Isabella Bradford Guest Post: Where Do I Get My Ideas?

In the second of what I hope will be a continuing series of guest posts, my friend/blogging partner/fellow historical romance author, Isabella Bradford, talks about the inspiration for her latest release, A Sinful Deception. (Reader, I've just finished it, and can promise you a poignant, suspenseful, and extremely romantic story set in the gorgeous Georgian era.)

Welcome, Isabella!

Many thank to my BFF and fellow Nerdy History Girl Loretta for inviting me here to write a guest post for her...

The Lion's Daughter and Captives of the Night audiobooks now available

A couple of years ago, I never thought this would happen. Loretta Chase audiobooks? Right. When Loretta Chase gets that small house and gigantic library/studio in, say, England, I would have said. Or maybe several houses with duplicate libraries/studios in a warm climate as well as here at home in New England. Fantasyland, in other words.

But things have changed. Radically. In the last year, all three of my Dressmakers books were released as audiobooks. So was Lord of Scoundrels. So were my t...

Peaceful Christmas Eve

Marcel Reider, Noel No. 1725 (1898)

Marcel Reider, Noel No. 1725 (1898)

Well, we can hope.

After the pre-holiday frenzy subsides and before the feasting and gift-giving, some of us might feel a little melancholy, others might feel nostalgic or maybe even filled with loving kindness. This painting seems to capture these and other emotions, and to me evokes Christmas Eve in a particularly beautiful way.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, my dear friends!

The gift of good writing

Like several million other people, I’m a huge fan of Grammarly on Facebook.

The posts are funny and thought-provoking. So are the comments: the clever repartee, the puns, the indignation, the tears (both kinds).

If reading is a crucial part of your existence, if you’ve had a big crush on the English language since childhood, and if you like to see apostrophes in the right place, then I think you’ll like this place, too. Or maybe you’ve known about Grammarly for ages and are wondering why it to...

Megan Frampton's North & South Swoon

Author Megan Frampton has graciously consented to help me launch a new phase in this blog’s career: Interesting Stuff Not About Me.

I invited her to talk about her recently released Avon historical romance, The Duke’s Guide to Correct Behavior, but Megan did something else—and her intro explains, in part, why Megan & I are friends: She wants to give readers something a bit different, like posts about the things that move and inspire her. You can find more of this approach on Megan's website a...

EBooks and others in the U.K.

UK Your Scandalous Ways.jpg

UK Don't Tempt Me.jpg

As my readers in the U.K. are all too well aware, my books tend to appear there quite a bit later than they do in the U.S. However, eventually, they do show up.

By now the books illustrated here should be available at all the major e-retailers. But since my agent very kindly saved me the time of getting the Kindle links, the links below lead to Amazon. But you should be able to find the books at your own preferred eBook source. If you have problems, please let me know. Most of the time,...

Vixen in Velvet's achievements

It's not quite the latest news, because I have been bogged down with Evil Migraines and trying, in between the incapacitation (where I play deathbed scenes from La Traviata and La Bohème—alternating between Violetta and Mimi) to finish Lady Clara's story, Dukes Prefer Blondes).

But better late than never, and this is good news for Vixen in Velvet.

The third Dressmakers book made Library Journal's Best Books of 2014.

It's also nominated for RT's Best Historical Love and Laughter.
