Risks You should Consider While Transporting Goods on Land in India

With globalisation, it has become easier to transport goods from one part of the country to another in a short period. The whole process of transportation has become simpler with the development of differentspeedy modes of land transport.

According to a report of the Planning Commission, there has been an estimated increase in the use of land transport for commercial purposes. The report confirms that the rail and road freight traffic is projected to grow at about 12 % and 8 % per annum respectively to achieve a 50 % share each in the total freight traffic till 2032. However, the rise in the transport industry is accompanied by the risk of constant damage to the goods, which are sometimes unavoidable in nature.

Major causes of Road and Rail accidents in India in recent years

Derailment of trains

Derailment of train deemed to be the highest cause of train accidents in our country. Around 6 out of 7 train accidents recorded in India in 2016 were because of derailment of trains. It can lead to damage to goods as the train loses its balance and leads to fall or overturning of the coaches leading to death and injuries to multiple people.

Train collisions

In 2014, Gorakhpur-bound Gorakhdham Express rammed into a stationary goods train near Khalilabad station in Uttar Pradesh. Collision of trains with other transports is the second-highest cause of accidents in India. Collisions also include ramming the trains with the vehicles on the roads at bridge crossings.

Road traffic collisions

Collision of vehicles on roads is a common sight in India. Collisions can lead to extensive damage to goods in transit due to the ignition of fire and overturning of vehicles and damage to the packaging of goods.

According to a report by the World Health Organization (WHO), the major causes of traffic collisions on the road are:

Driving over the speed limit,
Drunk driving
Failure to maintain lane or yield to the oncoming traffic when turning are prime causes of accidents on the four lane

Rail Misalignment due to floods

Natural disasters like floods can hamper the functioning of the whole rail network. A train derailed in Madhya Pradesh in 2015 and its bogies fell into Machak river after flash floods caused rail misalignment. Such cases are not uncommon in areas which experience heavy rainfall and floods. Dense fog conditions are also one of the major causes of derailment and collisions of road and rail traffic.

Burglary and theft:

Theft of goods in transit is not uncommon, especially in riot-prone areas. Goods are often destroyed to hamper the economy of a particular company, region or state. Burglary and theft might also be carried out as a criminal activity to vent out personal grudges.

Above mentioned are some of the risks that lead to damage and loss of valuable goods in commercial vehicles. To prevent it, taking the safety measures is a necessity.

Suggested safety measures to reduce loss or damage to goods

It is said that precaution is better than cure. The same holds true in case of transporting goods from one place to another. Below are some of the safety measures that might be taken by business units to avoid considerable loss or damage to goods.

Use the most appropriate form of transport for your goods

If a large block of limestone is loaded in a mini-truck, which is small for it, it is going to lead to accidents due to overhanging of the goods. Thus, use of appropriate vehicle and mode of transport is a must to ensure the security of goods in transit.

Use appropriate containers:

Storing salt in containers that had been used for chemicals can be a bad idea. It can also lead to combustion and fire to the goods in transit. Similarly, overloading the packaging cartons can lead to extensive damage to goods.

Use a good tracking system

The tracking system can help one save the high-value goods as their location will constantly be tracked and risks can be judged at various locations.

Ensure weight is distributed evenly

Even distribution of goods is necessary to maintain balance and to avoid overturning of vehicles. This is also applicable when ladders are put to remove the loads of goods.

Inland transit insurance

The Inland transit insurance policy provides cover to the insured’s business goods or while being transported by land. It provides protection against risks like

Fire
Theft
Burglary
Third party liability
Natural disasters like cyclones, floods, storms etc.

Most insurers offer this policy with the advantage of cover against all risks. The policy can however be customised according to one’s requirements.

So, safety is a must to save businesses from considerable losses. Even if damage or loss occurs, protect through availing suitable insurance policies.

