My 2024 Sephora VIB Sale Favorites!

2024 vib sale favorites

Oh it’s the most wonderful time of year!

The annual sephora fall VIB sale starts today and I could not be more excited to share all my favorite things. These are all recommendations – things I have and personally love.

I do include my beauty picks in my favorites every month if you’re searching! But… mostly because once 2020 hit, I just wasn’t wearing makeup as much and in the last fives years or so, I’ve made a serious switch to skincare over makeup. So many of you have told me this as you’ve gotten older and I can totally relate. I have been getting back into makeup a lot in the last few months. Probably because Jordan is finally more independent. I still love makeup and beauty products, but skincare definitely comes first for me at the moment.

I’m sharing a few items that I have in my cart that are new to me. EVERYTHING else below is something I use and love (or have used and loved) – these are all my personal recommendations. I ramble about them too. They probably come as no surprise considering I’ve talked about almost everything before, but here we are! I’d love to hear what you love so I can build out my wishlist!

I like to get the big items like dyson hair tools at this sale. Also, good skincare (Bader!), value size shampoo and sunscreen. I also love it to buy perfume during the sale, because you can rarely find that on sale (if ever!) – especially Tom Ford, Jo Malone, Killian, etc. All those good ones that are so expensive and never go on sale. None of this is sponsored, I just loooove talking beauty products with you.

SKINCARE

Augustinus Bader The Rich Cream . I never stopped using my rich cream – at the height of the PD, I just used it as an eye cream! I LOVE how this works under makeup, both on my face and under the eyes. I will never be without this product. Yes, it is insanely expensive but if you do some research on it, it is a great product. If you’ve wanted to try, now is the time. It is rarely on sale for more than this.

Tower 28 SOS spray. Can’t live without this either – a very soothing spray that has so many uses.

Luna Sleeping Oil. I have loved this retinol for years. I’ve used it off and on (when not pregnant and breastfeeding!) but am now back on it and LOVE. I use it three days a week.

Supergoop Value Size Sunscreen. I buy this every summer and it’s incredible. We keep it in the garage or right by the door so we always have sunscreen on hand. It lasts all summer and into fall.

Supergoop Glow screen . I still love this sunscreen. I use it both on non-makeup days and under light makeup. It evens out my complexion so much and the glow is incredible. If you don’t like a glow, do NOT get this. Only thing is that if I get it REMOTELY close to my eyes, it migrates into them.

Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen . I love this equally as much as the above, it’s just a different product. The formula of this is incredible. It’s almost like a primer and it’s great under makeup. This is a matte look – so nothing like the glowy one above.

Tan Luxe The Butter. I’ve repurchased this so many times – it blends incredibly and is such a nice self tanning cream to use. It is a gradual tanner and doesn’t transfer to clothes once dry. The smell isn’t terrible either.

Sol De Janiero Bum Bum Cream. My favorite forever, this scent is one that will immediately transport me back to pre-2020 days with so much happiness. I use this constantly and it is a wonderful moisturizing product.

Sol De Janiero Bom Dia Bright Cream. This is also such a great scent. I love how delish my bathroom smells after using this.

Dr Dennis Gross Facial Steamer. I bought this last year and it has changed my life! Facials at home!! It’s wonderful. Would make a great gift (for yourself?! Ha).

Dr. Dennis Gross Daily Peel Pads. I haven’t stopped raving about these since I bought them and they really changed the texture of my skin.

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream. I love this cream for all over the body – everyone in our family uses this. It’s also fragrance free. It’s mild and great for eczema.

Fresh Sugar Advanced Therapy Lip balm. Definitely my holy grail lip balm. It’s pricey and not one I keep in my purse (because they always go missing!), but it’s amazing for dry lips.

Laneige Lip Glowy Balm. I love every single scent and have one in every bag. Live for these.

Summer Fridays Lip Butter balm. Another excellent balm! The flavors are great.

