Why iPhone Users Spend More Money Than Android Users?

As far as smartphones are concerned, iPhone users have been observed to spend more on apps than their Android counterparts. This has been a consistent trend over the past years, and something that is expected to continue well into the coming years as well.

According to the report, ‘State Of In-App Spending’, iOS users spend about 2.5 times more money. Nearly 71% of iOS users were also seen to be making at least one payment each month through their device. In contrast, just 4.6% of Android users made a payment every month.





Coming to the question of why such a great variance exists between these two mobile operating systems, there are actually many factors that contribute to it. And in this post, we will look at a few reasons behind this trend.





The Target Market



One of the most important things you have to understand about iPhone and Android is that they both have radically different markets. And this mostly has to do with the pricing of these smartphones. While an iPhone costs around $600, to begin with, you can get an Android smartphone for as little as $80 and can go up to $600 and beyond.





This essentially means that those who buy iPhones are mostly high-income professionals or wealthy people. In contrast, people who buy an Android phone can be the daily wage earner or a wealthy, high-income individual. As such, while the iPhone market represents a singular group (rich), the Android market is composed of a mixed group (rich and poor). This is more observable in markets outside North America.





And this contrast in customer base is one of the reasons why iPhone users are seen to spend more than Android users. After all, if the entire market is composed of high earning individuals, their spending will inevitably be greater than a market composed of both low income and high-income individuals.





More Developer Interest



iPhone also attracts a larger number of developers than Android, mostly due to the fact that iPhone users spend more money than Android users. This becomes a circular cause-effect relationship, where the developers keep flocking to the iOS platform and the iOS users keep spending more, which in turn attracts even more developers.





App development companies usually work within tight budgets when creating an app. And when trying to create for two platforms, they have to figure out which platform gives them the highest return. As a result, developers often prefer making paid apps for the iOS platform. And in the case of free apps, both the Android and iOS platforms are almost equally treated. But iOS still gets a slight preference due to the fact that its users do more in-app purchases than Android users.





The iPhone bias of the developers also goes on to affect how customers choose their smartphones. And the best example is the case of magazine apps. Since iPhone users will net them more money, many magazine apps were designed with iOS in mind.





Most magazine apps do not support Android or only consider it a second thought. As such, people who wish to subscribe to magazine apps usually end up buying an iPhone for reading their favorite magazines.





Brand Loyalty



Another major factor that plays a huge role in iPhone users spending more on apps is their brand loyalty. It is well known that iPhone users generally tend to be more loyal to their brand than Android.





A report by Morgan Stanley states than 92% of its surveyed iPhone users were likely to upgrade to an iPhone instead of any other device. In the case of an Android device, the closest rival was Samsung with 77% users claiming to be loyal to the brand. The rest of the manufacturers carried less than 60% loyalty.





With such a strong user base which is glued to everything that they do, it is no wonder that iPhone apps also tend to perform well. After all, someone who only seeks to buy an iPhone will have very high regard for not only the phone but also the services they use through the phone, including the apps. And this brand loyalty for the iPhone bleeds into its app offerings, resulting in a situation where iPhone users end up spending more on apps than Android users.





Credit Card Usage



With Android devices costing far less than iPhones, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Android phones are more used in developing nations rather than developed countries. And this also has an effect as to how many people purchase from the app stores.





People in developing nations usually don’t have as much credit cards as developed ones. They mostly make transactions in cash or use a debit card. And since Google apps require a credit card in order to purchase from the store, fewer people are in a position to actually buy anything from the Play Store even if they do have money and are willing to spend it on apps.





In contrast, since the iPhone is used more in developing countries by the salaried population carrying credit cards, spending on apps is easier for them when compared to Android users from the same region.





In addition, spending through credit cards have another positive effect. It is well known that most people will spend more than necessary when using credit cards compared to a debit card or cash. As such, the fact that the majority of iPhone users own credit cards ensures that the platform sees the highest spending when compared to Android. 





Over the coming years, spending by iPhone users is projected to grow consistently. A report by Sensor Tower predicts iOS spending to increase by about 40% within the next three years, with users spending nearly $88 per annum on both in-app purchases and paid apps. The biggest growth is expected to be in the entertainment and gaming industries.