The Beauty of Traveling Alone

Just about everyone loves traveling, which is also among the most rapidly growing industries today. The interesting thing about traveling is that it always changes. A few decades ago, for instance, traveling solo seemed a farfetched idea. In the last few years, however, the craze for solo traveling has been on an upward trend.

Traveling solo has been compared to moving to a new place without having to find a trustworthy real estate company. You get the same kind of excitement of going to a new place as you would to move somewhere new. You get to meet new friends, experiencing new sights and sounds, all while creating new memories that last a lifetime.

Today, we will go over the beauty to traveling alone. Let’s get started!

The Five Beautiful Facts about Traveling Alone

You’re Guaranteed to Enjoy the Trip

If you travel alone, particularly if you are at peace with yourself, the trip will be more serene, because there is no risk of the kind of disagreements that at times arise when you’re traveling with friends or family. When traveling with others, the promise of a beautiful day can easily be overshadowed by arguments about things that may later turn out to be completely irrelevant.

You are also guaranteed to enjoy the trip, because you are the one who has done all the planning where you stay and what to see on a budget that you’re comfortable with. You may have saved a portion of your money each paycheck for this vacation, or you could have even tried using online fundraising for this well needed vacation. You may be a thrifty person where it doesn’t bother you to stay at a hostel, where if you’re traveling with others, they may want to stay in a separate room.

You Can Easily Make New Friends

When traveling with others, it’s easy to talk with one another, especially in a place where you can’t speak the local language. This does not only mean that you, and your friends have stories to share and laugh about; it also means that you don’t get the opportunity to know locals properly.

Conversely, traveling alone forces you to speak up and forge friendships with locals, as well as other travelers. If you stay at a hostel, this is a great place to forge new friendships and go see a tourist spot or grab a drink with a few new people. Furthermore, individuals traveling alone look more approachable compared to large groups; and hence, more people may come up to speak to you.

It Gives You Confidence and Freedom

This is perhaps the best reason to travel alone. Traveling solo allows you to be confident and independent in ways you could never have imagined. With this new found confidence you still have to remember to be safe on travels.

If traveling makes you a better and smarter person, than traveling solo makes you more so. It’ll leave you feeling more empowered, with the capability of tackling anything that stands in your way.

You Can Do Anything You Want

When traveling with a friend, you may have to forego doing that half-day at the spa, no matter how much you want it, just because you don’t want to leave your partner with nothing to do. Or you may be coerced to spending your hard earned money on a fancy hotel that uses high end kitchen faucets brands rather than a budget hotel you’d prefer. Conversely, when traveling by yourself, it’s up to you if you waste the whole day sitting outside with a cocktail by the pool instead of sightseeing, there will be no one to answer to.

It Gives You the Opportunity to Learn Yourself

Besides facing all the challenges alone; you’ll also experience the good things alone. There’ll be no one to consult; and hence, you have to learn to trust your own instinct and to engage in internal dialogue. There’s no better way to know yourself really well than this.

With this experience, you’ll become a stronger, a more complete, and a more pleasant individual when you return from your trip. Think of how this will change how you think in your everyday life affecting future outcomes of your individualism.

Conclusion

Traveling alone may be a daunting experience, but it’s worth the effort. When one travels alone, a whole world of opportunities can open. An unaccompanied traveler has the gift of being able to concentrate on her travel needs instead of minding everyone else’s.

Have you decided where you would like to take a solo trip to? What would you like to do that might go against the grain of your friends that you’ve always wanted to try?

Is Your Enterprise Big on Data Yet

This month exactly, last year, it was released in Forbes that 52% of enterprises saw Big Data as an opportunity, as opposed to a threat. This survey also revealed that of enterprises with over 1,000 employees, 52% were planning to increase their expenditure on Big Data. A year on, we’re taking a look at why investing in data and data software is no longer a leap in the dark, but a strategic make or break for SMEs across the globe. So why is it so important for your enterprise? Here are our top 3 reasons why investing in, or increasing your investment in, Big Data can benefit you tenfold…

It Can Give You Direction

Unlike well established businesses, your enterprise might be in its infancy, and, like all newborns, may well be having some teething problems. This is especially true for a large number of lead gen enterprises, who are struggling to either find the right lead methods, lead management or conversion tactics. If you’re lead gen you’ll have already have amassed a lot of data, and of course your success will hinge from your ability to bring this to fruition. So if you already have a wealth of data then why might you need more? Well, it may simply be that your pool of contacts, leads, or demographic is either far too narrow, or you’re way off your potential demographics’ price/product expectations.