Kate Mcleod body brush. I use this before every shower. It’s so comfortable to hold.

MAKEUP

Beauty Blender. I am never without a beauty blender for foundation/bb cream/concealer/etc.

Iconic London Underglow Blurring Primer. I don’t like primers but LOVE this. It just evens out the skin and smooths it – I use it on its own or mix with a tinter moisturizer or foundation.

Iconic London Blurring Skin Tint. Also love this!! I’ve been mixing it with the above. Still light coverage, but very natural and nice.

Ilia Super Serum Skin Tint. I still don’t like heavy foundation on my skin, and this is my current fave if I want a little more coverage. I’ve used this for two years and love how much it evens out my skintone. I’d say it’s light to medium coverage.

bareMinerals Complexion Rescue. If you like really light coverage, this is still my absolute favorite. I’ve used it forever.

Too Faced Born This Way Concealer. My favorite concealer under my eyes. It is so perfect and not too drying.

Iconic London Liquid Highlight. Adore this highlight for mixing with foundation or moisturizer. It’s very liquidy and it’s pretty golden (almost too golden for me!) but it is wonderful for mixing. I use this almost everyday.

Westman Atelier Contour Stick. My favorite contour stick of all time. I use the shade biscuit. I’m on my second one and it is a great formula.

Rare Beauty Silky Touch Highlighter. This is such a gorgeous highlighter and creamy formula. It’a almost always sold out too. If you see it, grab it!

Rare Beauty Blush. Best blush ever, with a little highlight built in. The formula is wonderful.

Gucci Blush. This is also an incredible blush that is totally matte. I usually put it on first, then the rare beauty one.

Fenty Instant Warmth Bronzer. I love this bronzer – it’s so natural, not orange – it’s perfect.

Makeup By Mario Moonlight Palette. Current favorite eye palette. It’s so pretty.

Westman Atelier Super Loaded Tinted Highlight. I have all 3 of these and love them. Rose is in the photos you see. The peau de peche is more warm. The soleil is bronzy. I love them all for different makeup looks and different times of year.

Westman Atelier Baby Cheeks. This is the only blush I’ve used for over a year! My favorite shades are poppet and minette.

Hourglass Unlocked Mascara. I hate buying expensive mascara but omg this is WORTH IT. It’s a tubing mascara and does not flake or smudge, plus gives excellent length.

Benefit Gimme Brow. The ONLY thing I use on my brows. It’s so natural. Nothing compares to the tiny brush.

Kaja Wink Stamp Liner. If you like to do a cat eye but always mess it is, THIS IS FOR YOU! You just stamp on the cat eye. It’s awesome.

Nars Pro Prime Smudgeproof Base. This is my favorite for eyeshadow base. Have used it forever.

Shesheido Microliner Eyeliner. I just bought this last month and am STUNNED at how great it is. So easy to use and almost like liquid liner, but not.

Makeup by Mario Moistureglow Lip. Obsessed with this. It is SO moisturizing and love the colors. Like a balm with a lot of color!

Sephora Pro Foundation Brush. This is the brush that I use for my westman atelier products. I love how it blends! It’s super soft and I find it to be a great brush for the price.

One/Size Setting Spray. Best setting spray ever. Nothing moves!

HAIR

Dyson Hair Dryer. Eddie got this for me for Christmas last year. It is life changing. I would only ever buy it if it is on sale, and if you have a lot of hair. It adds so mcu volume and body!

Dyson Air Wrap. Another thing I didn’t think I’d ever buy, but last year I did. It is AMAZING! This can definitely be a one stop shop for your hair. If I could only take one hair tool with me to a deserted island, it would be this. It’s so pricey and rarely ever on sale!

Bumble and Bumble Invisible Oil Shampoo. Favorite shampoo ever! Get the value size if you can.

Bumble and Bumble Invisible Oil Conditioner. Same as the above. The scent is so good too.