And though the spending of Android users is also expected to rise in the future, one shouldn’t expect it to match the levels of an iPhone user anytime soon.

Even if people consider vape pens to be less offensive than cigarettes, the fact is that not everyone wants to inhale secondhand smoke. Designate a smoking section away from everyone else, and be sure to have something available to use as an ashtray. (You don’t want to end up with cigarette butts all over your yard.)

Importance of Various Tests While Hiring an Individual

Employees are considered the backbone of any organization. Without them, an organization cannot achieve its goals. Choosing an appropriate candidate is like cracking a deal worth millions. Therefore, an organization has to undergo a great recruitment procedure that can reduce the time involved for searching the candidate, interviewing the candidate and its training.









Recruitment is a linkage activity bringing together those with jobs and those seeking jobs. Every organization, big or small has to engage in the recruitment of persons as recruitment provides the most productive of all resources viz. Employees to an organization.





Recruitment has two important aspects mainly:



to find out the number of vacancies to be notified and the type of applicants needed to fill themto approach the potential applicants to apply for such vacancies.



There are a number of ways of recruiting an employee. These may be on the basis of seniority, former employees, present employees, advertisement, gate recruitment, etc. Recruitment of the right personnel at the right place is an important task for the organization to be accomplished. Also during this process, a pool of talent is gathered under one roof.





Well, once when the candidate is selected, he has to undergo a specific selection process which involves his adequate screening whether he is suitable for the job or not. Hence, there are various psychometric tests being performed to evaluate the dexterity of the candidate.





Psychometric tests are considered to be proficient as long as if it delivers the same results over time, ensures repetitive administration and validity. Both proficiency and validity should go hand in hand. If a test is not proficient, it may not be valid as well. Psychometric tests are conducted by the employers to assess the Intelligence, personality, and skills of an individual. Also, they help to evaluate the potentiality of an individual for working with others, coping up with the stress level of the job, processing information, etc.





Though, these tests are not a unique concept to the employers. Hence, it started in the early ’20s. Moreover, the first Intelligence test was introduced by Alfred Binet in 1905. These tests prove to be an authentic mark of good futuristic job performance. Psychometric tests include mainly three forms of tests.





The first form of tests involves Personality tests. These tests assemble information about the personnel to display personality traits such as behavior, thoughts, feelings, emotions, etc. They are successfully designed to determine the performance level of the individual at work, relationships with peers at the workplace, task management skills, motivation, etc.





The structure of the organization may be divided into teams or members of a particular team may be affected by their peers or co-workers. The leader of the team would guide the team, motivate all the members and thus encourage everyone for interaction and respond so as to entail the best out of them. The personnel characterized by the negative personality traits would have a harmful impact on the performance of the team.





Employers recognize that many aspects such as education, experience, the intelligence level of an individual are not sufficient while hiring an employee or manager. But also the personality characteristics play a major role. Therefore, Personality tests help to determine the personnel being fit or unfit according to the work environment of the organization.





The second form of tests includes the skills test which is mostly exercised testing technique. It helps the employer to evaluate how quickly the candidate can grasp a new skill to effectively carry out the assigned task. During the skills test the candidate might be asked to perform a task which will exhibit his potential for the concerned job. Skills tests help to gauge and assess the personnel’s personality type, the skills and the area of his expertise which would help to view a clear picture of whether the person is prolific for the organizational culture.





Also, with the advancement in technology, the ideology of pen and paper are slowly getting dispensable. Online examination tests are becoming the future of education globally. The combination of reliability, security, and scalability makes it likely desirable. Most of the organizations invest their time in recruiting and selection of the personnel through online tests.





