Better Days
Why muddle through Monday like a corn maze?
Today can be one of your better days.
Pray and acknowledge God in all your ways.
Navigate with clearness instead of haze.
Divine guidance will improve your mindset.
View your morning as welcome versus threat.
Complaints, forget, along with need to fret.
Encounter gladness rather than regret.

New Year's Resolution
Are you steadfast on your resolution?
Will you follow through to execution?
Do you speak but to have something to say—
To begin the New Year a clever way?
Are you “woke” or just talking in your sleep?
Your promises to yourself, will you keep?
A different lifestyle, will you begin,
Or will you disappointment yourself again?
What will time tell about you—true or false?
Do you exist only to bear a pulse?
Have you looked inside for what makes you tick?
Habits—do you have the wherewithal to kick?
Two thousand...

Twice the Blessings
Being fruitful—adding two baby girls,
Ready yourself for double coos and curls.
Inspiring but more than same dressings,
Twins are, without a doubt, twice the blessings.
Look forward to interesting tales of glee—
Each one—Briannaley and Briannley.
You will be the fine mom that you always were,
Handling the demands your duties incur.

Clean Slate
A new year has arrived.
Thank God, we survived.
We leave behind the past.
Let’s advance with a blast.
A new week, a fresh date —
You possess a clean slate.
What action will you take
To ensure that it is great.

Joy to My World
Joy to my world, you ushered in from birth.
Each day as your mother is one of mirth.
Rich in personality, you just are.
Embrace who God made you—gleam like a star.
Music, laughter, and wisdom, you present.
Intelligence—you prove high in content.
Armed with manners, you lead a helpful life.
Handsome and charming, you will find a wife.

Onward to Friends
Meeting as coworkers some time ago,
Onward to friends—who could predict we’d go?
Now, we stand in different places of work.
In continued acquaintance, we find perk.
Calling each other when we have a chance,
Attending events with right circumstance—
Comrades, we remain as the years advance.
Happy we become, when each progresses—
Able to cheer one another's successes.
Reassuring words to problems, we grant,
Listening to the occasional rant.
Eager I am—birthday greetings to send,
So today I say, “Happy Birt...
Birthday Behavior
Choose to celebrate your day how you wish.
Engage in behavior that you relish.
Do have your cake and eat it, too; believe—
Royal treatment you deserve to receive.
Indulge yourself—after all, it’s your day.
Cheers, to you, man—let the music play!

Holiday Blues
My singleness—I question the reason
During birthday and holiday season.
Why do I have to celebrate alone?
Am I always going to be on my own?
Having someone to bring me candy—
That sort of amusement would be dandy.
I long for an admirer to heap me
With roses and nobleman’s courtesy.
For now, my husband is my Maker
Until coming of sincere taker.
The Lord daily loads me with benefits,
Satisfies my mouth with good things—tidbits.
His blessings make me rich, I must admit.
They fail to add sorrow—even a bit....

Scatter-Brained
Where do I begin on my to-do list—
Piles of unfinished business to complete?
I have started and stopped countless projects.
For my time and attention, they compete.
A novel idea arrives in my head.
I gush with excitement at its greatness.
I even voice my plan for its fruition.
Soon, I forget and lament its lateness.

Dream Detour
I keep getting off track, it seems—
Exiting the path of my dreams.
I hear skeptics voicing their doubt,
Urging me to take safer route.
I strive to center on my goals,
But I run over life’s potholes.
Handing the steering wheel to fear,
Toward my problems, I soon veer.
Whenever I regain control,
I have lost time and paid a toll.
The delay tempts me to go back.
Thoughts of defeat, I know I must attack.
I refuse to die full of unused gifts,
Leaving my end with massive rifts.
God created me with purpose in mind...
