It's a good idea to keep your long-term goals in mind when attending to some of the details of writing projects. It's easy to get deep in the weeds--and fun too--whether it is writing or proof-reading. Writers work for a distant payoff, whether it be financial or completing a long desired project like a novel. If you love to write like I do, every day that I write is gratifying and I feel like I've accomplished something. Yet, like everyone, I have my days of doubts about my current project and wonder what the heck I'm doing. Maintaining a clarity of purpose in what you want to accomplish and why you want to do it is important. Keep your eye on the prize, however you define the prize, and it will all come together: if not today, tomorrow.