Failing that, perhaps you’re leads are too thin, and you’re not fine tuning your marketing audiences well enough to create conversions. Using Big Data then, and a Big Data storage system, such as an electronic lab notebook can help you manage which leads are worth investing in, which sources the leads are coming from (and therefore which to invest more money in), and which aren’t even worth pursuing. By finding out more about your customers lifestyles you’re not only in a position to tailor make your business models and services, but you’re also able to eliminate any fruitless, dead-end contacts and regain time wasted shooting in the dark.

It Can Increase Efficiency

Efficiency is both applicable internally and externally, and Big Data could help increase both of these simultaneously, but that doesn’t mean it will happen overnight. In the same way as giving your enterprise direction will stop unnecessary wasted chasing of non-existent leads, investing in some in-depth data research and curation will increase your overall enterprise efficiency. This will certainly take some costly man hours, but this process is ten times more effective than jumping in blind at every opportunity that may arise. This data driven model need not merely be exhausted on driving leads, using internal data is crucial to your business model and future improvement and progression as a SME. Take data and trends from your own employees and projects and find out what is working, what is falling short and what is impressive to date. Compile this data into a presentation and use hard facts, and trends to predict your profits, drops, changes in infrastructure, etc. Once you have all of your own data in tow, make sure that you’re working towards an efficient business model and eliminating any challenges you foresee arising.

It Can Make You More Engaging

One of the biggest, most obvious yet most important, advantages of investing in Big Data, is you have no excuses to get it wrong. Compare it to a well-prepped first date, you’ve only got one brief impression to make, so it needs to count. Have you listened to what your partner wants? Invested the hours into listening to their desires and needs? Revealed what they absolutely don’t want and loathe? You wouldn’t take a vegetarian to Five Guys, so if you’re user hates pretentious business jargon and content heavy ads, you need to engage with an alternative. Try video, in 2017 even memes and gifs are fast making headway in PPC ads to engage users in remarketing. Instead of spamming people with things they aren’t interested in, play to their weaknesses, and if that’s cute gifs of animals, then go right ahead…

How Outsourcing Some Functions Can Help Focus Your Business

Are you trying to find new ways to increase productivity while juggling multiple responsibilities? If you’re like many business owners, you may find that your burden is eased somewhat by relegating some functions like payroll or call center duties to a dedicated outside service provider. Call center plus services take the notion of any time customer service up to the next level while saving you time and money.

What is the ‘Plus’ in Call Center Plus?

If a call center is the main hub of interaction between you, your associates and your customers, a call center plus acts as a fully automated, personalized communications network that runs 24/7. While no two service providers are the same, most automated customer service centers handle call routing and scheduling as well as such functions as:

– taking messages and routing them to the correct associate

– monitoring and responding to emails and online inquiries

– scheduling and dispatching service personnel and technicians

– processing orders

– call screening

Most call centers use detailed databases to provide personal service based on customer history to help ensure a better overall experience. When you’re able to assist your customers quickly and in a more efficient manner, it also means less time spent trying to direct calls to the proper agent or department while allowing your staff to focus better. That creates a win for the customers and for you.

In-House Call Centers Versus Outsourcing

You may wonder why you need an outside service provider to handle the same duties that a PA or receptionist could handle, especially if you have a small business. However, even the most talented multi-tasker is unable to process large volumes of calls, automatically redirect calls based on a convergence of customer need and associate skill level, or handle middle of the night emergencies as fast or as efficiently as an automated system that’s specifically set up to respond to the particular needs of your business.

