2023 Gift Guide for Him!

My 2023 men’s gift guide is here! All of my favorite things to gift Eddie or the guys in my life – and of course so many items that I would love too! This list is versatile and so good!

Everything I’m loving this year for my 2023 men’s gift guide – and everything Eddie is loving too! This is a mix of what I’ve bought him in the past and what he is getting this year. So much to love! Of course these gifts can be for anyone (I want many things on the list below!), but I know all the guys in my life would loooove this stuff! And they are always just so hard to buy for. There are also some great ideas in my gift guide under $25.

2023 MEN’S GIFT GUIDE

Moonlit pajamas. These are my absolute favorites and now they have them for men!! I can’t even handle it.

Jersey knit pajamas. The eberjey ones are also excellent – especially if you don’t want the buttons down the front.

Aura Photo Frame. I gifted this six times in 2021 – it is incredible. I gave it to Eddie for Father’s Day and he has it at work. You upload pics to the app and they appear on the frame – multiple people can do it so it’s great for grandparents too!

Long charging cord. We have about a million of these. Always needed.

Whoop fitness tracker. I got this for Eddie last year and he LOVES it. He has worn it all year. He loves getting different bands too.

Cashmere hooded sweater. I always look for a nice higher end sweater for him. This one is such a great option.

Matchbook prints. Adore these. I got a few for our new house!

Shiatsu Back Massager. We have had this for years and people fight over it in our house. It is the most relaxing thing ever.

Shiatsu Neck Massager Pillow. This is such a good one too – it’s more of a pillow version that doesn’t wrap.

Thymes fraiser fir candle. This smells exactly like the perfect christmas tree.

Couples Split Sheet Set. I’ve joked about Eddie’s sleep habits for years and stealing the covers. This is GENIUS.

Engraved Tape Measure. A bit cliche, but very useful and practical.

Lake topography art. Eddie and I love these. We always see them when we’re on vacation in Michigan.

Mini Power Scrubber. This is most gratifying cleaning tool ever.

Yeti Rambler Mug. A classic favorite that everyone adores.

Microfiber robe. This looks like the softest thing ever. I love the plaid.

Rechargeable Hand Warmers. This is the best idea for someone out in the cold often!

Bluetooth Shower Speaker. Everyone would love one of these.

Slim card case. This super slim case is the best pick this year.

On Cloudnova sneakers. These are my favorite On’s for casual wear! In both men and women’s styles.

Kiehls moisturizer. I love putting skincare in Eddie’s stocking. I do a mix of singles and sets.

Kiehls skincare set. Like this one! The sets are great to try new things and break apart.

Fleur de sel. Just bought this up! Sign me up for an edible gift that everyone can use.

NHL puck coaster set. For the hockey lovers. That’s us.

Acupressure Mat. This is one of the best purchases of 2021 I made. It is so relaxing and really a game changer if you’re stressed out.

Trigger Point Back Rocker. On the same note as the above, this is our next purchase.

Flat cast iron pan. I ordered this pan because it looks so EASY to use. That’s the name of the game here if Eddie is cooking.

Shinola desk calendar. Love this desk calendar. Elevates the desk so much.

Watch roll. This travel watch roll is excellent.

Philips automatic coffee machine. For the coffee and espresso lovers! This is just as good as the super high end ones. I love it.

College football game day bingo. This can be customized to your favorite team. So fun.

Wool & cashmere scarf. Can’t go wrong with a scarf. Again, this print is my fave!

Half zip cashmere sweater.  The nordstrom quarter zip pullovers are amazing quality for the price. Eddie wears these all the time to work.

Self Watering Indoor Garden. This self watering option is so good and you can have herbs all winter long. We love ours!

Carbon Fiber Money Clip. I love how sleek this is.

Shinola Playing Cards. I love this set. So classy!

Yeti Soft Cooler. One of our best purchases ever. We use our yeti cooler a ton.

Star Wars Stance socks. Stance socks are the best. They are so

Checkered throw blanket. Everyone fights over these in our house.

Spice Rub Library. I love getting Eddie one of these every few years. He uses it to make his lunches – whether it’s chicken or vegetables, etc.

Watch box Organizer. I got Eddie one last year and he loved it.

Zoom Mute Button. OBSESSED with this. We all need it.

Ergonomic eye mask. This is on both of our lists this year.

Bocce ball set. A frivolous yet sharp version of a fan favorite!

Magnetic BBQ Lights. I ordered these this year for gifts. They are so versatile and can be used almost everywhere!

Heated neck wrap. Everyone needs one.