The third and most important form of testis the aptitude test. Aptitude and intelligence quotient are somehow related to each other. Intelligent Quotient refers to a range of mental abilities whereas on the other hand Aptitude Discloses the remarkable abilities and provides with the strengths and weaknesses of an individual. Also, they are a way for employers to gauge the candidate’s aptness through a variety of testing formats. It basically involves numeric skills, problem-solving tasks, and prioritization. They include





Diagrammatic Reasoning: they test the efficiency of logic reasoning through flowcharts and diagrams.Numerical Reasoning: they test the mathematical efficiency by averages, percentages, etc.Verbal Reasoning: they test the ability to determine verbal logistics.Abstract Reasoning: these tests are similar to Intelligence Quotient tests which help to evaluate general knowledge of an individual and their ability to utilize the knowledge in different situations.Situational Judgment: these tests help to determine the problem-solving ability.Logic Reasoning: these tests help in testing the individual’s ability for recognizing patterns, sequences, and relationships between imagery and the shapes.Inductive Reasoning: these test the efficiency to see patterns and analyze the data in a stressful environment.Error Checking: these tests assess the individual’s attention and their potential to identify errors in the data sets and also to assess the information correctness.Concentration tests: these tests determine the ability of an individual to perform various tasks in a quick and accurate manner within the given time frame.

Hence, an individual has to be interested in a particular thing to be motivated to perform it well. Various tests by the organizations help to hire personnel who are not only intelligent but also competent, confident, reliable and have all the qualities which would contribute to the achievement of organizational goals.





Recruiting the right person can bring wonders whereas the wrong choice of personnel would eventually lead to the downfall of the organization.

How to Optimize the Performance of your WordPress Site

For the most part, WordPress is a dream when it comes to website building and maintenance. However, nothing is perfect. If you’re feeling like your WordPress site isn’t quite living up to its potential, there are a few things you can do to enhance your site’s performance. With a bit of guidance, WordPress website optimization can be relatively simple.

If you are noticing that your WordPress’ loading speed is slow, or slower than it was, it’s often better to look at optimizing the entire site, rather than focusing on one particular feature or page. There are a variety of free tools out there that you can run your website through to see which plugins, images, pages, and/or other elements of your WordPress site are slowing it down the most. Anything that has a loading time of more than 4 seconds, consider removing or replacing. You may also want to examine your web host. A reputable web hosting company will take the necessary measures to optimize performance speed, but the reality of shared hosting is that you’re competing for resources with other people. Consider moving to a VPS or managed host, both of which will isolate your server and guarantee more resources will be dedicated to your site. Because WordPress is so popular, many web hosts are specifically optimized for WordPress. If you are not currently being hosted by a provider that’s specifically WordPress friendly, you may want to consider making a switch.





Plugins can also slow down or otherwise inhibit your WordPress site’s performance. Consider removing or replacing any plugins that aren’t strictly necessary. Plugins that are big, slow, or poorly coded can sometimes slow down the speed of your entire site. If an image’s height and/or width is not specified in the image’s HTML or CSS, this can also cause problems with the image that effectively slow down the entire page. Most basic image optimization software has a tool for specifying image dimensions, so once you’ve identified the problem, it’s a fairly easy fix. There are also several Plugins that will help you with lossless compression, a way to make your image files smaller without actually resizing them.





Though you may be very attached to your theme, themes that have a lot of built-in features like shortcodes, styling, or additional theme options don’t always function very well. Though the extra features are great, it may be better to migrate your site to a simpler theme. Though the absence of all the fancy features will require a bit more maintenance on your end in terms of site styling, it can sometimes greatly enhance the overall performance of your site.





WordPress configuration is a prevalent cause of slow performance. WordPress sites are “dynamic,” which means pages are essentially rebuilt from scratch every time someone views a post. Because of this, if your WordPress site is not serving cached pages, it will eventually overload your server and erode the performance of your site over time. This can be simply solved by installing a WordPress Caching Plugin. Essentially, this Plugin makes a copy of the page after the first load, and so the next time you or anyone else visits that page, the site doesn’t have to go through the process of rebuilding it. 





Check your site for external scripts like ads and font loaders. These often seem small, but they are surprisingly influential in your site’s performance. Like Plugins, these are often features that may seem like they’re doing something interesting to enhance your site, but in reality are often unnecessary. As such, be mindful as to what is actually necessary on your site and what isn’t.