Choosing a dedicated company to handle your business calling and correspondence means more than just cost or time savings for you and your staff; a dedicated service provider does one thing, and does it well. Aside from reducing payroll and allowing your employees to respond to the most important job elements first, you’ll also have less infrastructure to support and maintain. That translates to less upfront investment in equipment lease or purchase, installation and maintenance, and usually a smaller ongoing cash outlay.

With dedicated call center plus support, all networking and connectivity capabilities, both virtual and physical, are normally housed with the service provider, who is responsible for updates, repairs and system trouble-shooting. This reduces the resources and space you need on-site, as well as the need for an IT professional, and puts the responsibility for upkeep on the service provider. Since call center providers deal with a wide range of customers who have an array of needs, service providers usually have the most current technology and more powerful hardware and processing abilities.

Customer service is about service first and foremost. When you have the right system in place to provide a superior level of assistance, you’ll decrease incidences of dissatisfaction and retain more business. You can learn more about the advantages of call center automation and other technologies that are designed to help your business thrive by contacting a reputable service provider.

How to Deliver Great Marketing on a Budget

One of the most important factors in running a successful business is having an effective marketing strategy that generates leads and builds your brand’s reputation. If you’re not a marketing expert then it can be hard working out where you need to start off with your marketing strategy, and you may even want to outsource the work if you don’t have the in-house marketing skills. However, if you are looking to keep costs to a minimum, you will be pleased to hear that there are several tried and tested tools that are available, and completely free.

Here are a few great examples of the readily available tools you can start using today, all without spending any money at all:

Social Media – For easy management of multiple social media accounts, there are a number of great tools that you can use to make life easier. Both Hootsuite and Buffer offer some great features that will allow you to manage several accounts at the same time, saving you valuable time which can be spent on other tasks.

Websites – It is essential for any business to have an online presence, allowing potential customers to find them. There are website providers that will allow you to build a website completely for free, such as Wix and WordPress. The site builders are fairly straightforward to use and you can have a website up and running in a day. There are a few restrictions with the free hosting options, like not being able to use your own domain name, no customer support available, and limited storage. The provider can also use your website to display ads, so if you want a professional looking website you might be better paying the monthly fee for a webhost package that has less restrictions. You can normally get a good quality, shared hosting package for around $5 per month.

Email Marketing – MailChimp is a standout free service, ideal for any email marketing campaign, and many marketing professionals use MailChimp to construct professional email campaigns with powerful monitoring tools. The free package is great for small businesses who are starting off their first email campaign.

Content Creation – The key to any successful marketing campaign is the content, so if you are looking for a tool that will enable you to design quality content then there are plenty of great options available. For marketing material such as posters, infographics and brochures, Canva is a great free option that provides loads of templates and free images for you to use on your campaigns.

One of the most effective marketing channels at the moment is video, so being able to use this channel is great for increasing lead generation. There are free options available through both Facebook and YouTube that will help you to build great video content without needing to buy expensive video editing software.

Marketing can either be costly,or as cost saving as you want it to be. We highly recommend trying these great free tools before you start spending money, as they are highly useful and readily available.

4 Reasons Why Your Business Should Develop a Mobile App

In 2009, worldwide mobile app downloads totalled approximately 2.52 billion. However, 2017 is set to see this figure soar to a predicted 268.69 billion downloads. Customers and businesses alike now want 24/7 access to each other and mobile apps act as a platform for this.

Customers want to have the freedom to access and edit their account details, track any orders, receive perks, or engage with the company. With worldwide mobile commerce estimate to reach £180 billion by 2018, can you afford not to arm your company with a mobile app?

Increased Visibility

Research has revealed that the average person spends 90 minutes on their mobile phone per day, which equates to a staggering 23 days per year! Although this is somewhat concerning in the grand scheme of things, businesses can utilise the time people are spending on their smartphones by developing an app. Even though most people tend to flit between WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter, and Gmail whilst on their phones, they will always cast an eye over most apps whilst finding the one they are after.