BEIS carry on suitcase. I got Eddie a tumi suitcase 10 years ago. We just bought a BEIS for Max, and the quality is incredible.

Convertible laptop bag/backpack. Love that this can be a crossbody or backpack bag!

Bondi 8 running shoes. These are the running shoes Eddie uses on both the treadmill and outdoors.

Ooni Pizza Oven. I got Eddie out first ooni years ago for his birthday. It’s easy to use, clean up, and a fun experience to make pizza together.

Splatter Screen. A MUST for every kitchen!

Reserve Black Greenpan Set. My favorite pans in the coolest black.

Carhart beanie. This is a timeless classic.

Vuori performance joggers. These are so comfortable and soft. I got them for Eddie for his birthday and he loves them.

Ember smart mug. This will forever be something I love. Keeps drinks warm!!

Ugg chukka boot. I have bought these for Eddie twice in the last 15 years or so – they are so comfortable, so warm and I love how they look.

Ugg scuff slipper. And the slippers too! They are the best.

Watch deck display case. Another option for the watch lover. The storage is incredible.

Shark Cordless Handheld Vacuum. This handheld vac is the BEST. We have it and love it.

Grill Mat Set. Everyone raves about these grill mats.

Solostove Bonfire Pit. I got one of these for my Dad. We love it!

Solostove Tabletop Pit. This is awesome for small spaces too.

Wunder Puff vest. The lulu vests are the best ones out there. I love both men and women’s version. So warm, puffy but not gigantic.

Higher Dose PEMF mat. I saved a favorite for last. The higher dose mats are expensive, but we both use this PEMF mat every single day. It is more than worth it for us. A great addition to a gym.

[This is not a sponsored post and any of the above items that I own were purchased by me or gifted by friends/family! There are a few general affiliate links above. Thank you for reading! xo]

A Week In The Life, Vol 48.

I can’t believe we are at the end of the Thanksgiving weekend!

So much to be grateful for this week!

This little nugget. On the nugget.

I made a few batches of chex mix to kick the week off. I knew it would last until Thanksgiving weekend.

And prepped some cookie dough for one of the desserts.

I don’t like hot coffee unless it looks like this.

Thanksgiving break lunch date!

Bubble christening!

These babies.

Max and I baked these late Wednesday night.

My SIL made my chocolate pecan pie bars!

I really struggled with the table this year! We don’t have a dining room in our new house. I was very sad about no dining room all weekend, even though Thanksgiving is literally the only day I ever use it. Even other holidays and birthdays are more casual.

Mashed potatoes post ricing.

Goofballs.

I roasted a turkey and smoked a turkey! Our favorite tradition.

Kids table for the win.

Carbsgiving!

How sweet is my little lovechunk niece! It was so wonderful that my brother got to be here after everything he went through last week.

Max had a Thanksgiving hockey tournament. We had so much fun!!

Emilia got hot chocolate the first night before. I tasted it – wow, starbucks hot chocolate is garbage.

We love hockey!!

She was very thrilled that the kona ice truck was at the tournament all weekend.

Then she promptly dropped the entire thing on the ground.

Max played soooo well all weekend.

MVP puck!

Emilia also had her first voice recital!

People pay for this hair color, right?! It’s so pretty.

She did SO well. It was all christmas songs and so sweet.

Sparkle girl!

And Max made it right in time to see her performance after his last game. She was so happy!

Pretty sure Jordy is working on ear infection #2 of the season. Ugh.

But he’s still a happy little babe.

They love to make funny face pics.

And the sweetest sister about to put him to sleep.

And now… christmas overload!

2023 Gift Guide for Her! Over 50 of My Favorite Gifts.

My 2023 women’s gift guide is here! All my favorite things in one place that I love so much.

gift guide for her

This gift guide is filled with TONS of my favorite things. The bags, shoes, pajamas and year-after-year items I use. You’ve seen and heard of a lot of them throughout 2021 as I’ve shared them in my favorites, but these are the best of the best of what I am loving!

Of course these gifts can be for anyone! These are my personal picks out of everything I have loved over the years.

2023 GIFT GUIDE FOR HER

Silk Pillowcase. This is something I use every single day. I think it’s a great gift! I even travel with mine if I go somewhere.

Magazine tote bag. The colors are so gorgeous – this pink!

Simple Modern 40oz tumbler. I have loved the Stanely tumbler for years, but this one has won out. It’s almost leak proof, so much sleeker, lighter and more economical. I adore it.

Glitter gold heels. My christmas shoes this year.

Mason Grey robe. This robe is life changing. It’s light weight, but still warm and SO soft. I got one right before Jordan was born for the hospital. It’s wonderful and stiff my favorite.