Moroccan Oil Root Boost. I love this for some volume when styling. I use on wet hair before drying.

Living Proof  Restore Perfecting Spray. My favorite leave in condition. Doesn’t weigh down my hair at all.

Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray. This is my favorite spray to use on dry hair. Adds texture and volume but isn’t sticky.

Sol de Janiero Leave In Conditioner. Again, the best scent.

T3 Whirl Trio. I bought this at a VIB sale a few years ago and still use it weekly. It is an amazing high-quality set that took me a long time to buy (so pricey!) but I use it SO much. And I love that it comes with three sizes of the wand.

FRAGRANCE

I am a warm fragrance person. I love all things vanilla, amber, mush, a very very light hint of floral – those are the scents I gravitate towards. These are a few of my all-time faves that I highly recommenced. Fragrance never goes on sale so this is the perfect time to try. I also always try travel sizes first when possible before buying a big bottle.

Jo Malone Ginger Biscuit. This is limited edition and only comes out every few years. It’s SO GOOD. Smells for warm and fabulous for fall!

Afternoon Delight. This has been my go-to scent for the last for months. It smells absolutely incredible.

Glossier You. This has been one of my favorites for YEARS. It’s delicious.

Carolina Herrara Good Girl. As a note, I hate this bottle. It kept me from buying it for years. But this is basically the best scent ever.

Tom Ford Soleil Blanc. My go to summer scent. A light coconutty but warm fragrance.

Tom Ford Lost Cherry Warm and delicious with a hint of red cherry. It’s so good.

Kilian Paris Love Don’t Be Shy. This is kind of marshmallowy and sweet but also light with light floral. It’s delicious.

Jo Malone Mimosa and Cardamom. A longtime favorite of mine. Warm and floraly.

[as usual, none of this is sponsored and all of these products were purchased by me. i am not affiliated with any of the companies above, nor do i accept free products. just love to talk about what i like, makeup junkie to makeup junkie. there are some amazon and general reward style affiliate links above. thank you for being here!]

October Favorites.

october favorites

A peek at everything I loved in October 2024!

FOOD

Snak Club tajin fiesta snack mix. This is my current snack obsession. I first found it at homegoods. Then immediately went on and ordered it on amazon. I love it. It’s not too spicy and just tastes so darn good. The crunchy peanuts are everything.

Good & Gather mini peanut butter pretzels. This is another snack I adore. We’ve been eating these for months, and since having kids, peanut butter filled pretzels are one of my go-to things to grab. I love that these are mini!! And that they are in snack packs. Easily transportable!

Ellenos pumpkin pie yogurt. I was SOOOO excited to find this. I’ve seen others rave about it in previous years. It is just as good as I thought. It’s definitely more of a dessert yogurt. But it’s the perfect fall treat/dessert right now. And so satisfying! The yogurt is so thick and creamy.

HOME

Lola blankets. The hype is real, this blanket is amazing. I have tried many faux fur blankets and this one is the best. We all fight over it! It’s going to be my christmas gift for my family this year. It’s a dream.

Swell salad bowl container. This salad bowl is a dreamy, especially if you want to pack a lunch for work. I don’t have to leave the house, but I still use this in my fridge to prep or store leftover salad (with a paper towel on the bottom). It’s great to eat right out of the bowl. And bonus: it can all go in the dishwasher. If something can’t go in the dishwasher? Well… yes it can. According to me.

Tineco vacuum mop. I have mentioned this so many times but oh my gosh do I LOVE it. I have two now in different parts of the house and I can’t even explain how effective and wonderful this is. It cleans my floors like nothing else. It is SO worth it. Over 30K reviews don’t lie! Also such a great gift.

BEAUTY

Victoria Beckham eyeliner. This reminds me of urban decay liners, but better. The colors are so good. I now have 5. It stays on forever too.

Rhode blush in piggy. I’ve been loving this blush for months. The color is wonderful. The lipgloss is good too but it doesn’t have any pigment. The blush is fab though.