The human mind subconsciously records every image we come across, so businesses with well-designed app icons are likely to stay in the minds of users. Furthermore, being ever present in an individual’s app menu will result in clicks. E-commerce and fitness apps are the most browsed apps outside of social media and communications tools.

Brand Credibility

If you don’t have a mobile app, can you even consider yourself a legitimate business? Just like brands who do not have social media platforms, some customers and clients can be put-off if they cannot access information via their phone or tablet. Hopping on a desktop or getting your laptop out to engage with a business in some form is now considered archaic and a brand’s credibility can be dented if they do not have a well-designed app.

Boost Customer Engagement

Restaurant bookings app OpenTablebuilt its entire app around customer engagement. Calling a restaurant to make a reservation can be a chore, especially when service is so busy nobody answers. OpenTable allows you to browse restaurants and book a table in less than five clicks.

As consumers, we do all we can to avoid phoning companies. We want a way to reach businesses and mobile apps with instant chat, specific contact email addresses, or a help desk feature are much more attractive. It is imperative that there is an open line of communication and apps can make businesses much more approachable, resulting in a boosted engagement.

Customer Exclusivity

Mobile apps are a valuable customer portal that can be used to increase awareness and sales. Many fashion and beauty retailers offer customers a percentage off the first time they place an order through their app. Others regularly give out exclusive in-app deals, early access to sales, and money off days. Customers, feeling part of an exclusive secret inner sanctum, make the most of the perks on off. Subsequently, this results in a staggering increase in sales.

Regardless of the nature of your business, there are always different ways to create exclusive deals and offers for those who utilise your mobile app.

The Choice between What is Right, and What is Convenient- Integrity of your Actions

Everyday we face many situations where our moral conscious is tested. Would you betray your friend’s trust if both of you get into trouble? Do you break promises? Would you go back to a store and return the extra change the cashier gave you by mistake? While making a deal, do you make sure everything is on the table and nothing is left out? Are you honest with your client with the deal? Do you pay all your taxes, and not cheat the government? Are you true to your partner, are you having an honest relationship with your loved ones? It isn’t always about what you do, it is about how you do it.

What does Integrity mean? Integrity is the quality of being honest with your work and yourselves. Integrity is ethics and sincerity. Integrity is sticking to your moral values even when you have difficult situations. Integrity is doing the right thing, knowing you may have to face serious consequences of your decision later on. Integrity is not compromising your righteousness, maintaining the consistency of your character. Integrity is something hypocrites cannot relate with.

The concept is simple, yet powerful- stay true. You can’t spend your time questioning your own actions. There is always an urge to take the short road, to act dishonest, to cheat, but resisting this temptation takes courage. You need to listen to your conscious, the voice that tells you to act according to the principles you have set for own self. All this in turn impacts our success in life and at work. Integrity develops trust among people. When we are ready to hold ourselves accountable for our actions, we become dependable. Companies want employees who are trustworthy, people who stick to their words and meet deadlines.  People who live and work with integrity are more likely to be considered for promotions. You build a decent reputation.

Define you values. Set some boundaries for yourself. These values are your core beliefs, something you cannot compromise upon at any cost. Analyze every decision you make, every choice you pick. You can’t cut corners and pick up a simpler, but a wrong option only because no one is watching. Integrity isn’t something you adopt according to your convenience, these are values you should live with all the time. People will force you to make a wrong decision, in their own selfish interests, but you need to be stubborn enough to stand by your ground morals. Be humble, yet have a high self-esteem. Surround yourself with people who bring out the best in you, not people who push you into a negative corner. Keep in mind that in the times of moral crisis, the temptation to make the wrong choice is even greater. Use this opportunity to demonstrate your true character.

Live according to your own beliefs. Your words mean nothing when your actions are the opposite.