Fluffy Hotel Robe. If you prefer a fluffy hotel-like robe, I’m in love with this one. The tie dye on the edges is so cute without being obnoxious too. The kids have matching ones!

Silicone Bangle Keyring. Can’t live without this. Would lose my keys constantly!

Apothecary jar candle. I love a beautiful candle like this – because the jar can be repurposed.

And cute matches to match! Perfect stocking stuffer.

Chappy Wrap blanket. This was my #1 gift this year. I have gifted this so many times, most recently to my dad. It’s an excellent outdoor blanket.

Rifle paper calendar. This is my wall calendar every year! It’s so beautiful.

Le Specs Air Heart Sunglasses. My go-to sunglasses for over five years. Adore them.

Gold duffle bag. I just bought this as a gift to myself. Merry Christmas!

Bedazzled faux fur earmuffs. Lacy got me these for my birthday and they are SO fun. Also, super comfortable.

Delicate monogram necklace. I adore any delicate necklace.

Monogram heart pendant. But I also like this update to the monogram version!

Pastel CLUE game. We are huge on games over here. I like having a pretty one like this that can be displayed.

Primrose vanity mirror. This stunning version of the viral anthro mirror is perfect for a vanity.

Iridescent puffer mittens. Holographic or rainbow anything will always win out for me.

Wool city coat. Best quality coat for such a wonderful price. This blue is calling my name! I have it in black from years ago.

Barefoot Dreams Throw. This wins for the best gift you can give anyone. I’ve gifted this probably ten times over the last decade. Everyone loves it. These are the softest blankets on earth.

Better Homes & Garden Cozy Knit Throw. This is the closest I’ve found to barefoot dreams for a fraction of the price. It doesn’t feel exactly like it, but it’s so, so cloze and super cozy!

Moonlit Pajamas. This is something else I share every single year. BEST PAJAMAS EVER! So stretchy and soft and comfortable. I live in these. I love every version: the nightgowns, the button down PJs, the v-neck top ones.

Ugg Mini Boot. I will always profess my love for Uggs despite how ugly they can look. They are SO good for cold weather here. I get a new black pair every few years after I wear the heck out of mine. I got the black short ones last year and love them.

Lululemon Align Pants. You cannot go wrong with these. They have been uniform for years. Nothing compares.

MZ Wallace Metro Tote. I have used this tote for years – since Max was born. Going on seven years and it’s the best travel/throw-stuff-in tote.

Giant plaid scarf. An anthro scarf is a must if you live in a cold climate.

Faux leather texting gloves. And so are these gloves! I love that they aren’t bulky at all.

Nixon bracelet watch. My parents got me a nixon watch years ago and it’s still a favorite. I think they are so sharp.

Mildliner Markers. These are my favorite to use in my planner.

Mini Portable Fridge. Use it as a beauty fridge (my fave) or even for mini cans of the drink you love. I love these so much!

Sling Bag. I’ve been team-sling for two years now. The best way to be hands free.

Weighted sleep mask. I gifted this a bunch last year! Excellent for relaxation.

Rhinestone mini bag. This is a copy of many high end designer bags and I adore it. So cute for the holiday season or a fancy occasion.

Hatch Restore. I bought our hatch when I had Jordan. We can’t sleep without this. I also use this as my reading light!

New balance 327s. This was my favorite shoe of 2023. It is so flattering on the foot and just looks super cool. Also very comfortable.

Air Max 270 sneakers. And these would be my next choice. I have multiple colors and love the look of them.

Mini black bag with gold chain. This bag silhouette is such a favorite of mine. It’s so classic and timeless.

Quilted carryall bag. But I am also crushing over this quilted bag in all the amazing colors.

Jewel tone taper candles. Lacy also got me these for my birthday and they make me so happy. Such a great gift!

Lustre coupe glasses. I have a few of these and they are stunning. Always asked about when entertaining.

Tory Burch camera bag. If you want to gift a “good” luxury-ish bag, this is my #1 choice. I love everything Tory Burch and it’s so high quality, plus it looks very classic and will last forever. I want this camera one!

Pave crystal link earrings. I love this delicate earring with a modern twist.

Puffy platform slipper. My #1 slipper choice this year. Everything puffer gets me.

Barefoot dreams socks. My grandma got me socks every year and I love the tradition.

Healthy hair brush. This for a scalp massage is incredible.

Laptop Lap Desk. My parents got me this last a few years ago and I LOVE IT.

Hot and Cold foam froth maker. Makes cold foam! Sign me up!

Olukai Slipper Slides. These are my all-day at home “shoe” slippers. They are extremely supportive and great if you’re on your feet a lot.

