Untethered Sky an Aurora Award Finalist
Untethered Sky is a finalist for the 2024 Aurora Award for Best Novelette/Novella! I’m immensely grateful to CSFFA voters for giving me an 8th Aurora nomination. Congratulations to all the nominees. An Abundant Year of Short Fiction
It has been a busy year of short fiction releases for me. My novella, Untethered Sky, and the Green Bone Saga short story collection Jade Shards are now both available in print, ebook, and audiobook editions, and I also have a new Poe-inspired short story, “Nameless Here For Evermore,” in The Book of Witches anthology, edited by Jonathan Strahan, which released on August 1st.

Cover Reveal for Jade Shards
Behold the glorious art of Charis Loke that is the cover for Jade Shards, the Green Bone Saga short story collection releasing from Subterranean Press in July. I love how well the cover design complements The Jade Setter of Janloon and weaves in so many details from the four prequel short stories that comprise the collection. Family relationships have always been at the heart of the Green Bone Saga and Charis captured that perfectly.

Announcing: The Last Contract of Isako
Book deal news! My next novel, The Last Contract of Isako, is a cyberpunk samurai space opera (without the space) that I describe as what you’d get if Akira Kurosawa wrote Dune starring a 50-something give-no-fucks swordswoman on her last job, blended with vibes of Blade Runner plus a touch of John Wick. Making the List
Wow. The Green Bone Saga tops Reader’s Digest’s list of the 25 Best Fantasy Series Ever Written, and Jade City is included on Book Riot’s 22 Best Fantasy Books of All Time. More than a year after the publication of Jade Legacy, I’m happy and grateful that the trilogy is still garnering praise and attention.