Wonderskin lip stick in bella. This color is my new favorite thing. I have never loved lip stains because they always come off red and pink. This one is more mauve and cool toned. I will use it in the morning and put gloss over it all day.

Makeup by Mario moonlight palette. This was a recent purchase and it is SO good. It’s so cool toned, which I need. Every color is perfect.

Isdin body lotion. I’ve used this as an after-shower lotion for a year now. I love that it has a pump, a barely-there pleasant smell and really soaks in.

FASHION

Spanx air essentials jumpsuit in truffle. BEST EVER. I have two other air essentials jumpsuits and was so excited to see this one in my favorite chocolate brown color. It is so pretty and I love that it has the v-neck zipper. I’m going to wear this on thanksgiving.

Steve Madden leopard print sneakers. I’ve always loved leopard print everything so I’m thrilled this year. Just about died over these sneakers. They have the flattering shape like new balance 327s and are very comfortable.

Vince Camuto samara mule. I also am into everything sherpa, faux fur, etc for the season. These are SO fun. They are super fluffy and furry. I will probably live in them.

Athleta stellar trench. This fabric is INCREDIBLE. This trench is slightly heavier than ones I’m used to – think lululemon fabric in a trench. It doesn’t wrinkle, it lays so nicely and just looks so good over everything. Even hoodies.

MEDIA

Nobody Wants This. Can’t even express how much I loved it! I want to watch it over and over!

Be Ready When The Luck Happens. Such a fun read for the month. I listened to it since Ina narrates. I love it.

KIDS

Taylor Swift sticker mosaic book. Emilia loves T Swift so this was a must! She adores the sticker puzzles too – no brainer.

Palm pals. I mentioned this around christmas but they are just so cute and fun. I got the kids pumpkins and they love them.

Da bomb bath fizzers. Emilia has loved these for years, but now Jordan is really into the hot wheels ones for a special bath. They are so cute.

[none of this is sponsored, i just love to tell you what i love every month! there are a few general affiliate links above! xo]

Pumpkin Bread with Chai Crumble.

Our favorite pumpkin bread! It’s tender and perfect with a crunchy chai spiced streusel on top. A cross between quick bread and cake, it’s the best treat for fall. Have it for breakfast or dessert!

This is the best pumpkin bread I have ever made.

pumpkin bread with chai crumble

And that is a bold claim! This pumpkin bread is super tender with a fluffy crumb and a crunchy chai streusel on top.

There is no better way to end October than to bake a loaf of it today!

pumpkin bread with chai crumble

We LOVE pumpkin bread here. Actually, we love pumpkin muffins. Max especially adores my pumpkin muffins. He asks for them almost weekly and I alway make some for his hockey tournament weekends. I guess you could say we are just big pumpkin baked goods people.

pumpkin bread with chai crumble

It’s funny, because if you’ve been following for years then you will remember the days when Eddie hated pumpkin. Or at least thought that he hated pumpkin. Then I brought him over to the dark side. First, with savory pumpkin recipes. Because they taste just like butternut squash.

Then, with said pumpkin muffins. Before everyone adores them.

pumpkin bread with chai crumble

And finally, with my pumpkin dream cake. I will never forget the Thanksgiving when, after everyone left, he stood over the pumpkin dream cake and just ate it with a fork!!

My mind was blown.

Anyway, that’s a long winded way of saying that we flip over this pumpkin bread and you probably will too.

pumpkin bread with chai crumble

The pumpkin bread is mostly pumpkin with a pinch of chai. But the majority of the chai spice is in the crumble topping, which I find perfect. There’s enough spice and flavor up there while the bread remains almost neutral, less spicy. That is the key for my kids.

While they do like the chai flavor, they don’t want it to be overwhelming.

pumpkin bread with chai crumble

And don’t freak at the ingredient list – it’s not bad!