Cashmere Scarf Wrap. A timeless classic that you can’t beat.

Bodum Tea For One. I LOVE this idea for quick loose leaf tea.

Portable Cup Warmer. The best priced mug warmer. Always a winner!

Brightland Artist Capsule. Everyone can use olive oil… and this is my favorite.

Roxanne Assoulin Bracelets. Most favorite bracelets ever! Lacy got me into these and they are so gorgeous. I love a stretchy, comfortable bracelet. And you can mix and match so many. Perfect for a color lover.

Canon Mini Photo Printer. Not only do I love this, the kids love it! I print out lots of pictures from my phone, which print on a sticker. You can add the pics to your planner, calendar, cards, etc. I stick pictures of Jordan in the kids’ backpack!

Scout Tote Bag. Everyone, seriously everyone, needs a scout bag. They fold flat and take up no space. They have a zipper and hold SO much. You can transport anything in them. They are waterproof! Absolutely perfect. I love these for teacher gifts with a gift card.

Windproof Umbrella. This is on my wishlist this year. I never have an umbrella.

My 2023 Holiday Baking List!

This is my favorite christmas cookie list! Here is everything I’m baking in 2023. These christmas cookie recipes are the ones that are tried and true! Lots of old favorites with a few new cookies sprinkled in, along with a few other holiday snacks.

It’s the best time of year! My holiday baking list is here!

2023 christmas cookie list

This is such a huge tradition for me that started with my grandma. I can’t wait to hear what you’re baking this holiday season. It’s the only time I actually enjoy baking!

2023 christmas cookie list

For years, Lacy and I would make some things together. Every year, we’d make a buche de noel together. We usually do this at like 11 at night and it takes us way longer than we expect, haha. This bon appetit one is the best. We also ALWAYS make Tracy’s citrus peels and amaretto – I can’t pass those up. If I do the amaretto on my own, I will gift most of it to friends! Seriously we have made these things since the year Tracy posted them, so… a really long time. It’s so fun.

Finally, we also make my version of whiskey pretzels! Everyone really loves these too. They are a fun snack to gift people. I also like to make a batch of my caramel chipotle chex mix and gift that too.

2023 christmas cookie list

Finally, here is my favorite holiday baking playlist! If you follow me on spotify (at howsweeteats), you can see all of my other holiday playlists too.

2023 christmas cookie list

MY 2023 HOLIDAY BAKING LIST

Below is my ideal list of what I’d love to make!

These chewy sprinkle cookies from last year. LOVE them.

Always: the chocolate crinkle sprinkle cookies in The Pretty Dish. They are unbeatable!

Royal cookies. A newish one from three years ago – we adore these.

These frosted cranberry drop cookies were a hit last year.

Also, my cashew butter buckeyes! and maybe regular buckeyes? Sometimes I love them, sometimes I’m over them.

My peanut butter blossoms for sure. Definitely my all time favorite and a cookie I just can’t get enough of. The kids’ fave too.

And these lemon crinkle cookies, Everyone freaks over them.

My soft snickerdoodles and these chewy chai snickerdoodles. I can’t ever choose between them!

These soft gingersnaps. Sometimes I make this recipe times four. We LOVE them. And I’m not a gingersnap person!

Of course these definitely these old school oreo balls .

I’m really feeling these bourbon cherry soaked oatmeal cookies this year. Love them.

And mother lovett’s pink and green thumbprints. because can’t have christmas without them – my mom and aunt’s faves.

Also –  mother lovett’s orange cookies. huge hit all the time.

These peanut butter m&m cookie bars – made with red and green m&ms.

Peanut butter fudge. I google a recipe and use a different one every year, even though Mother Lovett had one.

And some peanut butter stuffed chocolate pretzel bark!

Finally, these perfect cut out sugar cookies. these are the BEST foolproof, simple sugar cookies. I use either cream cheese frosting or this dip icing technique (marbled or not!). For the ones above in the photos, I actually sprayed them with edible glitter.

I will probably also make some peppermint bark. And I love to do chocolate covered oreos! They are so easy. I also buy the white fudge covered oreos as a hack and drizzle them with dark chocolate and sprinkles!

2023 christmas cookie list

HOW I MAKE MY COOKIE BOX

Every year I make similar boxes. Mother Lovett did this for as long as I could remember. Her cookie tins and boxes were her hostess gifts – and they were also what she would give to certain friends and family at the holidays. EVERYONE looked forward to them!

