My 2024 Thanksgiving Kitchen Essentials! Everything You Need To Prepare For The Holiday.
Welcome to my 2024 thanksgiving kitchen essentials guide! This includes everything you need to make the holiday come together easily without stress. Includes favorite recipes, my go-to products that I have an use and more!
I am so, so excited to bring you my annual HowSweetEats Thanksgiving series this week! Along with alllll the Thanksgiving kitchen essentials.
Because I LOVE celebrating this holiday! Over the next week I’ll be sharing a bunch of new recipes with you, but in the meantime, let’s get prepared.
These are things that I use to make the big meal happen. I LOVE cooking Thanksgiving. It’s actually enjoyable for me, because it’s familiar recipes (no testing, no photography, nothing!) and brings such nostalgic vibes to the day. Since cooking is my job, the meal also comes easy to me, so I can tell you EXACTLY what you need in your kitchen. I’ve tried every kitchen gadget alive. There are what I recommend.
I highly suggest getting these things NOW (like, today) so you have them in time and aren’t scrambling a day before or even the day of, when life is rushed and items are sold out. As I made this list, I went through and actually bought the items I had to repurchase for the holiday. In the next week or so I’ll share my Thanksgiving timeline, and I honestly use the entire week to prep, which makes it super easy. Not all day, every day, but I do certain things every single day to make the actual holiday stress-free and much simpler. Many of these tools below help!
Also, my huge Thanksgiving recipe guide is right here, but I wanted to list a few traditional favorites below that I always make. These are the absolute BEST if you’re looking to add a classic to your list.
Turkey Stock (I make this every year for gravy. It is a GAME CHANGER.)
Butter and White Wine Drenched Turkey
Grilled Turkey (we grill or smoke a second turkey, always)
How Sweet Eats Mashed Potatoes
Vanilla Bourbon Cranberry Sauce
Pumpkin Dream Cupcakes with Espresso Frosting
While practically EVERYTHING gets used in my kitchen on Thanksgiving (and the week prior!), these are the ones that I can’t live without. The meal has to happen with these things! The below are all the items that I use in my kitchen – so they are personally tested by me! (more…)

Thanksgiving Chicken and Stuffing Bake with Easy Gravy.
This thanksgiving chicken and stuffing bake is the perfect solution for Thanksgiving when you don’t have the time or need to cook a large turkey. Served with my perfect gravy, it tastes so delicious and comes together quickly and easily!
How are we here already?!
It’s HowSweetEats Thanksgiving week and I’m here to share with you the most delicious, new and exciting recipes for our favorite holiday.
That’s right! This is totally my favorite holiday. It is like my super bowl, for real.
This chicken and stuffing bake is extra special because it really can be made any time of year. If you’re ever craving those traditional Thanksgiving smells and tastes, make this! Chicken thighs are browned and placed in a baking dish of my famous stuffing, then baked until done. Drizzle everything with gravy and it.is.fantastic.
It’s safe to say that I am fully obsessed with this dish. I love making a traditional turkey – I even roast one and smoke one for Thanksgiving – but sometimes we just don’t NEED a giant turkey.
And let’s be real: I’m here for the side dishes on Thanksgiving. When it comes to a plate full of goodness, between the stuffing and mashed potatoes and corn and everything – I can’t even tell the difference between chicken and turkey. In fact, I’d probably prefer chicken.
So that’s where my chicken and stuffing bake comes in. It’s easy. It doesn’t take forever to prepare or roast. And it makes a manageable amount of food with just a little bit of extra stuffing. Because stuffing is what makes the Thanksgiving meal. I wait all year for it.
Now, we no longer have to wait all year. You can make this dish in spring or summer if you wish! It’s cute and compact in a little baking dish and it makes everyone so happy.
Another reason I wanted to share this recipe is because I already have the best traditional turkey recipes that I could ever want. This classic butter herb roasted turkey is absolutely fantastic. I make it every year, no matter what.
I also have a very easy roasted turkey breast recipe too – if you want something scaled down, but not as scaled down as this chicken and stuffing.
For the rest of the week you’ll find the other dishes to go with this meal! From scalloped corn to sourdough biscuits to sweet potatoes and more. I can’t wait! In the meantime, you can find a lot of my Thanksgiving essentials here, along with all of previous years’ recipes here! (more…)

2024 Gift Guide: Under $25 & Best Stocking Stuffers!
My under $25 gift guide is full of everything I love the most! Quick and easy gifts for stockings, friends and family, work parties, favorite things parties and more. It’s my favorite gift guide out of them all!
I love making gift guides and this is crazy – it’s my 14th year making them. This is always my favorite gift guide to make. It’s easily the price range where I find myself buying the most gifts – whether it’s for a grab bag family gift (we pick names in a few instances in our family and it’s GREAT – highly suggest doing this if you haven’t yet.), a stocking stuffer, a teacher gift, a work gift, etc. And I have SO MANY IDEAS for you here.
Most of the things you’ll find in my gifts guides won’t be a huge surprise – I’ve talked about most of them throughout the years in my monthly favorites posts. There are repeats from years past, because I want to make sure I’m recommending something I have, use, gifted and/or love. However, I’ve scoured the internet and lots of my favorite places to curate a guide of things I really, truly love, and plan on gifting. This is my favorite list!
As usual, I’m sharing gift guides in addition to my regular content, so if these aren’t of interest to you, there will still be new recipes and/or Crumbs content every day!

Cheeseburger Puff Pastry Pizza.
We adore this cheeseburger puff pastry pizza! A super flaky, buttery crust is topped with all the cheeseburger flavors. Easy and comes together so fast!
Pizza friday!
This cheeseburger puff pastry pizza is fantastic. Browned ground beef, my classic house sauce, sharp cheddar, pickles, lettuce, tomato and more. Not to mention a super crisp crust.
We adore this.
It’s the second week in a row I’m sharing a cheeseburger-y recipe with you! Last week we talked about cheeseburger soup (oh the BEST) and today, we’re talking pizza.
My oh my.
My favorite thing on earth.
See, I have a weird obsession with cheeseburger flavored things that aren’t actual cheeseburgers. I just think it’s such a delicious combo of flavors and is (most importantly!) kid-approved.
And me-approved. Guess I’m a kid!
The reason this is so fabulous is because of one thing: you mix ketchup AND mustard in with the ground beef.
Yes yes yes.I’ve done this for years and I’ve told you about it for years. It makes things taste very much like a burger, without tasting like either ketchup or mustard. It’s the key when making cheeseburger-inspired recipes.
The other deal? Puff pastry pizzas are one of my THINGS. They are so easy and especially perfect for a weeknight. The crust reminds me of one of our favorite local pizzas – flakey and delicate but can still hold just the right amount of toppings.
In Everyday Dinners, I have multiple puff pastry pizzas! And here on the blog, I’ve shared tons of recipes too – like this hot honey pickle puff pastry pizza.