This pumpkin bread is rather simple. However, the chai seasoning does require a few spices. I suggest making a container of it and storing it in your spice drawer. Then you can grab it whenever you want to make something taste like a big chai latte.

pumpkin bread with chai crumble

Like my traditional pumpkin bread (and dream cake!), this bread uses plain greek yogurt. You can also swap in sour cream. The texture is so moist and tender and the bread is phenomenal. I have to say that it’s a billion times better than the Starbucks pumpkin bread, just FYI.

pumpkin bread with chai crumble

My recipe for chai spice below will make more than is needed for just this recipe. If you’re looking for other chai-inspired recipes, I have a bunch!

Try some of these:

Pumpkin Chai Crinkle Cookies

Chewy Chai Snickerdoodles

Pumpkin Chai Crumble Muffins

Pumpkin Coffee Cake with Chai Ice Cream

I mean, look at that crumb?! (more…)

Tuesday Things.

tuesday things

1. I want to make matilda’s chocolate cake.

2. Halloween candy choice forever: snickers.

3. Speaking of, really proud that I haven’t broken into the candy this year. On another note, I also just bought it…

4. I want to make a christmas tree out of books this year.

5. Craft a life with few choices. Decision fatigue is real and I do a lot to try and remove choices!

6. It’s simmer pot season! Apples, cranberries, oranges, cinnamon sticks, star anise, etc – throw in a big pot of water and simmer on the stove. Best ever.

7. TV things! I finished Shrinking, watched Woman of the Hour, about to start Love Is Blind. Guilty pleasure.

8. What’s for lunch? Head to the comments for all the ideas.

9. I can’t handle the daily 40 to 50 degree temp swings. How is it still almost 80 here? I am annoyed.

Chickpea Crunch Salad with Peanut Dressing.

This chickpea crunch salad is super satisfying and a texture lovers’ dream. Cabbage, red peppers, carrots, green onions, chickpeas and cilantro are tossed in a peanut lime dressing. It’s delicious and so crunchy!

I live for a crunchy salad.

chickpea crunch salad with peanut dressing

Give me all the texture and crunch. As long as I have that, I’ll eat just about anything in a salad. This chickpea crunch salad is made with shredded cabbage, red peppers, carrots and green onions, topped with a fabulous peanut lime dressing and lots of crushed peanuts.

It’s freaking GOOD.

chickpea crunch salad with peanut dressing

I’ve made many crunch salads in my day and this is one of the best. It is so fresh and a little bit tangy. It’s also incredibly satisfying thanks to the peanuts.

If you’re anything like me, then you forget just how wonderful peanut dressing is until you have it. I could eat that with a spoon.

chickpea crunch salad with peanut dressing

This is how I make it!

I finally slice a head (or half) of cabbage. That’s our super crunchy base.

Next, I add in some grated carrots, thinly sliced red peppers, green onions and cilantro. I love this combo.

Chickpeas! I use chickpeas from the can that have been drained and rinsed. You can use roasted chickpeas too, but they don’t stay as crunchy since they are tossed with veggies and dressing.

A bunch of coarsely chopped crunchy peanuts go in next.

chickpea crunch salad with peanut dressing

Then it’s time for the dressing! I love using my nutribullet to make this. I use that thing so darn much – it’s one of my favorite appliances for dressings and sauces.

The dressing consists of peanut butter, lime juice, rice vinegar, soy sauce, toasted sesame oil, garlic, ginger and a little bit of honey. Blend it up!

Pour the dressing over and toss. The consistency is a dream.

chickpea crunch salad with peanut dressing

This makes such an incredible salad. I love to eat it as a main dish, serve it as a side dish or even use it as a base for grilled chicken, shrimp or more. The options are endless.

chickpea crunch salad with peanut dressing

It’s one of my favorite lunch salads because it’s so easy and I can prep it ahead of time. It stays good in the fridge with the dressing, but I like to be a little more crunchy. So I will make the dressing and combine all the salad ingredients and store both in the fridge. Right before eating for lunch, I’ll toss in some dressing.

chickpea crunch salad with peanut dressing

This salad, served with some rice crackers on the side, is such an amazing lunch. It tastes fancy and special, but it’s simple too. We usually eat these flavors in a warm dish and/or with noodles, so the switch to a crisp salad is so refreshing.