I’ve loved keeping this tradition alive. She used cookie tins – I have found some successfully at places like Target, The Container Store and the Dollar Store. My personal favorite way to give a BIG box is to use these sugar paper gift boxes that I find at Target. They have both rectangle and round boxes. I’ve used these for the last six years and I make my own box. I usually cut up some pieces of another box to make the spaces for the cookies. This is what I did above!

I have to note that I do NOT mail these, so unfortunately I don’t have a ton of tips there! I only deliver these to friends and family who live within driving distance. If I were to mail them, I think it would include a lot of bubble wrap. However, most personal homemade cookie boxes I’ve been mailed in the past? The cookies have always been broken.

20 Recipes To Make With Your Thanksgiving Leftovers!

My favorite recipes for thanksgiving leftovers, including soups and salads, but also mashed potato waffles, breakfast hash and coffee cake. Use up all those delish thanksgiving leftovers!

I love the Thanksgiving meal but I get just as excited leftovers!

My family enjoys that traditional Thanksgiving leftovers the day after the big meal. It’s actually one of my favorite traditions of the weekend because it’s super laid back and casual. At some point on Friday, whether it’s lunch or dinner, everyone will reconvene and enjoy some form of heated up leftovers. But it’s only for that day.

Because while we absolutely LOVE leftovers, we only really love them for a day or two. We tend to have enough to make super delicious meals for the rest of the weekend after Thanksgiving, so I’m sharing some of my favorites below! We have breakfasts, brunch, lunches, dinner and even dessert. Think coffee cake! Mashed potato waffles. Soups, salads and sandwiches.

Of course, anything that is traditional made with shredded chicken can be made with turkey! Easy as that.

2023 Kids Gift Guide! A Ton of My Kids’ Favorite Gifts.

Sharing my 2023 kids gift guide! All our favorite things for babies and kids, trusted toys and gifts that we love the most!

I say it every year, but this might be my favorite year of the kid’s gift guide yet!

Now that I have an 8 year old, a 6 year and a 2 year old, I feel confident in what my kids LOVE and enjoy playing with the most. This list hasn’t changed a lot this year – in fact, many things stay on it as Emilia moves into playing with some of Max’s things and Jordan moves into Emilia’s. One thing I left off the list because it’s so extensive: LEGOS! Max and Emilia are absolutely obsessed with Legos and build constantly.

And as usual, you can find a few kids favorites in each of my monthly favorites posts.

You can see some of our other favorites here: preschool favestoddler faveschildren’s books, and more! I’d love to hear below what you would include on this list too!

2023 KIDS GIFT GUIDE

Lovevery playkit subscription. I started this for Jordan when he was born and we have adored it. These are the most played with toys in our house.

1000 Things to Eat. Another book we LOVE is this 1000 Things to Eat. We have all the versions of this too. Max especially loves this one right now.

Fat Brain Tobbles. Another gift I love to give. Super fun to play with.

Duplo Bath Toys. I got these for Jordan this year and am so excited!

Color Changing Raincoats. My kids got these as gifts last year and they are just amazing. So super fun! We have the umbrellas and boots too. They are such a great gift.

The Nugget Play Couch. We have two nuggets and they are EVERYTHING. The kids play with them for hours.

Doona Liki Trike. The Doona car seat was by far the best purchase I made with Jordan. Last year he got the trike and it’s awesome!

My Big Wilmmelbooks. We love books in this house, but these are the ones my kids can get stuck in for a good while. It’s almost like a where’s waldo, but with scenes. We have every version, we always travel with them on road trips and they are really fun!

Construction Plate and Utensils. We love these plates! Max is a little too old for them now but Emilia has days where she loves them (especially the utensils) – and these are SO fun for young eaters that I had to include them again. We love these.

Car Road Tape. This is a repeat from last year because it’s a life saver. On a rough day, I pull this tape out and place it all over the house. The kids instantly have a road/race track/etc and LOVE it.

Type Set Co Boards & Letters. The kids got these for Christmas last year. The letters are SO pretty!

Yeti In My Spaghetti. One of our favorite board games.

Tuesday Things.

tuesday things

1. Roly poly santa cookies. The cutest.

2. Tell me what books are on your holiday reading list!

3. Going to try this 100 year old productivity hack.

4. It should come as no surprise that I drank the Taylor/Travis koolaid instantly. It’s like watching your favorite romance novel play out in real life.

5. See how their kiss makes me feel 13 again.

6. TV things!! I am still loving Lessons in Chemistry so much. I watched Best Christmas Ever on netflix and it was just… meh.

7. I found the cutest holographic holiday trees at the Target dollar spot. I couldn’t believe it.

8. How to simplify this holiday season.

9. I’d love to follow the above but… I’m totally a christmas maximalist.