5 Reasons Why a Virtual Office Could Be Your Ideal Business Solution

For a long time, the image of a successful company was based on a structured, archetypal office space. There are individual workstations, booths, or desks for employees. There might be a canteen or a leisure area for break times. Most importantly, there is a sense of order, rigidity, and routine.

Yet, anybody who has ever worked in an office like this knows that, often, productivity is in short supply. Without the right balance between personal focus and team interaction, employees do not get the stimulation they need to produce great results. It is why many new businesses are breaking with tradition and opting for virtual office solutions.

This guide to the benefits of virtual offices in Australia will give you an insight into the world of flexible, contemporary workspaces.

Access to Facilities

Flexible facilities, like the virtual offices at Servcorp, can be found in all of the major cities in Australia. They are perfect for entrepreneurs looking for a way to launch because they come with minimal overheads. Instead of paying separately for internet, electricity, heating, cleaning, telephone lines, and more, choose a fixed monthly fee and access the complete package.

Help with Basic Tasks

Many of the tasks which eat up office time are quite basic. Answering the phone, for example, is a simple process, but it often requires a dedicated member of staff. That is unless you decide to work from a virtual space, with a shared service. Most virtual facilities provide access to a highly skilled receptionist who can answer calls in any way that you request.

Lower Overheads

Most new businesses do not have access to unlimited cash. They have to plan their investments very carefully so that as many startup expenses can be recouped as possible. It is much easier to do if you are not tied down to a rigid office lease. Virtual facilities do not require a long-term agreement; you can stop or start using their services at any time. Plus, it only takes a chat with a representative to upgrade or downscale your current package.

Strong Identity

Don’t overestimate the power of a great first impression, particularly when you are young and new on the scene. If you can position yourself close to the major players, both geographically and economically, you will attract the same attention from investors and sponsors. A prestigious corporate address goes a long way to convincing people that you are worth a second look. So, take advantage of the fact that many virtual offices are in highly sought after locations.

Easier Credit

It might not be fair to base credit decisions on where a small business starts out, particularly if it can demonstrate a secure plan for growth, but most lenders do. It means that you are less likely to be approved for loans if you operate out of a home base like a garage or a bedroom. Acquiring a corporate address shows that you take the venture seriously and are planning to expand it in a demonstrable, profitable way.

Why Going Virtual is Your Fast Track to Success

The temptation is to assume that the loss of a private office is a negative thing. Yet, recent studies disagree with this. Every year, more businesses opt for flexible office solutions and the freedom to make instant changes leads to greater productivity. Employees feel more creative. Teams get more opportunities to collaborate and network. Plus, investors appreciate the security which comes with an agile growth strategy.

Top Places to Visit in San Diego

Imagine starting a vacation by getting off a flight in San Diego, California. You stretch and grab your bags, ready for vacation and relaxation, and call for airport car services. Your driver tells you he can take you anywhere you want to go in the city. This is the moment of truth; out of the many beautiful attractions the city has to offer, which one should you choose? Any one of them would be the right choice, but with the limited time on offer you want to see the best. So, to help you decide, here are just a handful of the best places to stop by during your visit to San Diego.

Hotel Del Coronado

Let’s start with a place you may want to stay at during your trip – the Hotel Del Coronado. Celebrities, presidents, and even royalty have graced the rooms of this beach front hotel. In fact, this hotel was the first seaside resort to open on the west coast and it has absolutely flourished since then. It has managed to blend its classic look and style with amenities that have developed in the modern age. This has created the perfect blend that everyone will enjoy.

San Diego Zoo Safari Park

The San Diego Zoo is famous for its diversity, but the San Diego Safari Park gives you an interactive experience that is utterly unforgettable. This safari goes beyond your imagination when you think of the typical safari. While it does offer the traditional caravan safari, if you want more of a thrill, you could try their zip line safari or jungle ropes safari. If you want, the zoo even offers their “Roar and Snore” safari which allows you to spend the night in the park.

