moment perfectly." Lost Boy gets some Amazon love. And likes it. A lot.

Very much in fact. So thank you to the David S. Atkinson for that, and drinks on us, for sure, when next we meet. Now, how about some excerpt? Cool.

"Tanzer captures the character and the moment perfectly. Maybe the Corey thing is a bit of an extra draw for me, being a child of the 80s and all, but I think it's more than that. Tanzer captures what it must feel like to live entirely within that media world than even a nobody like me can understand what it must be like."

"THING IN HONOR OF BEN TANZER’S BIRTHDAY." Or if you prefer, a view and a yell, a warmly embraced tradition, and some most beautious Tomaloffian Ben Tanzer birthday prose.

There is this and there was that. It is a Tomaloffian birthday tradition now. And it is appreciated. All of it, and endlessly at that.

"You wake to the sound of your own voice spelling out the officer’s request. “T-A-N-Z-E-R. Ben. That’s B-E-N.” A man with a lampshade on his head—or something that looks like a man with a lampshade for a head, or the silhouette of a full-figured lamp with the periodic foot to foot weight shift of shirtless man—watches quietly over the exchange. There is a slowing of motion; one side of the room is a whirling blur. You: a) check your shirt pockets for an offering of cake, noting your lack of surprise at finding several, or b) pull the remote from the band of your boxers, press “cancel,” & return, complete with stuffed bear, to the scene of the crime."

"For fathers and sons (and the women who love them) everywhere." Daddy Cool get some Goodreads love. And likes it. A lot.

Is the review objective? Maybe? No. Who cares. Not us. We are most appreciative for the Corey Mesler. For his kind words. His contribution. And his endless Meslerness. Now, how about some excerpt? Cool.

"First class anthology put together by a first class guy, Ben Tanzer. For fathers and sons (and the women who love them) everywhere."

This Book Will Change Your Life - Wheatyard by Pete Anderson.

We are so biased and so very Wheatyard. We are also TNB riffage and fairly certain any and all Wheatyard activity has changed our life. We think it will change your life as well. So do go get it now and then let us know how that turns out. Cool? Cool. Now how about some excerpt and blurb? Cool. Hit it.

"Anyway, I was invited to blurb Wheatyard and I had the following to say:

'For the people who tell us books are dying, I would suggest they grab a cold beer, find a porch, and read Wheatyard, so they can remind themselves how much words can still dance on the printed page, and how much feeling, suppressed and otherwise, can be found in this debut novel’s vibrant passages.'

I share this because the thing I want to say about Wheatyard more than anything else is that it is a novel that believes in the power and urgency of words. But this belief is not merely limited to the words splashed across the pages themselves. The characters in Wheatyard believe in words and the printed page as well."
