Any plans for Halloween Brandon? Also, might be a stupid question, but if had to be one, would you be a vampire or a werewolf? Or something else of your preference?

What did I dooo?

I was supposed to go to a party at a comic artist’s house here in P-land but me and Alejandra ended up driving my little sister back to Seattle and then I had a poster for a porn company I had to finish.

As far as Vampires V werewolves

I don’t think I would enjoy eating people, but living for a long time would be nice. Werewolves seem cooler to me, but also they seem like they would be less in control of themselves. and maybe if you just wake up with no memory covered in blood you’d still be killing people.

There were those awful Underworld movies where a guy became a Vampire/Werewolf hybrid and just looked like one of the aliens from Avatar

I feel like If I’m honest I’m more of a werewolf than a Vampire –just as a dude. I am SUCH a mammal, Vampires seem like reptiles.

Brandon, given the chance and the choice, who would be the horror icon would you work with for a potential horror comic or something: Clive Barker, John Carpenter or Wes Craven? (not Eli Roth because he's horrible)

This is the easiest question I’ve ever answered.

I have no strong feelings about

Wes Craven’s work.( I keep meaning to watch the Dream Warriors Nightmare on Elmstreet movie)

I mostly dislike Del Toro’s work (I think his stuff tends to look good– but Hellboy, and Blade 2 were SoooOOoo bad- I do enjoy calling Pan’s labyrinth -Pants

labyrinth tho.

I like Clive Barker’s stuff, Hellraiser is great & I like his interviews and drawings.

but I LOVE Carpender’s work.

(here’s an old Jack Burton drawing I did.

I know there’s been comics of of Big Trouble and Snake Plissken. Shirow even threw a Snake cameo into Appleseed (see how the patch is on the wrong side because the page was flipped for English readers)

I bet my old Prophet bra Giannis would do an amazing Snake comic.

I read that his Ghosts of Mars was possibly a reworked

Escape From Mars– Which I think could make a real fun comic. …”welcome to the human race…”

Also you could do some pretty cool stuff with They Live. Maybe even something corny like a comic that comes with glasses that allow you to see the subliminals behind the ads.

Or a follow up to the movie, with humanity at war with aliens that have taken over the world. It could be interesting to show life after humanity learned of the alien’s existence. With them still in power and much of humanity still going along with it– with alien tech more integrated into normal use.

Is it true the late Robbin Williams was a fan of your work?

Yeah, that was really cool. He mentioned Multiple Warheads on the

Harmontown podcast. (it’s up here) Also talked about Moebius and Transmet.

Later I went to Meltdown comics, where Harmontown was recorded & where Williams got his comics. The guys working there told me that he had brought in Sarah Silverman in & talked her into buying my porn comic Pillow fight.

just to clarify (its been an eventful 2/3 years, wouldn't you agree?) from the 8house branding you got 5 things: mirror which is doing its own thing and serializing the 2nd trade right now; arclight which got a trade and its done; from under mountains whic

I’m glad it looks that way. Island ending was rough. but I’m happy that we tried it. & 8house got some good trades out. Mirror has been amazing & I’m thrilled that Emma and Hwei have managed to keep it going at such an amazing level of quality.

From Under Mountains might still continue, with Sandra Lanz on art instead of Sloane Leong. (Slone has moved onto her own Image book– that looks to be great) –here’s a Sandra drawing of FUM

And me and Marian got Arclight DOneeee! I’m really happy with it, and needless to say Marian draws better than just about anyone and everyone.

Fil Barlow is finishing his Zooniverse rework before getting back to Yorris.

And Xurxo has been going nuts on new Kiem pages. It looks like we’ll go straight to trade, but I’m gonna go talk to Image next week & see what they wanna do.

Thanks for the message. I’m excited to get more of my own written/drawn books out as the main next thing. but putting together 8house with all the rad people involved was a great time. –that I hope continues in some form.