U.S.S. Midway Museum

If history and education are what you’re interested in, the city can provide this as well. A prime example is the U.S.S. Midway Museum, which is named not only for the aircraft carrier preserved from World War II but for all of those who “serve, educate, and inspire”. This is far more than your average museum with interactive exhibits such as their Air Combat 360 Ride, which allows riders to reserve a chance to experience a battle flight simulation that they control.

Balboa Park

Balboa Park is a much-loved attraction for both tourists and locals in San Diego. Balboa is the largest urban park in the United States, but that is not the only reason you should visit. It features 15 different museums, performing arts venues, and the park actually houses the San Diego Zoo as well. Beyond its attractions, though, the park is beautiful with astounding design and architecture too.

Seaport Village

If shopping is your idea of a good time, then you should visit Seaport Village during your visit. Not only does this attraction have over 50 shops but 17 places to eat and countless types of outdoor entertainment. With the wonderful San Diego weather, no matter when your trip is you’ll be able to enjoy a day trip to this outdoor shopping center.

Virtual Reality & Mobile Gambling trends in 2017

Let’s talk gambling. 2017 is set to see more growth in the online casino and sports betting industry. Companies are now focusing on improving the mobile experience. The last online casino games are designed to deliver the ultimate gaming experience.

V R Casinos can now detect a gambler’s presence in the game. You can find a list of trusted secure online casinos that are leading the way in virtual reality by looking out for the latest TV campaigns. The operator Schmitts Casino is one of the leading brands in this industry.

eSports!

If you are into the whole concept of Virtual Reality then think seriously about PlayStaition VR for a few good reasons.

The PlayStation is a lot cheaper than either Oculus or Vive
The VR works with all of the PS4 Consoles
You will enjoy 120Hz refresh rate for those smooth visuals that are so important

Along with the Pros there are always Cons

The PlaySTation Camera isn’t included in the box
There are no Move controllers included either
The resolution is a bit disappointing

BUT Resident Evil 7 on the PlayStation VR is totally amazing and a true game changer.

2016 held a lot of promise when it came to VR, we now have three headsets that are available to the general public but by far the most commercial is the PS VR.  Okay so the amount of games is not amazing but as I said before Resident Evil 7 provides total immersitivity and at only £349 it is it inside many gamers budgets.

Specs

Resolution is 1.920 x 1,080
Refresh Rate is 120Hz
Weighs just 610g
Display OLED

To use the PSVR all you need to do is plug it into the back of your PS4 vial the bundled control box.  As long as you have a DualShock 4 controller the only other piece of kit you need is a PS Camera. If you look about there are several retailers selling the camera as a part of the PSVR bundle.

Once you have those three things sorted  you are set to go as there is no hassle of having to upgrade any of rig’s components and there is no PC involved.

Sony recommends that you sit about five feet or so away from the camera so this means you probably won’t have to do a major rearrange of your furniture. Plus the PSVR is first and foremost a seated VR experience.

Sony’s PSVR is also compatible with the company’s Move controllers. The wands were originally launched for the PS3 mainly due to the success of the Wii, but since then they really have not had a lot of love thrown their way, but now it’s time to dust them off.

Several of the PSVR are using these controllers with great success and although they are not essential they will definitely add to your whole experience of PSVR. The wands act as disembodied hands moving in a more natural way then your DualShock 4 controller would.

That, however, is all personal choice.

Setting up your PSVR is like setting up a HTC Vive or an Oculus Rift, The PSVR’s headset is tethered by a long cable that trails from the back of the headset right into the main control box, and the main control box plugs right into the back of PS4.  Because you are sitting down a lot of the time the cable should not cause a tripping problem if you are careful and don’t have kids or the family pet running in and out of the room you are playing in.

This version of VR might not be the most advanced but because of the price and the fact that you probably have half of the kit already it’s sure to be a winner with PlayStation fans worldwide.

Virtual Reality is here to stay and the future looks promising.