Flavor bomb right here!

My mind is blown that it’s the end of October.

Look at those trees behind our house!!! The color!

Favorite hobby. The vacuum.

Jiggly sourdough pizza dough.

Top of the world!

This one is such a climber.

The correct ration of pumpkin cream on the cold brew.

Turned out to be a beautiful night.

OG bffs.

Oh a hayride. I am not an outdoor cat.

Sunset chase.

Through the corn maze!

Biggest cotton candy I’ve ever seen?!

Super Jordan.

Little morning field trip.

The crust!

I’m sorry I can’t stop with the trees. They are wild this year.

Flag football fun.

School drop off…

This day was dress as your favorite sports figure.

Her skirt though!

Jordy and I went to the mall.

Okay I think that’s the last one.

Cuddles in bed watching Encanto…

Morning out the kitchen window.

Max’s game.

And goal celebration!

Trying out the glitter freckles a few days early.

Went to disney on ice! Which was all Encanto + Frozen.

Soooo excited.

It was a hit.

Hearts.

Hockey cutie.

I can’t believe we get to see this everyday right outside our windows.

Their eyes kill me.

And we’re off into a new week!

Can’t handle how much I adore them!

Our Favorite Cheeseburger Soup.

This is our favorite cheeseburger soup recipe! Ground beef, carrots, celery, potatoes and more, plus cheddar and herbs – oh my. It’s cozy, comforting and the perfect chilly night dinner!

Want to make the best soup this weekend?!

our favorite cheeseburger soup

This cheeseburger soup is loaded with carrots, potatoes and ground beef, lots of melty cheese and tastes just like the name suggests – a delish burger!

We make this dish constantly and everyone goes wild. It’s a surprising favorite in our house.

No one is more surprised than me!

our favorite cheeseburger soup

This is one of those recipes that I heard about for years and it never sounded appealing to me. And then, one day, it did.

This sort of thing happens to me ALL THE TIME, which is why I like to keep all my (pen and paper) recipe lists and logs going back 15 years. Something that didn’t sound so great seven years ago? I now love.

And so on.

Anyway! I started making it a few years ago. Here’s the thing: I have tried to photograph this for you for YEARS so I could share my version of the recipe. And every time, I dislike the photos so much.

This is not an attractive recipe. It never looks super delicious.

In fact, I don’t even LOVE these photos. But this is as good as its going to get, because we make this all the time.

In the cooler months, I often make this every other week. We all ADORE it. It has a little something for everyone and it is such a cozy dish.

If you enjoy potato soup, you’ll probably love this. If you like chili or taco soups, you’ll also probably love this! It is chock-full of so many of my kids favorite things. They especially love carrots, so I double up on those in this soup. They even love celery!

One reason I hesitated with this soup? THE DISHES.

There are a good amount of dishes and cutting boards with this recipe. I manage to keep it in two pots – one soup pot and a skillet. But it also takes a lot of dicing, chopping and mixing.

Once you’ve made it a few times, it barely matters. It’s made with easy ingredients – familiar ones, in fact. I highly suggest chopping everything and measuring everything out ahead of time. It will make the process so much smoother.

This is what goes into our soup!

Lean ground beef or turkey. I brown it first and then use the same pot for the soup, so the layers of flavor just keep building and building.

A mix of diced onions, celery and grated carrots. I love to use large carrots and grate them myself. The texture is so good once they cook in the soup.

Petite golden potatoes! I don’t even bother peeling them. I quarter them and toss them directly into the soup.

Chicken stock. Make it a good, rich, golden chicken stock.  (more…)
